George & Al Roy Cafe Mansfield reviews
35Best smash burgers and thickshakes. I also had the waffle ice cream dessert it was to die for {:)
I never give one star but this very much warrants it. I know it's a busy weekend (AFL Grand Final weekend) however that doesn't mean you should have to wait 30 minutes for 2 take away coffees and receive terrible service. They guy taking orders was extremely rude. They use Industry Beans (amazing!) However our coffees were burnt so they tasted awful. This place should stick to burgers if they can't handle the coffee rush!
Some of the best coffee served in Mansfield.they use industry beans which is a highly reputable coffee brand and the staff was all so friendly. Kudos to Iko for creating our delicious mochas whilst in the middle of lunch hour. Was super busy and will definitely recommend!
Ordered a burger and loaded chili fries. Took 20 mins but was expected as its the long weekend and was busy. Will come again next time
From my kids: "Amazing cafe! The workers there were so nice and friendly! The hot chocolate there tasted so rich and smooth. Delicious raspberry muffins as well, we loved them. The actual cafe itself was spacious and had a great vibe. Beautiful cafe and food, I recommend going here. "
I had a cheeseburger with chips and my great niece had a Royale Burger. They were delicious.
Had Roy Al single, it is very small and tastes like Macca’s. My honest opinion it’s bit overpriced and not good value for money.
It's been so hit and miss with quailty of the food that it's not worth the risk with the price.
I've found the staff super rude the last six months and un welcoming. I've worked in hospitality for years and know it can be hard but this venue is very disappointing it has the potential to be a cool venue with it's location but its sadly letting down the locals.
Loved it! Tried these guys the other day, my daughter and partner were horse riding so my son and I had lunch there. 2 Roy Al's and chips. Definitely super tasty, my son said it was in his top 5 for burgers places we've tried and we like to try different burger joints a lot.
I took my partner and daughter back after their horse riding session - they had a halloumi burger, fried cauliflower and chips. They also loved theirs.
I'm not sure about all the bad reviews, our experience was something very different. It's not cheap, but not much is these days. Only complaint is it's too far from my house.
Very good service also - the guy remembered my name from earlier in the day. Definitely recommend and will go back if in the area.
Great burger joint. Great "burger atmosphere" and excellent service by friendly, patient staff.
Imagine you come into a food business with children and are then left waiting a ridiculous amount of time for your food, only for the kids meals to come out last and searing hot. So now you have to tell the kids they can't have their food that has finally arrived.
Half our party was told some things were available while others were told the same items were unavailable.
I don't blame the kitchen or the servers. I blame whoever the owner is. To save a dollar they are terribly understaffed. Care about your staff just a little bit more mate.
Passed through Mansfield and got a burger at George & Al Roy, it was delicious, best burger I’ve had in a long time. The coffee was awesome and got me back to Melbs.
We ordered dirty birds burger but got back breakie burger. We made a complain about it but the chef refused to make the correct order. What an unpleasant experience.
Unbelievable!
3: 30 pm on a Sunday afternoon, I asked for 2 coffees… nothing extravagant…I would say…
Too extravagant indeed for this place!
After waiting patiently for more than 10 minutes…I went back inside to inquire about my 2 coffees… and that’s where I thought I didn’t understand properly!
The young person in front of me just let me know the machine was turned out…!
but was happy to do iced coffees instead!
Is it a joke?
My order, my money were taken, I was the client…. AND I was the one who had to stand up, walk to the counter to ask why my coffees were taking so long to arrive?
nobody had the respect to tell me! Weird way to treat clients indeed!
Shame on you guys!
Unfortunately the worst coffee I have tasted, actually left half a cup too awful to drink and the chips were skinny and over cooked. Expensive as well, will not be going there again unless the original owner goes back.
Pulled pork burger was dry and tasteless, hawian burger came out half complete took a further 20 mins to fix order, wrong chips sent out, 22 dollar burger the size of a maccas cheese burger.
It’s not often I write negative reviews but each time (out of 3) I’ve been to George and Elroy’s I’ve been so disappointed with the experience. Incredibly overpriced, small portions for the price and the staff are always lovely but running around like headless chickens which tells me their processes need to be worked on and it makes the atmosphere feel chaotic. There are so many other lovely cafes / eateries in Mansfield so I’d suggest trying them first.
If you like master foods mustard you need to hit this place up!
But in all seriousness, what we ordered and what we got was wildly different.
Amazing Cafe! The workers there were so nice and friendly! The hot chocolate there tasted so rich and smooth. The coffee was great! Delicious raspberry muffins as well, kids loved them. The actual Cafe itself was spacious and had a great vibe. Beautiful cafe and food, I recommend going here.
My partner and I ordered two brekkie burgers which contained an egg on the menu. We received the burgers without eggs and asked if there had been a mishap in the kitchen. They proceeded to add an egg to each burger which was just shoved into the side of it and when returning the waitress said the chef was sorry, but then proceeded to say that she ‘wouldn’t say what he actually said. ’ Very poor considering it’s $16 per burger and they can’t own their mistakes.
The two young lady’s behind the counter had great service.
