Joining Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Burwood has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve never felt more confident. Robbie, Ally and the rest of the team welcome you to your first class like a long lost friend and you leave every class with a smile on your face.

This place is amazing with an extremely friendly environment, it is the best place in my opinion to start a martial art for beginners. If you have any second thoughts of sighing up for a marital art either for social anxiety reasons or too scared to take that first step, don't be scared. Take the leap of faith and you wont regret it.

Highly recommend this place if you're looking to get into BJJ or self-defence. Lead instructor Robbie and the team create an amazing environment where you'll be supported and taught in a way that'll allow you to build confidence and sound techniques. Bonus: facilities are really clean, well-equipped and aren't stinky like many BJJ gyms!

What an AMAZING team of instructors! My 5yo loves going to the classes. Every class has the same structure so the kids know what to expect. Classes are fun but kids also learn about principles of Jiujitsu and proper grappling techniques. Best thing I have enrolled my son in.

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Burwood is awesome, l can’t believe how good Robbie is with the kids and how much fun he makes the classes along with how welcomed he makes the kids feel. He has a great way with the kids and this is obvious by the smiles at the end of each class.
I am so glad my son Max has taken an interests in Jiu-Jitsu and l have Robbie to thank for that.

I joined as a beginner with zero previous martial arts experience. Not once did I feel intimidated or nervous. In fact, I've never felt more welcome than before.

It is obvious that the staff and trainers have instilled the values of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to the students. Everyone is humble, respectful and patient to each other despite having varying levels of skill during training.

The course structure is well thought out and has clear levels of progression. It keeps you motivated to come back for more.

Special shout out to Robbie for providing this space to learn being an excellent teacher. Robbie's depth of knowledge and skill of fitness, jiu-jitsu and martial arts is immense.

We were referred to Gracie Burwood by a friend who has been sending their children there for about a month. Although my son was hesitant when he first joined, he still sat and watched his first class. The second time we went back he was a lot more comfortable, familiar and confident and we have been going back ever since.
The women empowerment classes are also really useful and I wish I knew about this earlier. I wish all girls were taught these self defense skills from a young age.

Awesome place. Robbie makes everyone feel at home. It's great fun and everyone there is so nice. The staff at the desk helped me heaps with getting a bigger Gi sent in. And we're very generous and nice about it all. Could not recommend this place highly enough.

Gracie Jiu Jitsu Burwood is such an amazing place. I instantly felt like I belonged there when I tried my first class. Everyone is so supportive, kind & respectful of each other making it a safe learning environment for everyone. The instructors are incredible (and funny) & very thorough and clear in their teachings making each class so rewarding, enjoyable & addictive. I never leave classes confused, I always retain the lessons due to the brilliant structured system they have. I can’t recommend this place enough. Not only will you learn crucial self defense & life saving techniques suitable for anyone but you’ll also have fun doing it! This is by far the best investment I’ve ever made.:)

I can't fit all the praises the Burwood Gracie Jiu Jitsu gym and instructor, Robbie, are owed into this review. I do the Gracie Combatives classes, but have also watched the Bully Proof and Women's Empowerment classes. Robbie and the Gracie philosophy makes learning very effective self defense techniques a family friendly experience in a welcoming and safe environment. My best advice if you got as far as reading this review is to go and watch a class or do a 10 day free membership. The classes and overall program are designed to be flexible and supportive as you learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu through high quality martial arts instruction. Respectful training and safety are ingrained in the gym's culture, which was my main concern when I started. Your time is respected and it's an intense workout, albeit you choose your intensity/speed with whom you are partnered. If you are looking for a novel way to get in shape, build confidence, or find an outlet to replace full contact sports of your youth give Garcie Jiu-Jitsu a try!

Gracie JJ Burwood made me enjoy JJ again after 15 years. The reason was not the Gracie methodology. It was the family environment and the hard work I see Robbie putting day & night, 7 days a week, towards its customers.

Love my experience here! Robbie and Keith are amazing and knowledgeable. Robbie can simplify all techniques for the bullyproof class. Your kids should learn Gracie jiu jitsu the focus on verbal deescalation and teaching the kids that they can defend themselves and that bullying is not ok.
