Great gym and facility. Please make it 24 hour access like most modern gyms. This is the only thing stopping it being 5 stars. Despite being a larger franchise it is a really nice community feel to it.

This has got to be the worst gym I’ve ever been to and experienced. The customer service is awful. I was forced to pay an additional $250 late fee due to the gym’s inability to cancel my membership properly. They do not respond to emails and are horrific to deal with. Such a waste of energy and so frustrated with trying to cancel membership. Plus the change in hours without notification is so so bad

This is one of worse gym and customer service my husband experienced. We have email in writing and said that the manager will refund the money of membership due to health condition. They are not only not refund money and they charge extra 2 month membership fee. Even he can not go to gym. The manager change mind all the time and it is totally abuse customer' rights. When you join in and they will be nice and as soon as you join in, they totally change.

It is very sad that the gym has suddenly decided to change their opening hours without informing me (I guess I was not the only one) in advance. I chose this gym because of its location and initial opening hours till 9pm on Monday-Thursday (which was suitable for me to avoid peak times due to covid risk plus it allowed me to go there after work).

But instead of offering any compensations, they haven't even paid back the overcharged amount when they've changed the day of the bank debit of fees and have deducted fees twice on the same week (no explanation was made if they will pay back later or not at all).

9.99/quarterly coaching fee is also very unclear as they don't usually ask each member to conduct (no emails or notifications) counselling sessions with trainers. They have never sent me any reminders until I have questioned one of the staff at the counter. They simply deduct fees quarterly. For those who don't require personal trainers, these fees doesn't seem to make sense.

I am very curious how the management have been treating their customers in this way for many years without being warned by consumer affairs?

Please also at least maintain your equipment more frequently as I saw some of them were not in safe conditions (some of the codes on the weight machines were worn out, etc.) and were often broken. That could cause injuries on users.

I enjoy the great community that has built up over the years. We come to Group Fitness to see our friends, work out together, share our life experiences and afterwards enjoy coffee at one of the excellent nearby coffee shops.

I’ve joined this gym since 2013 and had mostly good experience with this club. It’s located close to me with walking distance - the gym floor area is bit small but convenient.

Lately the gym suddenly changed its open hours without consulting or notifying anyone in advance. The open hours have been delayed at least half an hour each day, and closing hours have been brought forward 1-2 hours, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Due to work commitment I can only come to the gym later on those days but now can’t finish my workouts before closing.

I’ve been told by the staff that there is no way to change it back.

How disappointing!

Randomly changed opening hours, vintage and broken equipment, been a member here for a while and it's a shame that it's progressively getting worse. Great staff, just not worth the membership fees for the quality of the gym equipment

I always feel good when I am able to give positive feedback. Goodlife has changed my life style and I am now hooked on getting my exercise regularly. The place is not only close to home but has a great atmosphere and well equiped. Never fail to find a car park lot, has a dedicated floor for parking. Very supportive staff as well. Thanks.

I am giving Goodlife Balwyn 1 star for being a gym conveniently located for me. I chose them because they open at 5: 30am which is convenient for me to exercise before going to work. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with some of the staff including management. Firstly, a staff member opening the gym arrived at 5: 40am (10 mins late) and had no idea how to turn the treadmills on. He asked me if I knew how to! By the time he worked it out it was 5: 50 which meant I lost 20mins of my workout.
Within a couple of weeks later, another staff member opening the gym just didn’t show up and many gym users gave up waiting and left. One of the personal trainers arrived at 5: 55am and opened the gym. I lost nearly 30mins of my workout which I was not happy about as I am on a tight time schedule before heading to work. I emailed management to advise them and no one has replied. That is unacceptable customer service.
On 2 separate occasions 2 staff members had no idea how to turn the fans on. I approached them at the desk; on one occasion, the girl told me that the fuse must have blown up and yet eventually, the fans came on. This morning when I asked the guy at the counter to turn the fans on as it was warm, he walked around but didn’t turn the fans on.
I have signed up a 1 year contract with Goodlife Balwyn after the lockdown feeling bad for gyms that couldn’t operate for months. I certainly cannot recommend this gym to my friends and I am counting down the months until my contract is over after which time I will not be renewing my contract with them. Lack of customer service, staff that don’t care.

Pretty disappointed with the opening/closing hours. Twice now I've came at its been closed (5am on a weekday and 5pm on a Sunday). I honestly just assumed that it would be open those times. It is by far the worst goodlife I've been to but unfortunately now I'm closest goodlife. The rest are much bigger, cleaner and most are 24hrs.

Goodlife has been my gym for the two years I have been in Melbourne. I was able to access other Goodlife clubs with my membership. Each gym is quite unique but have all the essential equipments and more! I love how spacious it is and some even have a pool, steam room, and sauna! Definitely recommend:)

Open after a 3 month covid19 closure. But you need to book a time slot so the equipment is re-cleaned ready for the next time slot, and numbers are limited for social distancing. The people who work there are as friendly and helpful as ever. It has all the gym equipment you need and lots of classes.

Horrible and disappointing experience with the trainers and employees here especially the male workers. Absolutely disgusted with how they spoke and interacted with members of the gym. The gym is dirty and the equipment isn’t clean and they expect you to pay for this gym. I would suggest to anyone to re think going to this place and take your business elsewhere. I would give no stars if I could.

This is my favourite GoodLife. The facilities are new and in great condition. Classes are great, staff are lovely. Great club.
Would be nice to have more parking options but that's it.

This gym would have been perfect for my daily routine as Good Life exists in multiple locations. I have had a really good experience dealing Michael, he was really informative over the phone, when i came into the gym he has showed me everything around and gave me a really good explanation on what the gym is, what kind of good and local people go there, how busy it gets and locations of change rooms and taps.

Now if it wasnt for Michael, his good workmanship and great personality this Review would have been 1 star and i do believe that he is worth 5 stars and more but this gym is in need of a renovation and new equipment, ive been to 2 good life gyms and both of them were in a very bad State, the ceiling tiles are so bent and old that they are almost falling off the ceiling. Equipment is very old and basically I cant see my self having a Good life while going to these very badly maintained gyms in Hoppers Crossing and Balwyn

I want to say I like this place but it’s really filthy. The change rooms, showers and sauna need to be scrubbed with bleach. The toilets need exhaust fans installed. And they need to vacuum every day. This tuft of hair is still stuck in the carpet from last week!
