Green Demolition and Earthworks

Did our demolition for our unfinished site with a basement to restart work. Stopped halfway to ask for a lot more money. Paid them. Builder was shocked how we ended up with tonnes more soil on site than I had before. Had to spend thousands to get another company to excavate and remove the excess soil. Essentially digging out the whole basement again before we could start. Even my builder was confused. We were demolishing a basement and building a basement exactly the same size and depth.

No communication with anyone, including the builder.
Tiles came off a month ago on a Monday- no notice. Have been told
1) heavy equipment to arrive mid week- no show
2) 30th Jan- no show
Finally rocked up on Feb13th w no notice to anyone, including the builder who contracted them.
Phone always directly to VM after one ring. Left 5-6 messages over the last month or so- not one call back.
Appalling lack of professionalism, dependability, communication, etc
AVOID at all costs, even if you’re a builder. Mine was so frustrated and embarrassed that Green’s unprofessionalism was reflecting on them.
5 months later- blatantly lying to surveyor re ‘verbal’ notice given to neighbour (me) etc.the saga goes on- avoid avoid avoid!

Took long time to start the actual demolition. Electricity has been abolished on June 29, the works started on July 29,2020.

Poor communication, continued delays and overall general lack of organisation. 2 months after requesting they organise a demo permit, it was still not done. They take days to respond via email and after I cancelled and they refused to refund even a part of our deposit, they advised they will be issuing us an administrative fee. Stay away!

In response to your reply - we advised you from the get go it was a partial demo. When your assessor attended we advised it was a partial demo and that we were still going to be living there. At no point was there mention that you couldn't do the job if we were still living there. If it is impossible to remove asbestos while we are living there why did you not tell us this at the outset before we accepted your quote and why did you send your asbestos removal contractor after I had already requested you cancel the job? Why did you accept my deposit and not refund me any of it and say that you couldn't do the job? Why was another demolisher able to perform the exact job you quoted while we were living there? If you truly could not do the job you would have not accepted the deposit and then dragged it out for over 2 months.

I did not expect you to attend site during the 2 week construction lockdown. You had the previous 2 months to get the job done and failed to do so and also communicate with us satisfactorily.

Think and research again if you are planning to use this company for your knockdown rebuild project. During the quotation phase, they are proactive and responsive. Their quotes also is clear. However the quality of their work is poor.we paid them extra money to remove asbestos, when our site supervisor inspected the site, pieces of asbestos was found left behind. After making 20+ phone calls and numerous emails and after following up for around two weeks, they collected those pieces. They also left big concrete pieces behind just a few mm under the surface. We asked for removal and they said our quotation just covered what was visible on the surface. We had to hire a contractor to remove those pieces that they had left behind. My advice to you is simply avoid using them. Ideally use the companies that are approved by your builder.
Their customer service is also shocking and they show no respect to clients.

We engaged Green Demolition and Earthworks to demolish an old house. They are not the cheapest but the whole process went as smooth as could be. Zarah in the office was prompt and responsive. Dalia gave us an assurance that the work would be completed at all parties' satisfactions. The actual demolition work (heavy machine on site) only took two days and our neighbors had minimum disruption. Definitely recommend them.

Engaged Green Demolition to demolish a house and made 2 payments to them. The demolition was cancelled. I politely requested a refund of the money they owe me on 3 or 4 occasions. They are ignoring me and will not refund what they owe. Now I will take them to VCAT.

The entire house was put into the bin. Nothing was recycled. Green? Rubbish was left on site. They would not move the temporary fencing to extract tree roots. I had to hire a stump grinder later and do it at my own cost. They argued about knocking down my garage wall that was on the boundary. So we did it ourselves. They damaged fences and pushed over the neighbours glass house and destroyed it. Even though the workers on site admitted fault, the company would not pay one cent to replace it!

Not recommended.

I found Greens Demolishion and Earthworks to be proffessional and prompt in the demolishion of our home. The staff in the office are quick to respond to questions and are very helpfull.
The guys on site were very good at there job and made sure the site was tidy and secure at the end of each day. The excavator driver was flawless and was impressive to watch him manouver a huge machine around the site without disturbing the neighbours.
I have and will highly recommend to others.

My neighbour had some cowboys pull down his home, leaving us asbestos to be a concern over our home, I checked as another house being pulled down over the road. Green demolition was professional they removed the asbestos properly and safely not like the other mob. They also pulled down a house with less noise and professionally, unlike the next door neighbours mob who were unprofessional. They even reassured me and explained what they were going to do as I informed them did not want same as previous building by another. RECOMMEND THEM

We had an excellent experience with Green demolition. Very patient customer service, very professional work done. Love that they go the extra mile to try and reuse items before demolition.

If you're demolishing a house and you want to stay friends with your neighbours then these are the people you want. They were courteous, very tidy, and answered any questions we had about what they were doing. They were so careful about anything coming over the fence onto our property. Given the overgrown nature of the site they were working on it was inevitable that some twigs would land on our driveway but these guys put them back over the fence. It might seem weird to be giving a review to a company that we were not employing ourselves, but we have had less than ideal experiences with demolition in the past.
