Hair 4 Kids

My son was apprehensive about his first big haircut (three year old) which had promised wouldn't hurt. The hairdresser ripped through the parts that were tangled and he cried and cried. She told him to say stop if it hurt, which he did, but she she didn't stop. She was clearly in a rush.

His hair is naturally curly and she cut it straight across.

I wouldn't recommend this hairdresser and I won't be returning.

Amazing! Went for my daughters first hair cut 2.5 years old and they made her feel very at ease and welcome. They showed her the tools and took it very slow as she was nervous. Super happy with the result and will attend again!

I visited hair 4 kids this week for my sons first proper haircut (after some failed attempts at home). He is 16 months old and very wriggly. Our hairdresser was amazing.so gentle and quick… and it was done in under 5 minutes! Would highly recommend this salon - thanks again - we will be back

Interesting place for kids. My 3y old son was afraid of hair cut before and did his first cryless haircut there.
Staff are good but woud be nice if have conversations with kids also to give them a better feeling.

Absolutely fantastic ladies. My son won't go anywhere else, always friendly, happy and a very clean place.

I’ve been here several times for my sons haircut and I’m always happy. My son loves the car chairs and as time has gone on is more and more comfortable getting his hair cut. Staff are lovely and professional.

Try not to get sucked in to the name. I imagined the experience would be very different. These "professionals" were far from it. I had twins struggling in their shop and it was horrid. They offered no real support stood back and watched and waited until composure was regained enough to finish. A tricky chair and screens don't really make a difference.
In my opinion these woman simply use the guise of being "expert" with kids to rip parents and disguise their out of date and touch skillset.

We have one of those kids that was really, really resistant to hair cuts. They had to be strapped into the chair. The fact the chair had said straps was an indication this is possibly a common thing.

Despite the screaming and squirming, they did a great job. The next time was no screaming, but a lot of squirming, and every time since then it's been fine. We haven't had the same hairdresser twice yet, but they've all been great with kids.

They have TV screens to distract kids who need it (Paw Patrol regularly chosen here, but I've seen movies and other shows too).

Great prices, Great service. Will keep coming until the kids outgrow it, or decide to.let me buzz cut their hair instead.

First time my kid cried at a hairdresser. I went because we recently moved and I needed to find a new place. There was ear pulling, hair pulling and tears. Awful. Too rough for a kid. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. If you read this far, take it as a sign and do not do it.

We got a haircut for our little one, it was quick and it was a bit busy. Obviously our child was a little cranky, finished his hair cut, without removing the left over hair, and worse part behind his right ear we found the blood which was quite disappointing. The response given by the Hair 4 kids is too rude and it is not at all apologetic, we believe that our kids are in safe hands for the people who have at least a good etiquette and minimum business value. However, it seems like they don't care about one review being bad and rather arguing with what happened and why it happened. Completely not recommend this hair for 4 kids for not having manners to treat kids and their parents.

Great place for a kids haircut. My 2 year old son hates getting his haircut but the lady who did it this morning was very patient and did an excellent job. We will definitely be back.

We went here for my son's first haircut. He was very distressed as soon as we put him in the seat but he wasn't allowed to sit in my lap. I gave permission to go ahead, but considering that it was his first haircut the hairdresser wasn't particularly kind or comforting towards him.

The lady that did my son's hair was amazing. He hates getting his hair done and she was fast.
Easy to get an appointment and very supportive.

Not a happy experience! I showed the hairdresser a picture of a model I wanted for my son and it ended up nothing similar to that. Way shorter than what I expected. Generally speaking they never have been friendly with my kid and today was the last time I’d go there.

Last year the team did a great job really friendly. This year really careless and my sons haircut looks horrible. Won't be going back.

We've been regulars here for years and came back for my child's first post-covid cut. Previously they have been very accommodating to his needs - no clippers and gentle touching as he has ASD. Today with new staff was not the same experience - hairdresser who cut my child's hair was super rude… I told her the only thing was to not use the clippers… then she went for the clippers and gave this big grumpy sigh when I said not to… when she started my child said “can you please be a bit more gentle” and she dgaf… my child asked if she could turn up the TV and she just ignored him.
I'm disappointed as our previous experiences were fantastic. Edit: downgraded to 1 star from the owners response to our experience today.

Love this kids hairdresser! They are so lovely and they have the best inviting fun environment for kids. My son (aged 3 at the time) freaked out at the average hairdresser and we were recommended Watsonia Kids Hair.
It was seriously was life changing he wanted to sit in the car chair and watch Bluey! Then they were so good with his hair cut! So professional and gentle. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for kids haircut but here for your kids haircut! Highly recommended and repeat client
