40 The best Mediterranean food in Melbourne.
The pitas are fresh, and the falafel is one of the best.
Best challah for our family. So gloriously soft on inside.really is a great part of the joy of Shabbat. Start with prayers and wine and challah and then the conversation and love with family just flows. Also shape means the 8 yo boy can always have" the biggest bit"
Still putting plain, and sesame bagels underneath bagels with onions etc.they just don't care about people with intolerances or cross contamination of products. I find that interesting for a kosher place.
Bagels are stale and challas very small now.
Friendly staff only went here because they closed down the Bentleigh one, I feel that was a mistake
All products i bought were great.baked to perfection, i had to return twice it was so good.shame theyre closed on saturdays but last friday and sunday was incredible
Very tasty filled bagel: hadn't been there before
Went back today: too late, they'd sold out of bagels but really friendly staff member made me a delicious smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich
Bad service, not much stock. 3rd time now I have endeavoured to buy from them and other people have walked in and been served before me, or there has hardly been anything left to purchase.
Coffee, no sugar alternative sweetener. Waited for food to be heated, came to me unheated. They were taking a long time. With a nice cafe 10m away. Lift your game or just sell bagels and fish balls
Fantastic staff, cheap prices, and good food all rolled into one! Glad I decided to go there over the café next door.
PS great Tuna and Cheese pastry ;)
I had the most amazing experience today. I needed donuts for my daughter to take to school and I had ordered them yesterday. They had not arrived on time however Chinmay who works there went out of his way to ensure I had all the donuts for her. He made sure the delivery driver got extras from other stores to fulfill our order which resulted in a very happy child. An absolute power team this morning and I am so thankful to both staff who went above and beyond to help. Fantastic customer service!
Attitude of a young woman serving can only be described as designed to push customers away. Its a shame to spoil the brand with subpar employees
When I went to Glicks today I was highly impressed with Chinmay’s customer skills. Chinmay was very polite, kind, and talkative. He even gave my family a free sample of a donut, which we very much enjoyed. All the other staff are lovely too. Very satisfied customer. Very nice made bagels.
Have been going here for a while, thanks to the good food, awesome service and friendly staff- would definitely racommend.
Definitely the place to go for challah, bagels are pretty good too.
Of all the different challah makers out there (and there are many), these are in my opinion the best. Soft, fluffy, good balance of sweet and bready, not too sweet and it doesn't fall apart. You can also buy it from the supermarket (Woolworths but not Coles as Coles apparently cares more about price than quality) but the fresh stuff in store is my preference when I'm not feeling lazy.
The service can be a bit variable and definitely breaks down during the big rushes but that's somewhat understandable.
The other food is a mixed bag. The bagels are very good (not the best I've ever had, but close) but some of their other pastries are downright terrible. I recently got some hamantashen (festive filled pastry triangles) and they were just appalling. The poppyseed mixture was the worst I've ever had. It looked anaemic, was very dry and flavourless. Also, the filling-to-pastry was way off on the stringy side.
A very inviting café, with attentive staff who smile. I am still thinking about the meal l had there today, it was that delicious. Yummo!
Highly recommended.
Best bagels when made by Daniel.
Went again yesterday, the legend himself was working and the plain bagel with tuna and pickles made me feel so warm inside. Wanted to give him a hug, but obviously not because of COVID.
One of the best bagel shops in Melbourne.
They make the softer, Middle Eastern-style, rather than the firmer, New York-style bagels. The flavour and texture of their bagels is amazing, especially their onion bagels.
There's simply no place like them to get a bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onion, and capers.
As an added bonus, this shop doesn't get as busy as the ones in Caulfield and the City.
Shop keepers are super friendly, warm and accommodating, and the cosy atmosphere is great on a rainy day to sit and enjoy a bagel and dessert. The desserts I've tried are very nice as well, not cloyingly sweet, nicely balanced and satisfying.
Great and friendly staff! Thanks so much for being so friendly and accomodating to all my orders!
If they could move any slower they would be standing still. It took the Asian looking lady 10 minutes to get challah from the shelf. She spent 9.5 minutes chatting with the cute bleached hair boy and few others. I offered my help to place challah in the bag. It's such a delicate complex task. I hope that they are paid per number of items sold instead of hours. Such a shame that good old bakery is going to be gone soon.
Absolutely amazing! The staff are so friendly and accommodating it’s a breath of fresh air I went in with the family at about 4: 30pm on a Thursday and even though they were busy, my coffee and bagel sandwich were delivered quickly and with a smile ️ Definitely will be coming back!
