Ginza Teppanyaki reviews
71 We came here as a group to celebrate a birthday and left disappointed and confused.
Spoiler alert: the chef will pour oil and set it on fire, passive aggressively launch egg at you asking you to catch it in your mouth, and throw rice bowls at you to catch. Thats it. These "games" lasted 10 minutes max.
I got asked multiple times if I was celebrating anything, and all that means is the chef will pause so our own party can sing happy birthday (not the waiters joining in to sing, no special treat etc).
For the price, you are expecting food + entertainment. There was no entertainment so you're left with overpriced food. Cannot recommend.
Overpriced with small serving size. I spent $98 on the minimum deal they had an had to go out again later to fill me up. Waste of money and time.
Loved the entire experience and games. The food is amazing! The dining packages are good value for money.
There are 2 sides to this restaurant. The bentobox side had an amazing meal for less than $25. Large Benton. 3 boxes of food per person. The eel was delicious!
We ate here for dinner which started at 530pm on a Sunday. The food was amazing. We chose set 4, which cost $128pp.
It’s definitely a place for special occasions!
The ambience was great.
I wish the chef that we had gave more. The guy chef behind her seemed to be more confident and friendly with his audience. I guess it depends which chef you get.
But overall, we were happy with the place.
Unbelievable experience.
First review I've ever written just to show my appreciation.
BEWARE! The most underwhelming experience after having paid $100 per person. They've got amateurs behind the grill and it seems like they're still in culinary school trying to learn how to cook.
Took my wife here for V-day and we had a lovely time. Our chef was friendly and happy to have a laugh, but cooked the food beautifully.
More traditional style of Teppanyaki, and our table had a blast.
Plenty of food so you won't leave hungry, and my wife got a token for the Candy Floss vending machine which was a nice touch (it's meant for kids haha).
Would recommend.
Went as a group of 12 for my partners birthday. Aiden the chef was very entertaining and put on a great show! The staff were very attentive. Highly reccomend:)
AVOID: Terrible food, paid $300 but not even worth $30. The waiters were good, but it seemed like the chef had no experience and was just trying to finish his shift. All of the meats were overcooked, all of the games seemed like gimmicks (I have been to teppenyaki where the chefs are a actually talented, not the case here). Overall would AVIOD at all costs.
Good experience overall but not value for the high rates that are charged.
The staff was very friendly though.
Was this value for money? No, definitely not. Portion sizes were tiny and we left hungry. Spent $130 for 2 small miso soups, 2 small rice, 1 lamb cutlet, 2 small serve of squid, half a salmon fillet, small serve of rocking fillet, 2 small serve of bean sprouts and 1 small steak fillet. The serving sizes were child size. The price is basically robbery. I Don't recommend this place and won't be coming back.
I have fond memories of eating at Ginza Teppanyaki as a teenager in the 90s.
Today we took the kids there for lunch.
The kids had a great time, and were entertained watching the chef. The food was great too. It was a good as I remembered.
Family night, tepinkayi grill, meat lovers.went all to quickly. Great food, guy on the grill was great. Drink service a little slow.no biggy.
What a brilliant night! Food was amazing, the entertainment from our chef was great. Thank you Ginza we will be back
This was heaps of fun and watching the food get cooked added to that. There is no escaping the egg getting thrown at your face, but why not it was fun:)
Very disappointed chef was very inexperienced & boring food not presented well kept getting it wrong.
Watching the other chefs clearly entertaining there guests we felt we had drawn the short straw.it was not a cheap night and I would not recommend this restaurant if you want to be entertained with good food. Did complain to the staff but all we got was sorry you had a bad time.
Would like to give update.
Owner called me & was very apologetic for our experience they have since rectified the matter
It’s a really amazing dinning experience! The chef was so fun and the customer service is outstanding.
Overpriced and very average. Perception is it’s cheap and cheerful reality is is overpriced for very average food. Best to spend a bit more and get real tepanyaki.
Don’t bother here unless you want to pay way to much for very average food. The tempura prawns where the worst I’ve ever had. And the overall food was a massive mistake.
Half a star for the nice staff
