Goethe-Institut Melbourne reviews
22My time at the Goethe-Institut was really good. I learned a lot. It was a good experience.
Great place, amazing teachers. Courses are comprehensive and invaluable to VCE students. 100% would recommend going to for VCE preparation
Strongly recommend! I think it’s super helpful for all students learning german.super friendly staff and love the environment
Great course and excellent teaching! Completed two courses with Marie Dingert and Miriam Garrido, both are very patient and teach the subject with great passion and enthusiasm. Would highly recommend the course and both teachers to anyone looking to learn German. Courses are structured, fun and engaging with a great deal of flexibility. Was not sure how much could be learned via an online course but with great teachers as mentioned it makes the task so much easier and manageable.
Great experience! I did a short grammar intensive VCE course over a week and it was extremely useful. Extremely reasonably priced and our teacher was absolutely legendary. We used a lot of different learning methods and my small class had a great time!
I did a Grammar course in the school holidays and it was super helpful! It really improved my knowledge of the German language. Danke schön!:)
Both courses I’ve done at the Goethe have been incredibly useful in improving my knowledge of the german language - especially the grammar! Vielen dank!
Fantastic bunch of teachers and excellent course materials too. Definitely recommended for any level of Language learners. Im glad i decided to go with Goethe Institute for my A1.1, A1.2 courses. Great investment.
I have been studying at Goethe Institute for 6 weeks and have been very happy with my teacher, Miriam. However, most of the learning is by self-study with their online system, which is pedagogically disastrous. The self-study component’s workload is extreme, and it contains tons of vocabulary and grammar not covered in class. This means students do not understand what they are doing and are essentially wasting their time and money.
I wrote to the director of the Goethe Institute, Ms Sonja Griegoschewski, to provide feedback about this and suggest they lower the pace of the course and have more scaffolding (I am an experienced language teacher myself with over 20 year teaching experience). Unfortunately, Sonja seemed dismissive and was defensive about the course structure, claiming that the workload is manageable. I feel that the centre is treating students as cash cows at the price of $549 per term and fails to deliver a solid language learning experience. I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone.
I attend a Intensive VCE preparation and grammar course at the Goethe-Institute and walked out feeling 500x more prepared for 3/4 German. The teacher was excellent and was able to help everyone regardless of what level they were at. The facilities are beautiful and it’s a very comfortable and welcoming environment to learn in. Thank you for offering this invaluable resource to compliment my learning!
It was wonderful to complete a German intensive grammar course with the Geortha institute. Thankyoi
I attended the VCE Preparation course: the teacher was great and the course was very helpful. The class environment was very friendly and he provided many resources that are relevant to my school course:)
Did the VCE grammar course. The course was very helpful and the teacher was really good at explaining the grammar.
I’ve been taking VCE Grammar course in Goethe-Institut Melbourne. This institute offers engaging, interactive courses and useful resources for us VCE students which enable us to brush up our grammar skills.
Great teaching! The VCE intensive course has made me feel much more prepared for units 3/4 German.
Great place to learn German! Even if you have already learnt some grammar, it’s a great place to consolidate your knowledge and you still learn some new things. Staff are very friendly as well:) You can make some nice friends too: D
Amazing course, great teacher, great experience! Definitely recommend if you are interesting in furthering your knowledge of the German language. Definitely recommend!
