Green Heart Cafe & Providore

Must have been rationing the avocado! Ordered the Avocado something dish. Turned out to be a small pile of salsa with only a few tiny pieces of avocado with 1 poached egg and 2 small toast pieces. Sure, it tasted fresh but disappointed and hungry afterwards. Looked lost on the plate, not to mention the price.

Time: 11: 30.
Meals: 2x Big Breakfasts, 1x Bacon & egg roll. 1x Prawn & pea Risotto.
Drinks: Iced coffee, Chardonnay, Coopers beers (because, holidays)

Prompt welcome on arrival and not long after ordering (from the counter only), drinks turned up. Nice, but lack of table service makes it feel more like a cafeteria.

After ordering, meals took 30 minutes, and it was mixed results.
B&E Roll - hot egg, cold bacon. Would have been great otherwise. Cheap at $12.
Big Breakfasts - poached eggs were over done so didn't run on to the toast at all. Some ingredients warmer than others. At $28, it's not amazing.
Risotto - Only slightly warm, if that. Dead cold by the time it was half eaten.

I didn't get the same vibe like some other reviews mentioned re staff, but it's got a lot of promise. Currently, unfulfilled promise. It feels like they need more than a single chef out the back (it wasn't all that busy), and for the love of god, put a menu out the front so everyone knows what you're serving today.

We were greeted with a really friendly staff member. I ordered the chicken crepe which was delicious. We were also able to speak to the chef cooking the crepe which was a bonus for my daughter. I'm just sad that we are going home today otherwise l would definitely be a regular here.

5 families travelled to Venus Bay for long weekend and we had brunch here on our way back. 18 people including kids and despite being super busy, all the staffs were very accommodative and kind enough of rearrange the tables to make us all sit together. Delicious food and Crepes were the best. Super impressed with quick responses for additional requests for the big group. Thank you.

Shattered emotionally at the way I was just spoken to by the owner or manager at the Green Heart Cafe. I'm a vegetarian so I ordered scrambled eggs & bacon on toast but asked if you could swap the bacon for something vegetarian instead. I was told I'd have to pay for a side of whatever I wanted. I thought ok well I guess I'll just have to pay so I ordered a side of 'Mushrooms' (plural) $4. Altogether for one slice of bread a couple of scrambled eggs & ONE mushroom I paid $20! When the waitress came out I questioned the ONE mushroom? I said I ordered mushrooms (plural). She went in and out came the Manager or whoever she was and in a loud voice said "I hear there's a problem with the mushroom? ! " I quietly explained that I did expect a few more mushrooms seeing I had to pay extra. To cut a long story short she gave me two more mushrooms but said again in a loud voice "Just to make it clear I'll give you extra this time but I'd like to point out ONE mushroom is what the serving is next time! ".
I'm 66 years old I've been around for a long time, been to many a Cafe, I spoke very quietly about my complaint to the waitress and you came out with a very aggressive demenour & booming voice! You yourself was drawing attention to the fact that I was making a complaint about the food you just served me which I found incredibly unprofessional! You really should learn to take constructive criticizim if a customer feels that they have been short changed with the food you have just served up. Thank so much for the extra two mushrooms you gave me but I could have done without the loud tongue lashing! Perhaps a bit more lady like decorum next time a customer feels they are not getting what they paid for young lady.
(Certainly never to return!)

Amazing galettes and coffee and such friendly staff. But the surprising star was the chocolate Croissant! So soft, chocolatey and moreish!

What a absolute cracker of cafe
No really, everything from the food, to the staff to the overall vibe was 10/10! We strolled in there at around lunch time and the place was packed but this did not stop the staff to help us a find a seat! We had the brisket burger special, and oh my word was it special with the softest brisket on the freshest bun and the chai latte was also on a another level to top it off! The gift & goodies that they sell like the crunches & eye pillows are amazing and will make a great gift for any age! Thanks green heart if we are in Inverloch we will most definitely pop in again!

I’m not sure why there are so many one star reviews here. The food is organic and really tasty. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than some of the cafes that serve cheap bacon and battery-farmed eggs, but you get what you pay for and the prices are on the menu. Staff were very friendly even during a busy period. Would certainly come here again.

Lovely place with wonderful staff. While it is a bit more pricey, the food all seems organic and local- even included a little card on the table explaining why their bacon isn't pink and where the eggs are from! Also, there is a menu outside with prices before you walk in.

All the staff we saw were polite and friendly and handling things quite well when the cafe was so busy that almost every table was full. Bit of a line to order but nothing unreasonable.

It had freshly rained and the inside tables were full. So, two staff members were drying and cleaning the tables outside and were happy to prioritise drying a table we specifically picked. And when my partner was still waiting for his drink after my drink and our food arrived, he politely asked the waitress if his drink was still coming. She was lovely, checked on it and came back to let us know it was in line and a few minutes later the drink arrived.

While there, another couple had an issue and a staff member (I believe a manager) went and politely but firmly asked them to leave and offered a refund (they had already received their order, so would've been a loss on the cafe's part). I did not see the initial issue but gathered that one of them had been quite rude and confrontational with a staff member when they received coffee in takeaway cups. The couple did not leave and seemed upset with being asked to leave. They explained what their issue was and said the matter was over. The manager did explain the problem was not the question they asked but the way the staff member was spoken to. The couple finished their meal uninterrupted. After they finished eating, the manager cleared their plates and I think they were asked to leave again but I couldn't hear them. Then, the owner came out from the kitchen and also asked them to leave. They stated that they wanted to finish their coffee but the owner stated again that they were asked to leave.

I saw that they also left a review and wanted to explain what I observed as a third party.

Personally, we were told that the cafe were using takeaway cups when we ordered. Overall, I think the situation was handled just fine and am very happy to support somewhere that stands up for their staff. Management did their best to look out for their staff while also not leaving customers put out by offering a refund and the customers stayed to finish their meal even though they have been asked to leave.

Also, we picked up a brownie and crossiant on our way out and they were delicious and fresh!

Fantastic and friendly service, beautiful food and coffee and sustainable approach to ingredients. What's not to love? Would come back in a heartbeat.

The absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced. Seriously over priced for the very average food. Don’t waste your money - save it for another local cafe that actually acknowledge their patrons, instead of grunting at them and making them feel like an inconvenience.

Like many other visitors reviews I had a run in with a rude staff member.
Upon entry I ordered a coffee and purchased a bag of Swiss biscotti that were on the counter. I proceeded to sit down at my table and wait for my coffee. After 5 minutes I decided sample the biscotti I had ordered. The coffee was taking some time so I had a second biscotti. One of the female staff went to wipe the table next to me and said “Can you be a bit more discreet”.
I had to ask her what she meant by that statement. She replied, “Be more discreet with the biscuits”. I had to remind her that I had purchased them in their store. Thanks for rudely implying I was eating food from somewhere else in your cafe while waiting for my coffee. This accusation was offensive and no apology was given after I clearly point out that it was their food I was consuming. This staff member has cost you a loyal customer. Not going back!

Nice clean Cafe with friendly staff. We sat outdoors on a raised deck. Plenty of space and comfortable seating. Service was very prompt and the food was lovely, well presented, well cooked and adequate portions. Will definitely be back when in Inverloch.

Waited 30 mins for a takeaway coffee that never came. Barista could use some lessons in customer service.

Amazing food using quality products. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere with well made coffee. What more could you want.

A little bit disappointed that, although I was "having in" I was gave disposable cups and then I notice that even the cups for water were disposable as well, not impressed.

Love the ambiance.great products for those with an eye for 'living gently on the earth'. Organic food and snacks available. Organic supplies can be ordered in also.
