Geelong Golf Club reviews
18A well maintaine 9 holes course literally in the centee of Geeling Golf club residence.online booking was pretty simple, pro staf was welcoming well, members were hood companion. Fairway are clean and smooth.most of the green is surrounded by a deep bunker.a bit tricky to find hole 5, make aure you ask the prostaff before you start.a bit undulating but still fun to walk. Hole no 9 is a par 4 but a driveable hole, so be mindful with your driver distance. Have fun
The clubrooms' heaters in winter could be a bit warmer. Great foodfrom Cafe Mercy, porridge with rhubarb and macadamias is perfect for a morning start. Beautiful club rooms with big windows looking out over the course.
Always love having a hit here. Great friendly service and the course is always in good condition. Greens are pure. Great value
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was very nice and well priced. Would definately go again
Great 9 hole course with options to play 18 if that’s your preference. So picturesque. Check out the bird life as you hit your way around the undulating fairways. Lovely staff in the pro shop too.
Always happy helpful staff and Great food. We'll be back. Back again and another great night, Awesome music also.
Never thought getting run over would be a hazard on a golf course. A fun short 9 holes with a sphinx!
The old Geelong Golf Club had a reputation for being exclusive and when I saw the sign saying 'no booking, no entry' I thought to myself not much had changed.
Pros
Well bunkered
Great slopping greens
Cons
Some long walks between holes
Houses everywhere
A touch short
Greens well kept and fairways good condition. Some challenging approach green bunkers. 9 holes only. Great for quick game
Great little course, always in good condition. It's short but can be challenging, there are lots of hazards to be found.
Pretty good notwithstanding the questionable way it came into existence. The fairways are in excellent nick with not much evidence of divot scarring. Makes you wonder how many people are actually using it. You're unlikely to wear out your driver here. The holes are short but the greens are fast and deviously positioned.
Oh, and it's only 9 holes nestled amongst a monotonous swathe of grey McMansions. The design of the course leads to the inevitable conclusion that the primary objective was to squeeze as many house blocks out of the development as possible. A viable golf course seems to have been much lower priority.
Still, if you're after a short stroll and some challenging approaches, without overcrowding and shelling out a king's ransom in green fees, this might be the course for you.
Excellent buffet Christmas Lunch thank you for taking the stress and work out if the day the whole family enjoyed the day, meal and service
Junior clinic run by Browny is really good for the boys. Small pro shop that has the necessities and the course is in reasonable nick
A friend and I Took advantage of a lesson over 9 holes with Darryl a professional instructor. Highly recommend this, his knowledge was fantastic and he kept it very fun the whole time
Good little 9 hole suburban course, not long but one you need to think a little on your way around. In good nick as well.
Only nine holes but you can play another nine from a longer tee position. Good price for concession. Course in good condition for winter.
Best conditioned fairways and greens in Geelong. Challenging bunkers as you would expect at a top golf course. So nice to hit irons off a perfect surface
Beautiful food at very reasonable prices. Eg scotch fillet steak $18. Excellent seniors menu too
