Great food and great variety. Service was wonderful and banquet was good value for money and delicious.

We were very pleased that we were recommended to try Grand Guru tonight. Couldn't fault any of the meals we had. Yummy naans and roti. Partner and son highly recommended the chicken tika starter. My vegetarian meal was great. Friendly staff. Good service. Takeaways were flying out the door. Took a takeaway order back with us to drop off at people who couldn't make it. They purchased the butter chicken along with other stuff and said the butter chicken was so good.
Will definitely be doing the drive to go back.

Fantastic food and great service every time! I travel from Romsey just for the food and have for about 6 years now. Nothing beats the place, not even fancy Indian restaurants in the city can compare. You won’t regret coming here!

Amazing prices for amazing food! Especially the butter chicken with cheesy naan and the spinach paneer. Service was very friendly.

We have eaten at Grand Guru for three years and have always enjoyed the food, tonight not the case.
Goat curry was tough and not very hot, chicken sagwala was luke warm and chicken was dry.
It was quite expensive and unfortunately i dont think we will go back, a shame because it was one of our go to restraunts in Gisborne.

Have tried many other Indian places and always come back to this one, nothing to fault. Butter chicken? AMAZING. Garlic Naan? AMAZING. And the staff are all so friendly and caring? 100% recommend.

4 of us went and had a banquet. Food was amazing. Couldn't fault it. The only problem was we didn't know they closed at 9pm and we were getting looks and hurried up to leave by the staff. We left at 9.45pm and they were straight out behind us and gone which made us feel a bit bad

We were travelling through Gisborne and found this great restaurant. Friendly staff and tasty meal was had by the 4 of us. Would recommend.

Love the food here and the owner is massive cricket fan and summer meals are always augmented by a great chat. Tandoori and Butter Chicken is a fave as well as Rogan Josh.

Very delicious and generous servings. Very impressed with the amount of meat within the curries. Lamb Madras is our favourite - a very unique and different style compared to others we’ve had elsewhere. Butter Chicken is also A1. Staff are friendly. The extreme negative reviewers seem to be nothing but trolls. Picky notes for improvement: plain rice, and please, no more price increases!
