Such delicious food, amazing service and the live music was beautiful.

The atmosphere was very inviting and customer service was excellent, world class.

This place was god awful, I booked here a week in advanced but when I got there fifteen minutes late (because of traffic) they started telling me I needed to get out and said that if I was going to stay I needed to leave in the next half hour, so I agreed but then they said I still needed to leave.
Do not come here these people are unbelievably rude and have zero customer service skills and zero respect.

I had an amazing dining experience at Halikarnas last night, a hidden gem that transports your taste buds to the vibrant and rich flavors of Turkey. The warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for an unforgettable culinary adventure. The flavors of all dishes were fresh, bold, and incredibly satisfying. The attentive and friendly staff & a very pleasant owner (himself) added an overall positive experience. A must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Turkish dining experience.

I took my parents here to try their new breakky menu… it was beautiful & authentic Turkish cuisine. We had the traditional breakfast and the hung yogurt with garlic butter dish, divine! Make sure you order a Turkish teapot - it goes down so nicely with the meal. I’ll be back for sure!

We had a special occasion meal at Halikarnas cafe on a very busy Saturday night. It was compulsory to order the $65 a head feed me menu, which was a shame as we had been looking forward to ordering some of the seafood dishes advertised on their website. The service was totally haphazard, our table wasn't ready for 10 minutes and we were ignored for at least half an hour before we got served. The restaurant was absolutely jam packed with diners, with way too many seats crammed in. It was super loud and cramped. The food itself was good, the chargrilled meats and chicken were perfectly cooked and delicious. The dessert was a miniscule portion of baklava and some sliced watermelon and apple served with either Turkish coffee or tea. Overall it was fine but there are far better Turkish restaurants in Melbourne with more welcoming hospitality and better value for money.

Nice place, Calm atmosphere. The food was really nice. Felt like homestyle cooking so all the flavors were on point. But unfortunately the serving sizes are really small for what you pay.
$90 for a mixed grill with 4 little skewer that only have 3 pieces on them and 2 super thin cutlet and 1 adana is a little disappointing. We order the mixed grill for 2 and to be honest when we got the plate we knew straight away we were going to leave hungry.
I would honestly give it 5 stars if it weren't for how little food almost $50pp gets you. Maybe we're just use to bigger plates. Really nice welcoming people though and very child friendly.

Yes was recommend to us and was not disappointed we had a table of 9 we all enjoyed the food the atmosphere and the staff are very professional would highly recommend it to anyone so you can enjoy the same experience as we all did thanks to everyone at Halikarnas Resturant.

Food was great! We had a set menu and were all definitely full by the end of the meal. Casual vibe and friendly staff.

i have been to in melbourne services what services tried to charge us $65 a head for 3 kids hopeless wait staff,
dessert was 1 piece of baklava and piece of sliced watermelon that was cut 3 days ago had to take my son to maccas

Was away from home for my birthday and decided to treat myself - ended up very well taken care of by the gracious owner who stopped me in the street to promote (authentically turkish!) great food, good prices, good service - reccomend the king prawns, dips and salad as well as desserts.cute resto, family business.worth a visit!

Took the family here for dinner on 1st March - a quietish Wednesday night and not disappointed.

The portion sizes are decent, the flavours are spot on and overall a very enjoyable night.

We had dinner here this week. Dips are good, especially the spicy capsicum dip. Bread and salads are great. The let down is the grilled meats. Not bad, but the cutlets were chewy, chicken could have been marinated a bit more as could have the mince, but the lamb was tender and very good.
The standout is the Kunefe dessert.best I've had since the last time we were in Egypt!
And the owner, Ali. Very friendly and accommodating. You can see a lot of regulars / friends come here. The atmosphere is very inviting and does make us want to return. Ali, if you read this post, fix the meats and you definitely have a 5 * restaurant.

Terrific food which was plenty for 3, lively atmosphere with live music on Friday night and attentive service.

Nice little slice of Istanbul on Lygon. Mixed grill for two was solid - good meats, good bread, good salad, good dips. Maybe a little pricey but would definitely come back again.

Best Turkish restaurant ever, delicious foods, friendly service, lovely music, nice location, highly recommended, definitely will back again.

Visiting from interstate we were after something a little different and were very satisfied with our choice. Staff were nice. Food was amazing. Try the manti!

Had the most wonderful time at Halikarnas on Sunday night. Went there for my birthday dinner and can say it was one of the best dinning experiences I have had in Melbourne. The decor is amazing, the food off the chain and the staff honestly are the most lovely people ever. Can’t recommend this place enough!

This is my second time experiencing the magnificent Halikarnas. After being treated so well the first time I decided to book a party of 7 for my boyfriends birthday on a Sunday night.

From the moment we were greeted at the door the owner and staff made us feel so welcome and served some of the best authentic Turkish food I’ve ever experienced. For a very reasonable price we left feeling very full and content aswell as being given full reign on the aux cord which made the night very special. Would recommend Halikarnas to anyone wanting a night to remember!
