George's Restaurant reviews
76 Loved their pizza and the customer service.
Want to say thank you so much to the crew for finding my lost wallet and giving it back to me.
After two days in Apollo Bay we decided to have lunch at Georges. I had a med pizza with the lot and I can tell you, it's one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. The restaurant is super spacious and very clean and the family and i had the greatest pleasure dining at Georges. Definitely pencil this place in Apollo Bay if you want a great pizza.
Food was not great, a little overpriced for the serving size and our meals didn't come out with everything stated on the board. Staff were not very clear with us and it is an odd food court style restaurant. Didn't try the pizzas but they did smell promising.
Negative
I went with my girlfriend.
I guy with grey hair may be the owner went to the desk call other guy to took our order and may be he slept wrong but really really bad attitude. Never got so bad attention in our life.
So I told to my girlfriend if this guy trate me like this 5 second more I would leave. So He did. So I left the place.
We wanted to try but then we didn't come back for this reason.
And they put pineapple to pizza.
Decent amount of seating that could suit a small or large group. There is a variety of food but I would describe it as just barely edible. Big portions but not worth eating. Staff look unhappy. It looks like you could fit a wheelchair or stroller in. Has a tv. Feels like a cafeteria. Has one women’s and one men’s toilet.
We stopped in for a quick lunch because we didn't have much time, and I was really impressed with the pizza. And the staff members were so friendly! I kinda wish I was staying in town so I could come back for dinner
Local eatery for Apollo bay, though the food used to be better. Still a good smiling service though.
Big alert for all tourists, don’t come to this place, the place is smelly and food is rubbish. Flys are everywhere, I don’t think the food hygiene is maintained, some people in reviews wrote about their past experiences about getting sick after dining here, go find other places to have your food and you can still have a wonderful trip to 12 Apostles. Wish you all good luck and never have to experience what I have experienced.
Average pizza used to be better few years ago. I haven't tried the fish and chips so I can't comment
AIt's a pit stop made for tour buses. People pile in like crazy during lunch time. The fish and chips itself were below average and definitely not worth the visit.
The customer service is horrible, not respectful staff. They know its a tourism place and the customer won't come back so they don't care. However, let's be honest the food is good.
You might hire more staff on holidays so at least they are happier due to work load.
My family and I stopped in for some lunch and the service was good and staff were friendly. The hamburgers were nice but off putting watching one of the staff members helping themselves to hot chips while customer's are around and cooking your food. Hygiene hmm. Gets a little crazy when the tourist buses come thru but they have a wide variety of food and plenty of area's to order.
Good food, good range, fast service, but a couple of things to note. Many staff standing around doing nothing during my visit there, but they still yell your order number for you to collect over a broken microphone, and each time the speaker squeals it's borderline painful for the ears.
Couldn't be more thankful for this place and the staff, we couldn't find ANYTHING open (not even the grocery shop) we'd been hiking all day and had no food - rocked up to George's and they were about to close but they still made us a pizza life savers and tasty pizza, thanks again guys!
Excellent thin base seafood pizza. Ask for some lemon to squeeze on top and sprinkle some black pepper!
What a fantastic location in the small town of Apollo Bay. Well priced food and quick service when I was there.
Very bad. Oriented to tourists only. This means no requirements for quality, taste or a smile. And to charge a one dollar for tomato sauce for chips which supposed to be free, is beyond Australian standards. It's like not having a toilet in cafe, or to charge for salt or tap water. Would not recommend to any one.
Went during lunchtime on a Saturday, so very crowded as expected, wait time was about 15 mins in line and 8 for our food. Nevertheless, the menu had a variety of cafeteria options, including burgers, fish and chips, lasanga, etc. Food was alright, but the flake of the fish skin was noticeably thick. Good location and flexible options make this a safe bet for groups of all sizes.
Happier customer service would be nice. Staff seem as they dont realy want to be there. Sad when its a huge tourist area. And. Flake little to oily sorry guys
Pizza was so tasteless, probably the cheapest cheese and dough you can find, couldn't even finish it, super disappointed as it looked tasty. Also interior was nice, good for big groups but I wouldn't go here when it's busy. Not recommended
