Grange Burn Motel reviews
41What a great find. The staff were friendly and accomadating. The room was spacious with a great view overlooking the garden and pool area. There was no road noise, which meant a good sleep. Great value for money. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not open at the moment due to a lack of chef. Just outside of Hamilton on the road to Melbourne.
Fabulous in every way pay when you get there is what I love plenty of parking big rooms clean sheets big windows overlooking the pool and garden staff are fantastic
Manager Peter is absolute rude without even us saying a word when we went to check in. He has some issues.
Go there if you wish to pay someone to disrespect yourself without any reason.
The Manager Pete was very friendly. Our room was quiet, neat, spacious and tidy.
We had difficulty accessing the WiFi
Absolutely disgusted in the “manager” who was not only rude on the phone when organising a two night stay but rude on arrival.
We had Travelled 10 hours from NSW to Hamilton VIC to be told to leave because my partner was exhausted from the travel and said one swear word when trying to organise payment.
9pm at night trying to organise another stay elsewhere was ridiculous.
I would NOT recommend this place at all, the so called Manager needs to learn some serious Bedside manners.
Was a pitty about covit, we were all having a great time till then, hope to be back sometime soon. Hoping your staff are ok also.
Manager was extremely rude. 3 of us stayed for three nights, our rooms weren't cleaned the 1st night. We were told we could not use the pool because apparently he had just cleaned it after 12 years? Was told off for sitting outside my room on one of the chairs from inside the room when there was no outdoor chairs. Was told directly from the manager saying he is sick of people like us who don't empty our rubbish bins into the skip bin which was way up the back! He expected us to clean our own rooms. He whinged to us about not eating dinner in his restaurant. The list could go on. Others staying there reported similar rude encounters.
Basically, the manager is an arrogant, money hungry and petty man.
Worst service ever after travelling Aus for 20 odd years
Not recommended, obviously.
The manager is very rude, arrogant and aggressive. Told me straight out that I shouldn’t book on Booking.com. He expected us to clean our own rooms. He whinged to us about not eating dinner in his restaurant. Everything is over priced. This place is going backwards I was here 2 years when the old lady Joan was the manager and the chef was friendly red hair fella.
Lovely spacious rooms, recently refurbished, nice owner who actively sought feedback on possible improvements to menu. We had a large family group and it suited us perfectly.
Guy running it is grumpy and weirdly forward. Changed breakfast time without notice saying “I decide when you eat” Would not recommend
The room is very nice but the owner was very rude, after assuming he’s just having a bad day I was met repeatably with hostility and accusations. He even cancelled breakfast which is written runs from 7-9 on the board but when attempting to get breakfast at 8: 30 was told it was already closed, I then asked if it could be opened but he was too busy cleaning rooms already and it’s up to his discretion if the breakfast stay open for the allocated time. I recommend staying anywhere else
Owner was very friendly and welcoming
Large rooms very clean bath room big with lovely showers Will highly recommend.
We were traveling in a large group With booking at two motels. I am glad we stayed here as most members of our group stayed at another motel and they were very disappointed small rooms not clean. A few moved to Grange Burn when they found out we had large clean rooms.
Nice Motel, good size rooms.need bit improvement.
Ower and staff members are nice and helpful.
Hope so under new management it runs well.
Good luck
When booking in I was told they don't do breakfast, even though when I booked breakfast was included. Then told not to put bag on spare bed as he would have to remake the bed.the next morning @ 9.15am the power went out in my room & I went looking for someone to see what happened, reception was unattended & no notice to where i could find someone. 30 min later found the manager doing housekeeping! Said he only just found out! Could have done a walk around to occupied rooms to advise situation - motel only 30% full, but no. Would NOT recommend staying
Rooms were not clean. We had a large dead cricket on the floor, used bars of soap from the previous guests were still in the shower and there was rubbish left on the window seal.
Rooms are not sound proof at all. The curtains were falling off the wall. Shower was cold. Only one tiny bar of soap was provided for a room that slept 4 people.
Customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. When we called to confirm our booking we were told we didn’t have a booking (even though we had booked with the same receptionist just the day prior). The owner was extremely rude and made us feel like an inconvenience even though we did not complain about anything while we were there and paid a ridiculously expensive amount for our rooms!
We will not be back.
I had a meal tonight in the restaurant and it was honestly the best meal I have eaten in ages. The fish was as white as snow, well cooked and fresh. The salad was delicious and the chips perfect. The people who run the motel and the restaurant are lovely. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay and eat. Thank you for your hospitality.
Hosts fitted us into a family room (early in the day) even though only 2 adults 9 CHECK IN IS AT 2PM NORMALLY) at a reduced price, very nice people, gardens beautiful, rooms are huge and so is bathroom, double shower. 80s decor but still is clean and tidy. Thanks guys for a pleasant nights rest. We asked for a microwave and there was no problem in supplying one. Nothing was to much hassle.
Spacious, but gloomy rooms. Well starched quality cotton sheets. Comfortable bed. Wifi slower than your 4g. Bathroom not renovated since it opened in 1988 (I know, I was there). Restaurant is inexpensive and menu reminiscent of 1988. Good quality meat, but that's about it. Wine list, both types; red and white. No breakfast on offer (Jan 2021). At all. "There's a Macca's down the road" we're advised. Rated elsewhere as third out of fifteen places to stay in Hamilton. I'd hate to see number 10. Pool green and closed. Occupancy was about five out of 31 units. Staff were very friendly, polite and informative (with a pervading sense of learned helplessness).
Great stay. Comfortable bed. Clean rooms. My only issue would be that the wifi didn't work. Would highly recommend.
The receptionist old lady is very rude and have no patience to answer any queries and also not available at the reception any time. She charged the amount on individual cards for us when group booking is done separately on multiple rooms but she refuses to give individual tax invoices and lies that she has not taken the details of individual cards. Horrible staff to deal with.
