Gipi's Pizza House reviews
47Needed to grab some garlic bread for a hungry toddler and their ‘garlic bread’ was so incredibly terrible. Burnt toast with a tiny bit of butter. Completely inedible. Dry, burnt, wives of toast. First and only time ever going there
Oh Gipi's, how low can you go. Once, one of our favourite pizza places.
Tonight, two burnt pizzas, one of which was inedible. One pizza was missing the additional pineapple we paid for, the other Pizza missing the additional capers we paid for, which was then added to the wrong Pizza. Chips missing a third of the contents.
Oooof.
Typical pizzeria/restaurant with a noisy background on a rainy weeknight.
The staff were polite and welcoming. Our order was taken relatively quickly and the food arrived about 15 minutes later.
My meal was nice and warm (garlick prawns) and the serving was adequate. We shared a pizza which was OK but uninspiring. The calamari was superb and a standout. I'd go back for the calamari if for nothing else.
This classic oldschool place changed my dining outlook. I genuinely had not gone out for pasta in 20 years, after working in Italian places in my youth, my go-to choice had always been viet or malaysian, and that was what I was looking for that fateful tuesday in preston.turns out everything else was closed, and walking down the street I was drawn towards a place that was not just open, but the epicentre of a savoury aroma explosion, which turned out to be the pizza oven, running at full capacity.
Inside is full of the full volume version of that aroma, almost too much, but not quite. While the pizzas looked great, and meticulously built by the owner, I had a hankering for a lasagne. However, after asking the waitress, she said the most popular thing was the frutta di mare, and I was immediately into the idea. It did not disappoint. I have been back 3 times, trying both the napoli and the aglio olio versions, and they are magic. It's not generic mix, this is a quality selection of seafood, big pieces, expertly prepared, nothing fried to toughness or dried out, all tender, pasta at correct al dente. And, classic style, if you come later in the night, the pasta water has increased in starch, so the sauce is richer and thicker. Oldschool cannister of powdered parmesan on the table. Truly delightful comfort food, done superbly.
The venue is older, and if you luck out you may get a table by the draughty back door, or have to be out the front. The wine on offer will not be something you love, but that's not what you're there for, it's the food.
Next trip I will be looking into the other oldschool things they do, all the versions of veal scallopine, and definitely must try a lasagne, but this place is a lock for a marinara!
What a place! The pizza's are so amazing.
Such a good place to get a good quality pizza and the lovely people that work there are always friendly.
This is a great place. It took me back to my childhood and provided ltalian food the way it sound be.
Love this place! Old fashioned trattoria. If you just want a good shredded ham capricciosa, they make a spectacular melt in the mouth one. Also highly recommend the volcano pizza - to die for. Lovely accommodating service - they always go out of their way to get you a table even if fully booked.
The pizza was great, the schnitzel was good, the chips ok, and the tiramisu a bit soggy. All in all I'd eat here again, but stick to pizza and mains. As for the service, very polite and friendly. The restaurant itself was nice, if a tad loud.
I cannot recommend this place enough!
Authentic Italian, reasonable prices and great portion sizes. We got a meat lovers pizza and boscaiola pasta for take out, an easy 10/10.
The best pizzas in preston/reservoir
run by a lovely Italian family.the food is always amazing!
I picked up my pizza's and it was awesome. Good traditional pizza. Good topping amount and great service. Highly Recommend
Best Quality Pizza in Preston. Never fails to deliver! Shout out to the hardworking and friendly owner's Joe and Maria. Absolute legends. Waitresses usually ok, but seem confused easily and lack of communication a common feature. All in all, good quality for good price in a good spot.
I was so disappointed. Ordered two pizzas (one large and one family) and firstly the family cap was so soggy and oily that the cardboard from the box actually stuck to the base of the pizza when we pulled it and tasted flavorless.
The margherita pizza was the same oily base with budget cheese and found a hair on it. I hate giving reviews like this but this was very disappointing!
Nice food and service, friendly atmosphere need to book before you go gets very busy recommend this place you will be happy.
Mixed bag.kids loved the pizzas, wife's meal was good (prawns) but my veal snitz was a shocker.was 1mm thick tops tasted like cardboard. Chips that came with meal and extra bowl was average.we were close to the kitchen we could smell the cigarette smoke from our table. Next time sticking to pizza.service was good.
Such wonderful tasting pastas we had a Tuscan chicken and cabenara.chips where delicious so was bruichetta.garlic bread was very rustic looked great but just a hint too much garlic.
Will definitely be ordering again. It's hard to find a good old fashioned pasta that is full of flavour and tastes bloody amazing.
Customer service was lovely too thanks heaps
We love coming here for the food, the friendly staff and great atmosphere! The menu is a collection of Italian staples mixed with Nonna's classics. Their pizzas are delicious with a vast array of choices. You won't be disappointed!
First time being at this resturant I had the Barramundi chips n salad the most delicious n was an enjoyable meal
I bought a veal meal from here few weeks ago. Sorry but it was horrible. Tasted so so bad. You need to remove this item from your menu.
Placed order online, got an SMS to confirm order & pickup time. Arrived at the venue only to be told the order didn't go through, & they'd have to make it now. Was treated like an inconvenience. Staff were rude & unapologetic. First impressions count - won't be rushing back.
