Glen Iris Primary School reviews
8A fabulous school, great support, great teachers, great community. Have been very happy and would recommend to anyone.
It was a nice school and i miss it however i find that the teachers were strict on some students that didn't deserve it, the kid who sat next to me when i was in his class didn't know much English and the teacher i had was not very helpful because all he would do was yell at the poor kid, also some kids were favorites because they had siblings in his class before. It was also very fun and it had lots of activities. One final thing is that they need to discipline the students better, one time when i was at camp, in the middle of the night 2 students got sent into my cabin because they were yelling and making to much noise, me and my friends were all exhausted because they other 2 students talked all night.
We attended the tour of the school this week & today a story time session for pre-schoolers. Such a lovely welcoming school.
OK. But this is my experience and it depends on the year level you are in. Overall, ok, better than Solway (trust me). I would recommend it.
Good things:
The good thing was that they had a good writing program. The colour run was so much fun. I did it in my last year of GIPS and it was great. The art teacher (Miss Freeland-Small) was amazing, she deserves a raise. Some of the teachers were very good.
Not great things:
LIT CIRCLES WASN'T GOOD. Mr. Hosking NEVER gave me a good mark. I spent hours doing it and always got a 3 (out of 4). AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE FRENCH TEACHER. When I moved to my new school, I learned more French in one lesson than I had in 7 years.
Really, you get what you pay for.
Great experience, okay teachers, but lit circles are a terrible idea, and yes i am salty because i never got a perfect mark, im talking to you, mr hosking.
Please get rid of lit circles, as a year nine i get less work than i did in year six but an all round good school
Had an okay experience.unfortunately I attended GIPS when the teachers union decided to go on multiple strikes/ walkouts.some of the teachers were mediocre, rude, condescending and just didn't care about the students.
