Golden Country Motel & Caravan Park reviews
50 Very nice, and very peacful.
Unfortunatly wont be going back. They now charge $10 per night for dogs
My trip was short notice, and had a lot of travel logistics; Terri made my short stay in Maryborough very easy to organise!
Chose this caravan park as they have ensuites. Nothing fancy and you don't get soap, shampoo etc supplied but that is fine as we had that in the van. There was hand soap at the basin. They are clean and laundry facility was very clean and well supported with baskets etc for clean clothes to be transported back to the van. Location is more on the out skirts of Maryborough. We did end up leaving later than 10am due to mixing the daylight saving up on the clocks/watches and owners wife wasn't overly warm on that. They also charged us for the deposit twice so watch the payment process. Very comfortable park and the owners were excellent on giving us a larger site for our sons tent. They also allow dogs which is a big bonus for us.
Great accommodation. Everything we needed in a room. Terri & Dirk very friendly and loved their dog Beau. Easy walk to club for a very nice meal and if weather was warm enough we would've had a swim in the pool. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in Maryborough.
The park is in. Great location, close to the Main Street, and just over the road from the golf course.
We lived in this park when the previous owner had it and we loved it. Not now. Yes the have made a few improvements, but we were told when booking in if we went over 4km we would be booted out (could have been put more friendly), I think she went faster than that in her golf buggy, she did not seem nice. The bed was not made properly, the electric blanket connection was sticking in my back and when I pulled the sheet back it wasn't even fitted to the mattress, just tossed on the bed had to fix that. Lastly, a caravan park is a public place with children playing and people walking around, dogs are supposed to be on a lead in a public place. The owners of this park must think they are above the law they let their Kelpie roam around the park wherever he wants whenever he wants during the day poking his head into caravans and cabins when he wants. Some people are not happy being around dogs and they should take that into consideration, lock him up. It really intimidated and frightened my little dog, who was always on a lead. In my opinion this park has gone down hill and we won't be staying there again. Funny how she can't respond to bad reviews only the good ones. Reckoning she can't recall the stay or the person, ha ha. We were in cabin 12.
Waited 20 mins at reception before I seen anyone.
Took about the same time to check in and get the key.
Terri was unsure if she would have enough linen for the 2 nights for the single bunk beds.
Supplied with a 200ml long life milk for 4 adults for 2 nights.
We were quite loud on the first night and deservedly so, were told so via a note stuck to the door. However, the 2nd night, we were sitting inside eating nachos and then through the door appears Dirk, (uninvited and just walked in), advising us to keep it down as there is a curfew of 10pm, this was 9-30pm and barely any noise.
They came and took the top 2 bunk mattresses from our cabin due to their failure to accommodate 2 other guests in a bed.
Was supposed to stay the 3rd night too, but chose another motel in Maryborough.
WILL NOT RETURN TO THE GOLDEN COUNTRY!
Overall a great place to stay. Loved the powered on suite sites.

Terri and Dirk friendly approachable, all park clean sites all ensuites. Lovely surprise. Pets welcome, dog and kitten had fun and dog run is great, bus at door to city centre. All in all will return
Bring your own blankets and pillows, there were no soaps only one towel no bin bags, worst experience! Lady manager was behaving like a spy on us and was very RUDE!
Fantastic! Recommend for couples, families or business travellers. Great hosts very friendly and helpful.will be staying here again if we are back this way. A1
This has to be one of the best cabins in a caravan park I have stayed in. Clean and spacious with amenities well stocked and yes, a lovely warm doona on the bed. Terri was really obliging as I was a late check in and I walked in from the cold into a warm cabin at 9.30pm. Both Terri and Dirk were wonderful hosts. Highly recommend this park as it is well organised and a quiet place to stay.
Nice clean room with comfortable bed and all facilities we needed. Friendly welcome by Terri.
Great spot, across the road from the golf club and bistro, delicious meals and reasonably priced too. My cabin was very comfortable and the reception was awesome too. I checked out the main caravan park in town and they were rude, so I ended up here and I'm glad I did. It was quiet and peaceful, hot showers as well.
Room is a bit small and awkward for two who have limited movements and CPAP machine. Location is ideal.
What a wonderful stay we had. Efficient check in, clean room, price was very good and amenities excellent. Will definitely come back!

Best park I have been to in a long time
Super relaxing
My husband, our fur baby & I have been here a few times, & each time both Terri & Dirk have been wonderful to deal with, always helpful, accommodating & happy to stop for a chat which is lovely. We Highly recommend The Golden Country Motel.
Very welcoming managers Dirk & Terri. Stayed overnight in a two bedroom cabin which was well presented and with all amenities in good condition.
Crisp white sheets on beds, great pillows and pristine towels.
Would definitely stay again and recommend to other travellers.
