Gelateria on the Docks reviews
15Had the banana and creme caramel ice creams, they were delicious! I really like how they have an allergen board up as well. As someone who is gluten free It made it really easy for me to know which ice creams I could eat and which to avoid.
1 scoop for $6 and 3 scoops for $9 doesnt seem to make sense. Opted for 3 scoops option.
Tastes good and creamy. More towards milky side.
I agree with the other reviews regarding poor customer service. Came in 15 mins before closing, behind 2 people, they told just me that they were only serving the people right in front of me and not me despite coming in at the same time. The staff were extremely rude. If it's time to close I understand, but it's not going to take 15 minutes to serve a single scoop of ice cream. Next time just close the doors and not let anyone in if you're closing early.
They got super tasty gelato, creamy and has a soft texture.also super cools staffs (boy who helped with the tray) : ]
If you’re a big fan of poor customer service then this is right the spot for you to visit. The guy behind the counter who seemed to be the manager/supervisor was just so obsessed with earning his dollars only and tried so hard to ignore and refuse your request of having a small taste before you buy. (Whoever loves gelatos, I’m sure you’re familiar with this common practice for the shops to provide tasting prior you buy). And the excuse was they’re busy? Do you mean all other gelato shops are lack of customers and super free?

Thank you for proving such a misleading response.
One, I didn’t request nor get a taster at all for myself.
Two, if your shop doesn’t offer any taster, or has limitation for providing taster, the rule itself is unfriendly but we still respect. However, you should make the rule clear and visible enough, or your staff should have informed my friend about it at the very beginning. The staff who attended my friend earlier provided tasters without any hesitation or explanation at all.
You were showing the attitude, yelling at us and trying to make us embarrassed. I would strongly recommend you applying for a job at ‘Karen’s Diner’.
By looking at all other popular gelato places in Melbourne, you would never experience such customer services by refusing you or limiting you from getting a right flavor of your choice.
Many flavors to choose from and generous servings! Highly recommended after having dinner in the area.
Great little ice cream place at Docklands.
Very generous scoops. Beautifully presented choices. Plenty to choose from and menu includes dairy-free and vegan options as well as large size servings all the way down to kids sizes.
My husband is very indecisive but they even let him have a taste test of the mango before he got it.
Was a great and tasty treat after visiting Archie Brothers round the corner.
Thanks, will definitely be back!
Offended and Intimidated by the Services!
Walked into the store when it was quite.
My friend any I had one flavor picked in mind, and we wanted to try some samples to decide a second flavor to order.
One of the staff provided me two tasters that I asked for, and I was not told there is such a rule as “no taster” or “limit 2 tasters per person”. My friend did not ask for any and did not get any taster. (Your reply is misleading!)
The two samples were both tasted pretty artificial and I was trying to get one final sample. The boss started to shout at me and refused to get any more sample. The boss used the excuse by saying they are getting busy and each person can only get maximum two samples.
There were five or six staff, but only three groups of customers. At least two staffs were hiding behind and having nothing to do. When I asked for sample, the first staff passed to us with no hesitation and I was never told or reminded that there is a limitation for each person to try.
I was shocked, offended and intimidated by the attitude shown by the boss in the store, and also disappointed about quality of their gelato at the same time.
The best selection of yummy icecream. The queue might get long sometimes, but the service is generally pretty quick. A must try if you're near docklands
A lot of different gelato, ice-cream and sorbets in store. We tried strawberry sorbet and it was very delicious. The scope is pretty large. One scope of sorbet can be easily enough for two people! Highly recommended. SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES.
Best icecreams! The selection was unbelievable! They has clearly marked gluten free, dairy free and nut free options. The serves were generous and the icecream yum!
Staff are very friendly and professional.
Portion sizes are very generous.
Huge variety of flavours and it’s premium gelato!
Cute & convenient seating out the front in the main shopping precinct thoroughfare! This is especially a bonus for families with kids that actually want to take rest, sit down with the ice cream and enjoy their dessert properly. The location is awesome as it’s situated perfectly for you to soak up the vibe of docklands and just “people watch”.
A great place to end the day, after a long day of lugging around kids, prams, and shopping bags!
LOTS of flavours to choose from but that may have been the problem! We got 3 flavours, mango, tiramisu and strawberry. Mango was probably the best and the most refreshing. The tiramisu was not very good and had a weird flavour to it. You won't get amazing ice cream here but you definitely get spoiled for choice and if you just want an ice cream it's not bad.
A perfect treat during this hot weather.
Peppermint is just lit. Love their ice cream.
Used to love the gelato here. Great size and great favor. But on Friday night i saw a man working in the store used a spoon to try a favor of gelato, and use the SAME spoon to scoop another favor and put in his mouth again. Fine never come back.
