General Assembly Melbourne reviews
22Came in with my mum on Sunday for a quick lunch had the chicken burger which was delightful. My waitress Jem provided great service and made the visit nicer. Will definetly be back
We held a work function last week. We had our own area, which was spacious and clean and lots of fresh air. Everything went very well. We were hosted by Amy and she looked after our every need, was friendly and diligent.
Good luck getting your food order on time. The cooking staff look like they are on holiday - you might be lucky to get your food by Xmas. I will release the falcons of joy when this place shuts down.
The gentleman that assisted us was wonderful. He assisted us in choosing a cocktail, think his name was Zac. The Caliente margarita is a must try!
Wow wow wow my husband & I stopped here for a drink & also have 2 kids 4 & 7. I could not believe how warming & welcoming they were to the children. Nothing was a issue & they were all so nice to the kids, especially Ben & Erica they are so amazing. General Assembly you have got 2 amazing employees.
Best dinner and drinks! Jesse is literally the most amazing human you will ever meet! Loved his vibe and he put a smile on both of our faces! Love Hayley and Josh!
Attended a bootcamp in December 2019 on Story telling. I was sent a set of slides which were promised by the instructor. They were very blurry and not readable, i have been following up diligently. I'm yet to receive a copy which is readable and now they wont even respond to emails! Good luck to students enrolling to their courses
It a great investment of time! Especially if you work in the city and can duck out at lunch for these 1 hour! Just a heads up. Don't sit at the back. It's their lunch hour too and the staff can get a bit loud on their break. Stay towards the front and enjoy
Got kicked out for drinking water. Didn't provide glasses with the bottles of water so I drank from the bottle and that was enough to be kicked out.
Just got booted off a table for a booking. There was notice on the table, no advanced notice and no offer of another table.
Great place to learn in demand skills, very friendly trainers and helpful support staff. They also organize regular free sessions as well as inductions. Convenient location in the CBD and extremely diverse set of participants. Must check out when looking to upskill yourself
I just completed the WDI and found a job I was happy with within a month.
First of all, don’t go in thinking this will be the magic bullet that will make you a pro programmer. That’ll never happen in 3 months.
With that out of the way, what you will get is support and advice from a great team with industry experience. They will help you build your skills as coder. Planning, working as a team, testing, and how to approach new languages. Remember you will only get out what you put in.
The support is there, you just need the drive to get as much out of it as you can.
I really enjoyed my time at GA. The teachers were amazing and the staff were really switched on and helpful. I believe it's the most practical and cost effective way to prepare yourself for the UX or Dev industry. Especially if you’re changing careers.
Did the WDI course at GA. Best teachers and greatest support for the job hunting process afterwards. Would highly recommend it!
Very good course! I did Web Immersive course and got a job three months after graduation (without prior programming experience) It's not a magical solution that gives you a job straight away (a lot of hard work is also required) but if you're going to study hard and follow what course instructors and outcome producer advice you will succeed!
Great teaching staff and contemporary curriculum covered some of the most in demand technologies for those looking to enter the industry.
I've just recently completed the User Experience Design Immersive Course and I have nothing but praise for the team at GA Melbourne. The staff and teachers are amazing and the course materials and resources are excellent
Tried for the last two and half days to get in contact with them via email and phone. No response. Horrible communication! Suffice to say I am not impressed and haven't even started the course!
Great place to teach. The staff is nice and supportive and the students are always active and willing to participate. It is also fun to visit others teachers' presentations and learn what other professionals are doing in their field.
It is great to know an agile institution of education who knows what is really important for today's workforce. I highly recommend checking it out!
