I had a selection of their quiches. The best one in my opinion is chicken, brie and dill. What an amazing combo! Complimented by their quality pastry as the base. Delicious! Their other selections are also great.

All five of us had a pie. Without doubt, the best, flakiest pies we've ever had, and reasonably priced!
And coffee was good too

Pastries here are amazing! The pies are crispy and delicious, vanilla slices are not too sweet, spinach and ricotta are generous and flavoursome. Grab a hot coffee to wash it all down. You will not be disappointed!

Absolutely incredible pies - best pastry I’ve tasted in years! Didn’t get a chance for pics because it went too quick but will be back tomorrow!

We enjoyed our breakfast in their spacious indoor area. For warmer weather there is a spacious outdoors eating area

Bread was very good, tasty and a good price. Everything else very tempting. Must taste good based on the locals queued up for a great range of pastries.

Nice food, good variety. Lots of drink options. Friendly staff, and all in an historic building. Sadly, not very mobility accessible, and not wheelchair accessible at all.

I stopped here by chance while visiting Kyneton.
It was near close time, so they had special, 2 sour dough bread for $10,3 pastry for $10.

It’s good deal, so I bough both.
The pastries were delicious! Crispy and flaky!
(I forgot to take photos as I ate in seconds)
Bread was very nice as well.
Next time I like to eat in as cafe is very nice vibe.

I ordered what was supposed to be an almond croissant- took 1 byte and felt instantly sick. Poor service. Will Never go here again.

Great food and atmosphere. Self service at the counter. A bit low on staff for clearing and cleaning tables.

I've yet to try anything from here that doesn't exceed expectation. The service is awesome and I love the vibe. My only compliant if that there is no potato pie, however the pies they do are very tasty.

This once-fabulous bakery is under new ownership & is now at best quite good if it’s a cake you’re after, but otherwise you’re taking your chances. The chicken pies are tasteless glug, & I’ve just abandoned my veggie pastie because the filling is awful - the vegetables consisting of potato, carrot, celery, & turnip not even cooked-through. Nothing like a filling of tasteless crunchy veg. The pastry is still really good, but the filling way below par - you are better off heading to the Country Cobb bakery in Mollison street if you find yourself in Kyneton & feeling like a pie.

Visiting The Grist is always a wonderful experience, the staff are incredibly friendly and the customer service is fantastic. You are always greeted with a smile and friendly attitude. The owner Raj is incredibly lovely and generous.

The pies and pastries are delicious and well worth the hours travel from my hometown.

100% recommend The Grist, I cannot find anywhere else that comes close to quality and customer service.

Place across the road stops serving lunch at 2.30pm so went here instead and the food was sensational.

Food was great, although the staff member that served me seemed like she didn’t want to be there.

Loved the whole place - located in an old mill. So authentic regional feel to it.
Plus the bakery products were just so so good. Cannot recommend it more

The absolute best pies outside of Melbourne! Great service and who wouldn't want to visit Kyneton!
