Half Moon Cafe reviews
55Incredibly rude owner. Sitting out the front having a coffee and reading and he comes out rude, no introduction or explaination telling me to leave and physically shooing his arms at me. Theres never any reason to physically touch someone like that in public. There is a right way to address someone and be respectful, and being rude and gruff and waving your arms at someone is not it. I recognise discrimatory behaviour when its done to me. Other people similarly using the tables were not treated the same. Unfortunately there are people like this in the community, avoid this place, there are better, respectful places to be around in this area.
Absolutely loved the food, very fresh and all made on the premises.
All vegetarian. The staff were really lovely. This is now my go to falafel shop.
A hidden gem
Half moon is an institution. Really freakin amazing felafels every time! We always phone order 15 minutes before and it’s hot and ready in time every time
I absolutely loved the falafels, babaganoush, and those zesty pickled chillies and cucumbers! The seating is al fresco, and they've got this cool system where they assign you a number, and there's a nifty display to eagerly watch for your food. Trust me, it's a must-try!
Hands down the best falafel of my life.halloumi is a winner. Huge portion, friendly service and it comes out quickly.
If there weren't so many scroungy pigeons and there were a few large plants/pot plants around, this would be an even better "square, " well ok Mall then, — C'mon Council get in and make it shady and pleasant for Summer. Maybe a cooling foot bath pool. Meri-bek you need to think outside the Square!?
One of the best in the Egyptian food business. Falafel, Fava beans, Eggplants. Great food and service. Totally love the place.
The owner, (nabil), his wife, his son & the staff, they assure my belief about business success is strongly based on personalities.
They are great, creative & above all happy people. Well done.
God bless
The best in town for Falafels.
Very genuine prices and makes the whole order in front of you.
Highly Highly recommend for brekky, snack.
Are these the best felafels in melbourne? I reckon they might be. Delicious herby, green balls of fun with so much flavour that go beyond just the bland one flavoured chickpea dry bites that you get from most places. The owners of this restaurant are so lovely and super happy to have a chat if they aren’t serving their many faithful customers (for very good reason!).
Best falafel in Melbourne. Whenever I am near Coburg I make a point of coming here - mostly every week or two. The Ful Medames is also delicious. And the service is welcoming and friendly. I now come here instead of a falafel place close to home. Highly recommended.
We stumbled upon this unassuming cafe and saw it was pretty busy so it must be pretty good.
DAMN! SO GOOD! WOW.
The food is really good and always tastes fresh. I used to go there all the time. The wraps, falafel and chips are delicious!
Its been a long time waiting to give this reviewhalf moon has the Best falafel in Melbourne! I have been eating here for 6 years and never had a dud wrap, the family are very friendly and welcoming and i have never waited long considering the falafel is freshly made. I get the colibaba with halloumi and hot sauce, Amazing flavor combo! To think I didn’t even like falafel before i was introduced to half moon.
The original and best falafel place in the area! You won’t be able to eat falafel anywhere else after coming here. Lovely owners and staff too!
The premier Egyptian spot.really really good.i could eat this everyday.nice little court yard area to sit and eat.icon of coburg
Best Falafel in Melbourne! The Falafel is cooked fresh, the taste is unbelievable and the serving is generous. To top it off the customer service is friendly and to the point. I can't wait to come back again.
My absolute favourite felafel in all of Melbourne, I get cravings for it if it has been too long. The freshest ingredients, best flavour and superior service. I love the half moon kebab and the falafel plate, but also strongly recommend the ful medames in the cooler months for a nourishing and tasty dish.
SOO GOOD.some of the best falafel i've had. & plenty of variations on the trad.wrap available for order.
Did not disappoint. Recommended by a friend and glad I didn't wait too long to eat there. Good Egyptian food.
