George Wood Performing Arts Centre reviews
14Nice, cozy performing arts theatre. Seats could be wee bigger. Overall, all seats have a good view of the stage.
Abundantly spaced theater located in the midst of a scenic view, perfect place for organising Music and Art related events catering for larger group of audiences. There is ample car parking on site.
Good performance centre for the area. As others had said, parking is tricky if not early so expect to park away - crossing the street hair raising and low lighting.
Balcony seating has good view. The balustrade includes a top glass section to see through. Sit slightly off centre as the tv screens fixed for the performers can block the view. Also, stair access only.
Venue is great as a performer, but being on a school campus it did feel a little unprofessional. Unfortunately no workaround away from that.
Good venue nonetheless.
Did not attend as an audience member so cannot say for that side of the coin.
Great venue for the Toepaz end of year concert. Good views of the stage from pretty much any seat in the audience, including the balcony seats.
Parking is challenging so arrive early if you don't want to enjoy the cross campus hike. Drive very slowly on the way in for the safety of pedestrians and to avoid impact with the substantial speed humps!
Very nice Auditorium.
Compare to old seats, new seats not comfortable enough for adults.
For Auditorium patron Capacity, not enough car parking spots. Also very dark around in car parks at night time after the night shows.
An incredible facilty! Attended a music festival which was amazing. The performance centre is truly high standard, the seating, acoustics & other facilities were 2nd to none. A great attribute for the school!
Excellent venue for school production. Comfortable seating, lots of space and good acoustics. Very clean bathrooms.
Highly recommend for hiring this venue
Great theatre and the new seats are a massive improvement to comfort for longer performances.
The lack of a licenced bar is a big minus. If you have to sit thought a 3+ hour dance recital, you need to be able to numb the pain of the acts not involving your child.
Good place only problem is there is not proper access from stage to the back stage during the concert
This is what happens when you book 1st and 2nd row balcony seats! If you want to book Balcony seats, start from at least 3rd row.
Spacious seating. Great stage. Parking is a bit of a struggle - but quite a lot of staff to assist.
We had no problems as we had, precooked but the system is not designed to handle large numbers of people who want to purchase tickets on the day. The foyer is far too cluttered and must be dangerously overcrowded when the theatre is full. Who ever decided that it doesn't need a kitchen has obviously never worked through an interval at a performance and been involved in cleaning up. Tony Hodges
Nicely designed auditorium and building. Very relaxing. The big stage can accommodate 100 artists. Wow.
