Glen Iris Pantry reviews
46I have not been to this place for quite a while. The last time was under the previous owners. I really liked it the way it was - it had a lot of atmosphere and was quite unique. It now seems soul less like a few cafes in this area. The food was quite good but nowhere near as great as neighbouring cafes especially the one near Hartwell station and another in Highfield Road. The main reason I won’t return though was the extremely loud music being played.
Good coffee and service. The main attraction is its proximity to a sporting facility and walking trail.
Coffee warm at best, one of the plates we ordered were very salty. They forgot several of the extras we ordered and only realise after we got home that we paid for but didn't receive. The sour dough was tough, could hardly cut through with the knives. Speaking of cutlery, they need to get better knives to cut through the tough sour dough they serve.cutlery was disgusting, sticky, some with left over food still stuck on it and the drinking glasses were also dirty. Not impressed.
Popular local Cafe. (More popular under previous owners.) Now part of a larger group of cafes located all over Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Good coffee though service not consistent.
Came here for a Father’s Day breakfast. Food was great. Bit noisy but overall a good experience.
Nice staff, sandwich had delicious fillings but the choice of bread is terrible. I don’t often throw away a roll but was no good. Please consider changing the rolls you use.
Jake and his lovely staff did a wonderful job with coffee and cake service for 16 cyclists this morning. Cake came out as coffees did in time to sing happy birthday to a 70 year old cyclists! Highly recommend Yvonne Whitehorse cyclists
Ordered a hot matcha and was pure milk with barely any matcha and not drinkable. Coffee and sweets were ok. Service was disappointing, completely understood they were short staff until we went to the counter to pay and staff didn’t even acknowledge or greet us, the lady didn’t even speak a word and just fired up the eftpos machine for us to pay without confirming our order or table. Quite rude with no thanks.

Honestly im giving it a doubt and chance after reading the bad reviews of the staff and service issues there. Boy im so wrong about it! The staffs are young, but they were rude and innatentive. Coffee was like 10 mins wait (seriously tho on the quiet Friday arvo?) ambiance is very edgy and nice, food also came out nice despite very very big portions. Upon leaving, the staffs were lacking the warmth and smiles. Now i am doubtful if i should come back or recommending this place to anyone
Great sunny spot in a leafy green area. Perfect spot for lunch I enjoyed the barramundi and mango smoothly. Definitely will return
Could be great. However slow and inattentive service lets it down - badly understaffed at key times. Many more capable hands needed here.
What happened to my favourite chicken and brocolli salad? Came with chicken, tons of basic lettuce and half a brocolli? Usually this salad is amazing, someone either dropped the ball, ran out of ingredients or just cheaped out.
Nice coffee though cold, food tasty but I feel quality overall has dropped. Used to be awesome and a much better vibe
Honestly blown away by the quality of the food, was shocked by the low review!
This place is great, a little pricey but worth the money from how good the food is.
They have a selection of sandwiches and classic cafe food, looks very popular too.
Worth stopping by.
Great place for a coffee with friends with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I'll be back, the next time for something to eat as well.
Wasn’t very impressed. Greasy scrambled eggs got sent back. Got a poached egg back with same cold toast, cold rosti and rock hard avocado.
Not a hard order to mess up but they still managed with no apology. Uninterested staff
A shame because we came here a while ago and had a great experience.
I come here way too often and it never disappoints, the food is delicious (and I think pretty standard price for the east), the coffee is wonderful too and the staff are so lovely. I honestly don’t think have anything bad to say about this place!
Extremely over priced. $20 for two coffees on a weekend. Especially disappointing when their other venues are charging $4.60 for a coffee. It’s $7 for a chai here with any alternative milk an extra $1. Disappointing to see a local spot be ruined by greed.
A once great local cafe ruined by greedy business owners. No longer serves the community in the way it used it with affordable snacks, ice creams and coffees, everything is over-priced now. The owner said this is due to their 'talent' - get over yourselves, you make coffee not perform heart surgery.
