Greencross Vets Ashburton

There's another Greencross Vets close to where I live, but I opted for Greencross Vets Ashburton. The team there is incredibly pleasant and welcoming, and unlike other places, they've never pressured us into purchasing additional items.

Abbey was out for a walk and dragged her owner to the Vet looking for the nice humans who give her pats and treats. Unfortunately, Abbey was sad to see there were no humans inside as the vet was closed thus, she made her owner wait some time to ensure she expressed her displeasure.

Greencross Ashburton is the best! We have been attending this practice for many years and have always had a fantastic experience, as have our pets. Going to the vet can be traumatic at times but Matt and the staff make the whole experience seamless with their caring manner. Couldn’t rate them any higher.

My German Shepherd Girl Ottilie underwent sterilization surgery in Greencross Ashburton last week, and I am very satisfied with their service. Their smiling faces, warm words, and Dr. Isabella superb skills made me and Ottilie feel comfortable. Ottilie only lost her appetite and didn't feel any pain due to the reaction after anesthesia on the first and second days.she looked like nothing had happened today, eating, sleeping, and playing were as happy as before, Thank you very much, Greencross Ashburton. You are the most caring and excellent team!

If there was -100 I would give that score, rude, very inconvenient and greedy, if you care about your dear pet, don’t go there, they wanna make money, I got ripped off that’s how I feel and in the end after all lies they changed my email in system to not send me invoice, dodgy as …. Dr Rosie as rudest vet I have ever meet in my life, try to push me a anti flee shampoo when I try to save my dog’s life (as she thought was bad signs) that’s super poor…
That was 300$ and when I went to other vet it was not a big deal and no threats has been thrown like before we’re cost me 160 $ with medicine

Terrible service and only care about making money. Visited with my dog who had a strained back. The vet asked us to return 7 days later for follow up. We did so and after the consult regarding his back injury I mentioned he was due for his annual vaccination. The vet happily gave it to him. I said at reception as I left that I would be claiming the consultation follow up on insurance as it was related to the original back injury and could the invoice please reflect the reason for the consult. When I saw the invoice later it appeared that I’d visited for vaccination only and no mention of the follow up due to injury. Their practice manager was rude and uncaring and simply stated it’s their policy not to reissue statements. Basically I feel they were annoyed that I had the vaccination done at the follow up meaning I did not need to come in for a separate visit and pay and additional consultation fee. Sadly they are all about the money and less about the pets. Choose a smaller local vet clinic. Don’t go here.

Our experience at Greencross Ashburton has been excellent. Recently we took our two dogs in for teeth cleaning. The explanation as to what was to happen and the costs associated was well advised. The follow-up from the Vet post blood work and then the follow-up from the staff post procedure was excellent. If you are looking for a vet in the Ashburton/Glen Iris area I can highly recommend Greencross.

My experience was very traumatic and I never want anyone to feel the way I was made to feel.
I put my trust in this vet to take care of my beautiful Staffy who I lost the night I took him to the vet. There was nothing they could do for him and I understood that.
It’s what happened afterwards that has been burnt into my mind forever.
They threw his collar away even though I specifically advised them to keep his collar on him as I wanted him cremated with his collar.
They lost his bed and I specifically advised them that he was to be cremated in his bed.
It took months of me trying to get some answers and finally I was offered a small compensation of $152.00.
Such a small amount for such a large trauma I have endured.
To date I have not been given any monetary compensation and the person who offered me the compensation (Cate Davis) has ignored my emails.
I feel this vet is all about getting paid and not interested in the care, support and empathy required to deal with our beloved pets.
Your pet will just be a number.
Please do not get involved with them, it will cause you more pain and trauma.
My heart is broken thinking about what they did to my boy behind closed doors.
If I could give them zero stars, then I certainly would.

This vet is the most friendly and compassionate, I have all the respect for them, I can't imagine how many times they have to do what they do

Awesome practice with great staff including both the Vets and Vet Nurses! Looked after my girl's temperament, health and wellbeing very well. She had cruciate TPLO surgery here and was well-looked after even if she just wanted to go home! Comprehensive instructions including with images on physical therapy and recovery-oriented practice plus the practice was really helpful and supportive. I hadn't heard of the Greencross chain back in WA but discovered them in both SA and VIC before learning they're Australia-wide and my experience in both states has led me to stick with Greencross! Bonus is they're linked with Petbarn too, which I shop at and have done for years.

Great. I took in an injured bird. They fixed him up. Called me the next day to see where he could be released.

Fantastic and caring staff, took very good care of our dog Rex when he suddenly couldn't standup, he could barely lift his head off the ground. They brought out a little doggie strecher to the car and everything.

I will update the review once we have been back on thurday for an ultrasound, thankyou!

UPDATE: Rex unfortunately didn't make it to that Thursday as he passed away during the night about 2 days after I made the original post, RIP REXY LOVE YOU Mate

I have been going to Greencross Ashburton for 7 years now and they never disappoint. Always great service and treat our pets like their own.

We have been with Greencross Ashburton for 15 years, over the time our 4 dogs and cat have received incredible level of care and compassion. Matt and the team are an incredible group providing support when we need it most. Can’t rate them enough

The staff and veterinarians at Greencross Vets Ashburton are incredibly kind, patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They really take the time to answer all your questions, and they show incredible compassion for their human and animal clients alike.

Also, this location has a dog wash station, which is convenient. They have ample parking. Also, they are quite helpful in billing to pet insurance if you have it.

These are great vets, professional and caring. Each time I take my cats I'm impressed. In addition to health checks and vaccinations, they do short term boarding.

Caring and supportive staff, showed alot of compassion and understanding when I lost my pet chicken. Great part of our neighbourhood.

Took my dog here for his first vet checkup and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming!
We saw Dr. Georgie and she was very insightful for how we might overcome our dogs anxiety issues and what options he had for heart and worming treatment.
Definitely coming back!

We've taken our cats for overnight boarding and their health checks and vaccinations. Very satisfied
