Guilfoyle's Volcano reviews
23What a beautiful part of the Melbourne Botanical Gardens - always nice to read the history of the feature and the story behind its planting.
Loved it! The view from here is very nice. You can come here, have a picnic or just a walk, you will enjoy your time.
We enjoyed a beautiful Christmas Day picnic in the gardens. It was clean, green and lots of shady trees. Staff keeping an eye on things on the golf buggies. What a lovely experience. Think we will make this our regular Christmas tradition.xo
The similiar theme of desert plants carries on from the Arid gardens up to the volcano. There is a smooth track that winds up making it easily accseible for any ill suited for stairs. The volcano itself could be considered a touch underwhelming. There is a pond at the top that has some plants and a few ducks if you are lucky.
Disappointed to learn that it was in fact not actually a volcano. Looked nice enough, I suppose.
Such an interesting piece of design that is both beautiful and functional.
As with all things in the Botanical gardens Guilfoyle's is well thought out, practical and beautifully executed.
Accessible from both sides of the garden for all abilities, it's a pleasure to walk up to the top and get an understanding of how it all works and the useful purpose it serves.
Once at the top, there's some great views of the city and the rest of the gardens.
Brilliant but beware the mother-in-law pin-cushion! Guilfoyle was a genius designing the volcano.
Gorgeous arid garden, picturesque view of the gardens at large and the city in the distance. Pleasant walk on a long weekend.
Years since our last visit to the Botanical Gardens and might just be the first to the Volcano. Such a peaceful place
A must see part of the gardens. It means a lot more if you read up on the history at the information boards so make sure that you do
Loved learning about the history of this unique place. The cacti garden is spectacular. Children enjoyed looking at the many varieties, and walking around the curving path. The views from the top are beautiful.
Beautifully maintained and nice spots thru camera, nice picnic spot to relax with family n friends.
A truly superb design.fascinating technology and all very well maintained. A crredit to what is already the worlds finest botanical garden.
Beautiful vantage spot to view our gorgeous Botanical gardens and city backdrop. Great water recycling and sustainability project.
A wonderful display of Cacti of a wide variety. The history of the Botanical gardens and how the Guilfoie's Volcano came to be is a fascinatingl tale.
An amazing selection of plants of great to see how the recycled water is filtered naturally by the plants.
A true highlight to the botanical gardens, surrounded by an abundance of cactus, a circular board walk leads you to floating islands at the top.
Fantastic place to visit if you like gardens and cacti/succulents. Weekends are very busy so get there early.
Lovely formal succulent garden nearby.
The Melbourne Botanical Gardens with GuilfoylesVolcano and the new arid garden area are beautiful. Take the time to visit and take a picnic.
