Historically significant corner of Keilor, Melbourne, and Victoria, as this was the area where Melbourne founding father John Batman found “The best grazing land he had ever seen! ”. This area of land bounded by the old Calder highway and Bondfield Street houses some stone ruins which were last home for a Spanish couple who migrated to Australia in the 1800’s, and farmed the land on the banks of the Maribyrnong River on Horseshoe Bend.
The area is connected to part of The Brimbank Park and has been left to restore its heritage state.
The ruins are closed to the public, due to their unstable and dilapidated state but they can be viewed from a safe distance
