Many people think they know what they want in a vacuum cleaner. But aesthetics and price is not always a key indicator of the functionality and overall value. Jay was extremely helpful and efficient in his explanation to recommending us with an excellent product. 2 years on and the vacuum is in excellent working condition.

Dropped by the other day to get some wiring repair done. Within 20 minutes it was repaired and ready for pick-up.

Honestly, go in and let Jay know what your needs are and listen to his advice. A genuine sales person who is truly willing to help his customers. Thanks buddy!

I purchased a carpet shampooer from Godfrey's Richmond on the 23rd of July 2021.

On first use of this item I noticed it failed to extract the solution that I had dispersed using the machine over my carpet. Last week I took the machine in to Godfrey's Richmond. The Salesman couldn't work out why it was not working at the time. He kept the machine and took down my details. I contacted him yesterday only to be told the machine was 'missing washers' and he had 'put some washers into my machine' to get it working. Considering this is a brand new machine I am unsure why it requires washers to repair it. I have 0 faith in the product and am not interested in keeping something that is clearly not fit for purpose. I was told by the salesman that I was not allowed a refund and had to contact the main Godfrey's HQ. I did this and explained what had happened. The man on the phone told me they had the option to offer me a repair, replacement or refund. On this occasion they were only willing to offer me a repair as the machine had not major faults. Apparently a vacuum not doing its main job - extraction - is not a major fault.

I have now contacted the ACCC and submitted a formal complaint to get my refund.

I am so disgusted in the lack of customer service from Godfrey's and am frustrated at myself for not reading the reviews as a lady has gone through something very similar.

Godfreys Richmond never disappoints. I have used the store previously and Jay is always very helpful and polite, knows his products well and offers valid advice. I purchased a Vorwork Kobold VK200 upright vacuum cleaner which came with lots of accessories. The machine is perfect for the areas that I have and is lightweight and a dream to use.

Purchased a faulty Hoover vacuum from this store 6 months ago. Initially the store took no responsibility and directed me to Godfrey's head office who sent me out a new head that made absolutely no difference and the vacuum still didnt work. Went back to the store to seek a return or exchange in line with my Australian consumer rights, they said they were not able to provide one of these options and could only offer a free repair, which I reluctantly agreed to. This was over a month ago, I am still without a vacuum so again requested a refund or replacement, only to be told they could not offer this as it was Godfrey's responsibility not theirs and they did not know when my repair would be ready.you have a big 'GODDREYS' sign over your door, you trade as Godfrey's, therefore you are legally responsible for providing me a refund should I seek one after selling me a product with a major defect (i.e. A vacuum that does not vacuum). Will be taking the matter up with ACCC if issue is not resolved ASAP. Long story short, I would not recommend shopping at this store if you value your money.

I have revisted this store several times over the past two years. Same manager runs it. Most professional. Knows his product. Nothing is too much trouble. 110% personalized customer service. Always able to solve any issues I have with vacuum cleaner. Always has good prices for any purchases or repair job. I will never go anywhere else. I always recommend this store to friends when needed. I highly recommend any one reading this review: Go here first before you buy a vac!

We visited the Richmond store as we were confused between stick vacuum cleaners VS traditional corded vacuum cleaners or both. In the end walked out with Tineco Pure One S12 and dropped the idea of keeping 2 separate vacuum cleaners. The product is amazing, does exactly what was explained and saves us the trouble of storing 2 separate vacuum cleaners. In today's day where most things are purchased at looking online reviews and videos it was great to see a traditional sales approach of understanding customer needs and offering solutions.

Thank you to Jay who sorted my stuck vacuum barrel with speed and knowledge. For me it was a massive problem which he fixed in a few minutes. THANK YOU Jay, I will recommend your outlet in Richmond, gladly and without hesitation.

Went in today because my steam cleaner wasn't steaming. Jay took care of it in around 5mins and had my beloved steam mop working good as new! He also showed me a stick vac (hoover) that blew my mind and Jay demonstrated how it was better than I Dyson for a quater of the price. Jay is very knowledgeable, has great cleaning tips and provides great customer service.

Terrible store. Sold 2x dodgy vacs in a row within the space of a month. Told money back guarantee on the 2nd one. When it blew up just wanted to sell another one. Had to get into a screaming match to get refund. Got refund went across the road to Harvey Norman. Bought a Miele for almost half the price and its still going strong 7yrs later. Avoid.

Recommended! This is *THE BEST* place for a vacuum! The service was impeccable and the staff were incredibly knowledgeable, giving me a full run-down of the products and their specifics. Brilliantly competitive on prices, too! I can't recommend this place enough! X

Staff member finishes his cigarette while we wait inside. The store reeks of it by this stage. He then proceeded to disassemble and test the vacuum for 10 minutes before admitting that 'we don't service Dyson' despite the fact that we called ahead of time to check. He suggests that we ask at Harvey Norman where the staff have been nothing but helpful.

Customer service was unacceptable. Spent time finishing his cigarette before attending to customers. Very very unprofessional and unpleasant. Then finally entered the store which reaked of stale cigarettes and was quiet rude. Will not be returning to a Godfreys store in the future. Thankfully Harvey Norman was more than happy to help and offered excellent customer service. Extremely dissapointing.

Have called a couple of times looking for some vac bags that are listed on the website. Both times I have been told by an employee that a manager will call me back. I will be taking my business to Melbourne cleaning supplies as they have better customer service.

I purchased a replacement head for my vacuum cleaner from them on the weekend and the service, from both of the guys I dealt with, was professional, knowledgeable and courteous.

Fantastic customer service! We went in unsure of what we wanted, so he took us through the different options, gave us a demonstration of how different vacuum heads worked on different surfaces, and wasn't pushy at all. We left with a hoover, and a free extra filter for a very reasonable price. I'd 100% recommend this place if you're looking for a new vacuum from friendly staff who know what they're talking about.

Great service. Under new management. The smoker has obviously left the building! I purchased a Hoover yesterday and the guy was very helpful and courteous (& no cigarette smoke!) Don't be put off by earlier reviews. I definitely recommend Godfrey's Richmond.

I went in unsure of what to get and ended up with a fantastic vacuum cleaner at the recommendation of the (non-smoking!) staff member. After-sales service has been great too. Very prompt and professional.
