Golden Bamboo Chinese Restaurant

My family and I have been enjoying the food from here for as long as I can remember (decades!) I've introduced friends whom are quite fussy and they love it. Hoping to dine in again as soon as lockdown over - love your Dim Sims & combination birds nest!

The wonderful owners have finally decided to retire after many decades of managing the store.

The best dim sims in Melbourne (yes better than the South Melbourne ones!) and also the best sweet and sour source I've ever tasted.

I wish them both well in their retirement and thankyou for always being so friendly over the years and for serving such delicious food

Ordered through door dash a few hours ago to which when opening the packet, the meat had a weird smell to it as if it was off - also had to wait over an hour for it to be delivered since there was “an issue” when I contacted the restaurant to see what was happening with my food.

Avoided eating the meat (had 1-2 pieces) as I did pay $40 to eat the whole meal, only to get food poisoning later.

I’m so glad that I didn’t order the same meal for my mum because she said she was not hungry.

I don’t know if all these other 5 star reviews are fake, but from my perspective, close your restaurant down. You do not cook with “fresh ingredients” like you guys claim - and get the wrong person (seriously) sick, you will get sued.

I hope you do, because restaurants like you, wait for something wrong to happen before you change, literal scum.

A long-standing family business and much loved gem of the area. Has been serving quality Chinese food for many years. The food here is lovely!

Canto food run by team of two (ie be prepared to wait). Food tasted alright.

The restaurant looks very 70s looking.

I buy takeaway lunch boxes and dim sims from here weekly.
The prices are reasonable.
The food is always delicious and the owners are very nice people.

My parents move into Noble park over 25 years ago, every time I eat from here I get to revisit my childhood. It;s like a time capsule. Please never change.
Try the chicken omlette. I'm border line addicted to them

We found it hard to get through via phone, but that was OK. The service was very good, very pleasant and polite staff. Food quantity was ample. We will certainly go back.

This chinese restaurantis the best in the state we relocated to gippsland and miss this place so much wish they were able to open up down here we have a great need fantastic food

I added what I ordered and it totalled to $56, I paid $71. I asked the lady why the big price difference and she told me it's because of the service fee. I find it ridiculous I paid a $15 service fee and I couldn't even get a teaspoon for my 2-year-old to eat. Also I had to keep going to the register everytime I wanted to ask something. Definitely won't be eating in anymore!

Not necessarily the cheapest Chinese restaurant around but the food is good and prices still reasonable. Typically basic decor but good for a meal or takeaway if in the area.

Food was so bland! I asked for garlic sauce stir fried veggies and tasted like frozen veggies thawed in water! My partner had a chicken meal and that also had no taste

My partner and I felt like Chinese, we had tried another Chinese restaurant in the area and it was good.
However tonight, we decided to try this restaurant after doing laundry next door last week and noticed the restaurant was full and had heaps of customers come and go.

100/10 recommend.
I got battered chicken with plum sauce and it was TO DIE FOR.my partner has never seen me so happy while eating food haha.
He got the Mongolian beef and fried rice, there was enough there for 2 meals! And he said it was the best Mongolian beef he's had in a LONG time.

The prices were also pretty low which is why the quality has shocked us so much. Real chicken, real beef, real pork, real prawns etc.

Our dog also approved the prawn crackers?

Rang Saturday night for a home delivery. The girl said it would take an hour, I said no problems. Her reply was I should order on the app, it would make it easier for me. I told her it would not be easier for me as I had never done that before but did she want me to order some where else. Her final comment before she hung up was, yes we to busy, go some where else, so I did and it was most enjoyable

Amazing! This was our first time eating from Golden Bamboo & all the reviews were spot on. Prices were good. FRESH every single dish & the prawn crackers. King prawns were delicious. Best spring roll, in fact I said to my partner this has to be the best Chinese li’ve had for many years. Definitely will return & we highly recommend. Thank you to the chef

The owner Ping is a good soul. Her special fried rice is arguably the best you will have. Authentic Chinese food and reasonably priced. I have been a Customer for over 30 years.

An absolutely amazing quality Chinese restaurant! The food is fantastic here! Beautiful fresh and authentic! The fried rice is among the best you will ever taste!

I only buy Special Fried Rice last night to go with my Manchurian Chicken n vegetables. A gr8 choice bc I read the reviews n loved the rice as it's not stuck together like other places. Yummmm

A hidden gem. It's one of those old classic Cantonese restaurants. Yes, it has Lemon Chicken, it has Sweet and Sour Pork and has Cantonese Beef or beef and Black bean.but they do them correctly - the way they taste when you were a kid going to try Chinese food.

We had a few dishes including chicken satay skewers, combination stir fry and some chow mein.as well as the old classic Sweet and Sour Pork. All flavoursome and came out hot and freshly cooked.

The fried rice we had was perfectly wok tossed and had a flavour you just can't replicate at home.

It's a place you would drive pass many times because they haven't kept the decor up, and as you know we eat with our eyes first, but the food definitely made up for it. I'm giving this a 5 out of 5 purely on them making Classic Cantonese dishes. If you don't Classic Cantonese dishes, then go elsewhere, but if you do, you won't be able to find much better.
