Got the deep fried mars bar. Batter was too thick so the dough was still a bit doughy/raw. An extra 30-40 secs wouldve been good

The staff can get overwhelmed by the quantity of orders at peak times and there isn't an obvious supervisor around assisting the teenagers preparing the food. Orders either get lost, sold to other customers or forgotten altogether at times. The food isn't too bad. Can't fault the fish and chips but the salads are overpriced and pretty average for what you pay for. Order online as you're usually guaranteed to get your meal.

Quite literally took 50 minutes to get our food, and unfortunately the food was underwhelming. The chips are fried in that cheap oil and have that weird artificial flavour to them, the potato cakes were soggy, and the aussie burger was definitively mid. I believe there were nowhere near enough staff employed or rostered for the time of day, which contributed massively to the wait. There were only 3 people in the kitchen for a crowd of about 35 people waiting at its peak, and it wasn't even that busy when we arrived. I would urge anyone visiting mornington to find another shop to grab fish and chips from as this was a waste of time and $50, and I have no idea why it's so popular other than the fact it's the closest one to the beach walk.

Fish doesn’t taste fresh. It was quite fishy and could be frozen.
Salad is clearly not fresh, visible brown edges on the lettuce.

I was feeling really depressed and I bought a box of chips and it made me so happy I gave a five dollar tip

The chips here are so good, my friends and I always come here and get food then eat the down at the beach. Highly recommend so yummy and everyone here is so nice.

Best blue grenadier fish I've ever had! Also love how they don't mind changing normal chips to sweet potato chips just pay the difference. A+ service and food is fresh tasty and not overly oily.

Unfortunately a tragic first experience after positive recommendations. Online order. Checked in and watched walkins served and leave.for 30 minutes. Asked again and was handed order that had sat in the warmer since I arrived. Checked order. Wrong fish.some sort of batter then grill to soggy. 1/4 dim sims and 1/4 potato cakes. Sigh. Won't be back.

Pretty good little fish and chips shop not far from the pier! Had the Mexican chicken burger and can recommend!

Friday night.waited a whole hour for 2 burgers and 1 fried fish/chips. Even if short staffed, that is a disgrace for takeaway.

Tasty but disappointed there was no lemon or tartare within the pack (fish pack and calamari). Found out later that a quarter wedge of lemon cost extra at 70c.

Edit after reply from owner: . We got two pieces of fish but no lemon was served.

One of the yummiest hamburger's I have EVER had Hubby said fish was nice and fresh. We will be back!

Waited 50 mins for my order to be ready, to then discover it was missing some of the order, food just okay, they need to tell people how long the wait will be as this was a ridiculous time to be left waiting… will not be back

One of the best fish and chips that we have in Melbourne. The fish was very fresh definitely did not disappoint. Staff was very nice and was explaining the different fishes. There are a few tables inside the shop but there is also outdoor seating as well 。

Ordered online 35 minutes before arrival, waited another 45 in the store, staff very rude & careless with the food definitely will never be coming back, also gave my order to another customer because they were in a hurry.

Just would like to let everyone know my experience with Go Fish, Fish and Chip shop last night so you don't get the same problem. Ordered at 5.45pm online, got a message from uber at 6.06pm telling me my order was set up through the restaurant and was being processed. At 6.23pm got a message from Uber saying delivery had been cancelled, tried to contact Restaurant and was either permanently engaged or when it rang for a minute the message" phone is switched off" then at 6.33pm had a message to say my order had been picked up and would be there in 14 mins, fine I thought. Then another message from Uber at 6.44pm saying order has been set up by the restaurant via uber estimated delivery 7.19pm so I tried calling again and again with no one answering or permanently engaged. In the end my son was in Main St so I sent him in there to find out what was going. He waited in line to be told there was no order for my name and address in the system. I then sent him back with my receipt for him then to be told that weren't doing deliveries but I could come in and pick up In 20 mins, I asked if they would refund the delivery charge to which they replied " No". So I told them to cancel the order and refund the whole thing. They did this in cash to my son without apology or any remorse. I will not be using this place again and unless you want to be messed around like no one's business I wouldn't either. Just another case of local businesses in Mornington not giving a rats arse when they are busy like school holidays. Please pass this on so others don't end up with the same thing

Staff allowed us to order after close time NYE, absolutely amazing customer service. The fish and chips were so fresh and soooo crispy All my family agreed we would definitely return, thank you for your friendly hospitality and an overall memorable experience!
Highly recommend a visit.

Quality is very high considering how busy they are over the Christmas new year period. While other fish and chips shops in the area close early and complain about no staff, this place is clearly doing a great job, staff were happy and friendly and working very hard, and the fish was hot and fresh.

Terrible fish, tuff, threw it out, very small and I mean small overcooked potato cakes
Paid for $5 chips they forgot to put them in.

$40 in total most in bin!

Shame was good, could be new owners, not going back.
