Graina - Bulk Food Store

Went shopping at Grania Moonee Ponds store on Monday 16/05/2022.
Pleased with the products I bought and very pleased with the customer service given by Georgia.

Vegan rocky road to die for, I usually buy about 1kg of this and it's gone in a few days (sometimes less than a day).

Great store and interactions.

I have been customer since a couple of years now. Great local business. The quality of products and the customer service has always been good.

After I picked up my last online order I noticed a week later that a few items were missing. So, I contact Grania and Parul went out of his way to deliver me the missing items the same day! That is what I call an outstanding customer service!

Cheaper spices than Coles or Woolies and they actually have flavour! Great shop. Great way to reduce waste too. Lovely staff.

Love this place, I mainly come here for the fresh milk from a dairy a little pricey than the usual milk, but so much better

They can’t even open on time. And when this was brought to their attention they were very rude and defensive about it. Disappointing.

And as you can see from their response below, they are still being defensive. Yes, an apology was eventually given, but initially I was just given excuses, and was simply dismissed for going to a competitor rather than being encouraged to continue shopping with them. Not a great way to build a business, or develop a good reputation.

I love shopping here. But I was very disappointed to see the staff working on 6/7/20 blatantly misuse their face-masks. When I informed the young man he wasn't wearing his face-mask properly, he couldn't care less! As a nurse working through this pandemic, it was very disappointing and provides further concern on the cleanliness and bio-safety while in the store. I will no longer be shopping here!

Products are great, I usually buy rice, organic teas and sweets.
I have to admit though that chocolate coated products are a bit overpriced.
The owner is a very nice lady, always mannered and helpful.
Unfortunately her workers don’t match her behavior, especially one girl in particular who has no manners, never greets customers and she’s pretty rude during the transactions.
This has happened plenty of times and kinda makes me not want to come back.
Also the workers don’t have any knowledge of the products, a couple of times I needed some information and they struggled to give me an answer.
Overall it’s a nice bulk store but they definitely need to improve a couple of things, I hope they will.

Finally a bulk food store with reasonable prices!
Pantry staples like beans, lentils and most herbs are very affordable. If you’re sick of supermarket dried herbs in little plastic packets, Grania is the answer to your prayers.

Staff are all very helpful and if you sign up for a free membership, you will have access to monthly store-wide discounts.

This is not a BYO container store. Rather, you fill up the brown paper bags provided, each of which has a barcode attached. You can either bring the bags back to refill each time, or you could compost them and get a new paper bag.

I love this store! I would, however, like to see even more Australian-grown/made products in these types of stores, as shipping/flying food all over the world no doubt nullifies most benefits of using less packaging.

Love the concept but I bought some organic corn chips from here on Saturday, they where stale and inedible.
It's a real shame and deters me from purchasing from here as it's not cheap either.

Great experience. I felt a little intimidated at first but the shop keeper caught my deer in the headlights look and showed me round. I felt right at home and just looked around at all the yummy things on offer for ages. Such yummy products. And so nice to see plastic free shopping become normalised. I'll be back! Thanks!

I've bought dark chocolate coated peanuts. The layout of the store, it's self service with hygienic paper packaging, as well as customer service and senior's discount deserve top marks. But sadly the quality didn't match that experience. Chocolate was mediocre at most, each ball only included a fraction of a peanut, which tasted stale (instead of crunchy). I've tried it the next day in case there was a glitch in my perception, but my verdict hasn't changed. Great shopping experience, but sadly below average product. Post response note: I appreciate the response from the owner and went back to try dark chocolate coated almonds and they were much better (contained whole, crunchy almonds and chocolate quality was better). This is a lovely shop but the products should be checked diligently as they are connoisseur items. Consequently I've increased my rating to 3 stars.

The best food store I have ever visited.
Wide variety of nuts, grains, pulses, spices, tea, flour and rice.some are organic too.
I liked the different flavours of Tea herbs.
The most important point to specify we can by the quantity of our choice.
The staff are very friendly.the hardest thing for them arranging the bags with right stickers.
I wish this business grow rapidly and will open multiple branches.

I adore this place. It’s very “user friendly” from the superb customer service (they really do go above and beyond), to the option of online ordering (pick up or delivery) or shopping in store.

Lots of herbs, spices, grains, teas, snacks and they make mylk on site! They also stock fresh nut butters, ghee, kombucha and laundry items.

Good promos each month. Besides the super friendly staff and good vibes, the store takes stock suggestions and best of all (yes, it gets better), it’s cheaper than some other bulk food stores.

Close to public transport so very accessible. Have a wonder around the junction and stop here on your way out.

We only got some sweets from this place, yogurt coated apricots and chocolate covered raspberries and they are literally the best sweets I have had in my life. They have almost everything you would need in terms of cooking but they don't stock all the extras that you would find at a chain bulk store. It's good to support local businesses like this wonderful little store.
Don't worry, if you forget your jars you can buy one in store or use a paper bag.

My favourite bulk food store! They always have everything I need without the wasteful packaging and for a reasonable price.

This store is extraordinary, unique and love it because it is exactly what I am looking for in terms of nutrient rich, whole foods and healthy ingredients. The freshest nuts I have ever come across and I a so thrlled about the homemade plant mylk.healthier alternatives to supermarket brands. The specials are a bonus too. Best Store ever!

Amazing array of high quality products with friendly and helpful staff. Was blown away by the stuff they had there. Ended up buying more than I had planned.

Members specials day is my favourite time of the month to stock up on all my nuts, herbs and spices and exquisite tea blends.
