German Club Tivoli reviews
45 Loved it here! We will definitely be back.
Loved the servers and your receptionist we affectionately dubbed 'Oma' she came and gave the kids some chocolate which was so lovely of her. The piano accordion player was fantastic and played some wiggles for the kids.
It’s really for the amazing atmosphere and the great German beer on tap.
The food is great -parking is good
Have visited Tivoli 3 times now with my wife and friend. Love the authentic vibes inside. Soaking up the awesome music played by Richard on the accordion. Portions are massive and prices are decent. It’s a little far from other places but worth the visit if you wanna bring friends and family.
Easy car parking. Entry into kitch foyer underwhelming. The main dining room looked cosy.we were seated in beer hall which was dated and empty. Live music filtering through bar a nice touch. Prompt service. Menu options are pretty much meat and carbs. Our meals were tasty and fresh.
We were here for a memorial service and the German beer and finger food was an added treat to a beautiful service
Enjoyed the authentic German atmosphere and friendly staff. The meals were great and reasonably priced. We all left with full bellies. Recommend booking ahead to get into the restaurant rather than beer hall. Some of the decor looks like it needs a little refreshing but would come back.
Edit (Jan 2023)
We called Tanya, and she apologised and provided us with a voucher for two pork knuckles.
Will provide an updated review once we have gone back and tried the pork knuckle.
-
They never delivered the pork knuckle we pre-ordered, and then served us raw chicken.
Let me elaborate.
Our group booked and pre-ordered two pork knuckles. We received email confirmation two days before, and staff member Tanya gave us a phone call the day before to confirm our order.
On the day, we were told there was a miscommunication and there was no pork knuckle because it was Greek night. They said even though we had pre-ordered and received email AND phone confirmation, there was no way we'd get our pork knuckle and to order off the Greek menu.
We explained it had taken us a couple of months to schedule this dinner (shift work and unforseen health complications had gotten in the way) and we'd been looking forward to trying the pork knuckle. The staff just apologised and told us to order off the Greek menu.
This was disappointing but understandable, until the table next to us received a pork knuckle and a sausage platter (both of which were supposedly unavailable). When we asked the staff, they avoided our questions and just told us to order from the Greek menu.
At this point we should have left, but we were hungry and decided to stay. We ordered lamb and chicken dishes, and to top off the night, the chicken came out raw on the inside (photo evidence provided).
When you're paying ~$50 a person, the disappointment and hassle wasn't worth it. The staff and owner didn't seem to care at all, the staff just brushed off our questions and the owner seemed to avoid us. We'll be looking for another place to enjoy some pork knuckle.
Lots of noise music and food. "Ich nich trinkin alcohol, " but who cares I enjoyed myself as we always have
Left exhausted.
Only problem I had for the day was catering.
I observed helper pick up tongs from the saukraut and proceed to serve a customer with the same tongs picking up other items not knowing correct handling procedures.
Pork sausages the returning the same tongs to the sauerkraut.
To bad had some reacted to the blatant cross food contamination.
I was game thinking the schnitzel were chicken which I hadn't seriously eaten in like 20years.
Worse still it was veal.
Well I was crook for ateast 2 days not being able to digest it properly, spoiled my day.
I recommend that all staff be made to do a food handling course or be supervised better.
It's only going to take 1 person to be badly adversely react to food handling and there could be a law suit.
Food was limited for choice for me.
Noodles on offer with little cream.
I'm assuming they were wheat. I didn't ask but should have, if they were egg noodles.
They would have hospitalised me.
Very pleasantly surprised. Dated decor and terrible music but the food is to die for. Best meal I have been served in a really long time and also fabulous beers.
Don’t let any doubts get to you or the decor stand in your way.
We’ll be back to work our way through the rest of the menu.
Such a great venue, staff and Ofcourse the beer was amazing. Definitely will be going back for my next event.
If your wanting great German food then you can't go past here fast and very friendly service good value for money
Massive portion sizes wonderful atmosphere wonderful fun accordion player and great team members
Came here for dinner. Food is just OK. Not bad, but not awesome. Got the feast platter, the e schnitzel was good and the best part of it. Sausages were OK, ham was OK, pork was a little dry. Potato salad was nice. Not a fan of sauerkraut so can't really judge that. Service is OK. Beer choice is good. Place is a little dated but clean. The platter could probably feed 4 ppl, so in that regard OK value.
They had a great band playing here - '70s music and they did a mighty fine Job. Friendly staff and good service. It's worth a visit.

Brilliant. What more can I say? I can say a lot more, but won't, as I feel it would ruin the surprise, or ruin the feeling you get when you walk in and aren't surprised at all, but think, as you walk up the stairs, slowly, at first, before taking the last few with confidence that this is the place you always expected it was, and that is why you are there. Goodbye
Went there a week ago for dinner with friends. Meals were average and overprized. Would not recommend.
The bar staff were super friendly, would 100% recommend people go in to try the drinks and the food there. Specially if you'd like to try something new and a bit different from the usual.
My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal here tonight. It was like going to a good friends place for dinner, quality ingredients, large servings and friendly service and hospitality, we were made to feel welcome. We will return and bring friends and family to enjoy a quality dining experience.
Great place to get some German beer, traditional German food and catch up with friend and family.
