Haileybury College, Keysborough reviews
28The school seemed to have many problems with equipment fires in back of class but the hailbury 1st hockey keeper was top great person all round only reason I would ever go there
When a kid does something that will damage the school's reputation, the school's first priority will be to hide it, not solve it.all the school's ads out there are all very exaggerated, while on the inside its just the same as any other usual school.shouldn't be here.
I have never attended this school however everyone I know who has done APS sport says ‘as long as you don’t lose to Haileybury, you’re fine. ’ And I was there today and it was a nightmare parking and getting hockey gear out of the car without getting bogged by mud or falling into the mud. I honestly found the whole experience a pain. Especially since I almost broke my finger when two hockey sticks came crashing down on my hand and when I said I felt like i was going to vomit and there were no sick bags so while someone ran to find them I threw up on the sidelines and the umpires, coaches and parents gave me dirty looks for doing so. To the girls in the Haileybury seconds hockey team who played on megenta 2 this morning; you guys were amazing, such great sports and it was fun to verse you whilst both teams cared when an opposing player got injured.
In science my children learned how to make blue crystals, the science teacher, Mr Walter White, taught them a lot of things. The principal, Mr Gustavo Fring, is a good and kind man. This is an image of the science teacher. My kids say that canteen lunch is very delicious, especially the chicken nuggets. Wonderful school.
Haileybury provides an un-shakable logical foundation for its students that universities exist to de-con-struct.
Very rude staff.went to the campus on a Sunday, been treated by the staff there like a thief. The campus door is open and there is no warning sign there. Should the school put some sign there or simply lock the door before treating visitors like thieves?
Haileybury is not a school, it's a business. The principal and the school care only about their reputation and ranking by focusing only on getting the best Naplan scores. They start Naplan 'programing' from as early as year 1. They ask students who are below average to sit out, as their scores would affect the school's overall mark. They head hunt and offer scholarships to students in areas that they are lacking to improve their scores. They tell one parent they don't match scholarships but match scholarships for another. They lead you to believe there is a long wait list but don't be fool, there isn't. They hand out academic awards at the end of the year, supposedly based on marks but in fact its based on teacher's preference. They have difficulties admitting they are wrong even when proven so. Their curriculum has been created in such a way that any teacher who comes in can deliver it regardless of experience. So, to those who think the teachers there are great, they are not. Rather, they are pretentious and are programmed to teach a ridgid curriculum. They sell this program to other schools. Haileybury doesn't care about your child. Your child is just a number to them. Your child is replacable. Your money is going towards developing more Haieybury schools abroad. This school has no dignity or basic morals. Don't waste your money.
THIS SCHOOL IS AN ABSALUTE ABOMINATION. After spending 3 years at the schools early learning centre, my 8 year old son was "requested to leave" after coming out as a cyborg attack helicopter. This is the utmost transphobic thing I would expect from a privileged filled school like Haileybury College
I moved to Melbourne from Shanghai 6 years ago. My oldest son entered Haileybury in grade 7 in 2020. Since he is a very introverted child, he was very uncomfortable in the first semester, complaining that there was too much homework, no friend, and some course's teachers were too boring. But two years later, he is now in grade 9. He likes this school more and more. He has a lot of friends and his behavior and score have improved a lot. This year he took the advanced grade-10 course in mathematics. My second son also started Year 7 at this school this year (2022). With the help of his brother, he gets used to the life in middle school faster. Haileybury is not perfect but I believe that it is my best choice.
Bad school, bad choice to have its scholarship test online, which made it easy for people who want to cheat.
I attended the school from a very young age and experienced all this school has to offer. From the moment I stepped through the school gates, I felt pressure to perform. Not because of the attitude that my parents had, but instead because of the school's agenda which values people based on their academic performance rather than what they're actually like as a person. Despite this, students are completely discouraged from expanding the depth of their knowledge in topics, and are rewarded academically for regurgitating information that they don't even have to understand. The school does not educate, but instead crams information into the students' minds. It is in no way revolutionary, and simply discourages students to think for themselves; a skill that is essential for all aspects of life. Additionally, the co-ed program creates an environment in which children become socially inept. The segregation after year 4 only exemplifies fundamental, gender-based issues. A misogynistic culture is extremely prevalent and noticeable for anyone that isn't deeply privileged. The school does not handle adversity well. If students have issues, they are encouraged to immediately consult a staff member. Whilst I acknowledge that the school has a duty of care, I believe children need to be resilient and attempt to sort out their own issues. The way students are spoonfed ultimately sets them up for failure in real life. I accredit the staff for being proactive about issues such as bullying, but the way that most of them deal with the perpetrator and victim provides no long-term benefits to anyone. They use band-aid solutions that are sure to cause more problems later in life. To the school's credit, I had some wonderful teachers, however a fair few were lazy and didn't care about the results or welfare of their students, as long as they still had the job. The school also, as a whole, seems to prioritise their image over the mental health of their students. An untucked shirt or the wrong socks are more of an issue than poor wellbeing of a student. Overall, if you want your child to be a robot, and possibly achieve a good atar, send them to this school. Make sure they're smart, though. They won't survive otherwise. This school does not produce smart people. This school does not produce courteous people. This school produces people that fit their agenda and make the school's image look good, and everyone else is ignored and neglected. Students' interests are only encouraged and celebrated if they fit within this agenda. If you truly want to send your child to this school, consider sending them to the local primary school first, so they can develop essential life skills and meet genuine kids that aren't brainwashed to think that they're superior to everyone else.

We study at this school every Saturday for Language class. And when break time, we usually go to the room that our teacher told us if we want to eat or microwave our food. However, we accidentally dropped food on the floor and one teacher saw it. She just raised her voice at us, “ who do you think you are but eat at here, so ridiculous, clean up and get out of here”. The way she talked shown scornful to us. Is this how teacher from a well-known school talked?
The uniform screams private school! Show how rich you are and drive your lambo up to the gate and use your gold plated pen to sign that enrolment form. Actually don't do that, get your servant Bertie to do it.
The students are taught English very well, I had one of the students say to me that she wanted to know how to "unhot the warmer" and it just really shows how well the school is educating its students:)
I believe this is a great school but it didn’t workout for me children are rude towards their peers and are snubs.i wish this school worked out for me
This is a great school. I used to be bullied at my old school, and the schools before that. The students at Haileybury was very welcoming. I do admit there is a little homework but otherwise it’s the best school I have ever been to.
This school is extremely good. They have great facilities, it is only affordable to those who are rich or smart. I would greatly recommend this school if you are wanting to find s good school
