Geelong Arts Centre reviews
27An overwhelming assault on the senses on entering the building. Signage is a bit hidden. Multisex toilets cause a bit of an issue with men, women and children all in together.
A lot of money that could have been spent on the health system.
We did a tour. The young lady was wonderful who showed us around.
Visited newly refurbished 2 theatre Centre. Impressed with changes, easier to move around complex, lifts between floors, cafeteria
Attended last show of priscilla last night! What a amazing show The cast was brilliant and it was so entertaining and I was up moving and singing along.
The newly renovated gpac was great with a few issues where you might seat. At the back on aisles seats there's a hand rail but it's 20 inch too high as it's in your face if you seat at aisles seats.
If you seat in the side balcony stalls your vision is blocked by a large speaker on the wall.that should have been placed alot higher and it was super loud to sit there and when guests behind you cheers it's super loud as it's in a corner. Also last row seats, you need to look through a glass panel to see the stage, theses are restricted views! There's no need to have glass panel there, from my vision of the area. Some issues in number 6 show room and the step issue to go into the seating area was a big issue by a staff member was there to assist.
Beautiful venue and show was fabulous
Oh the blue tunnel was cool
The theatre looks great after renos, more up to date facilities, I wish the main theatre was made larger, other than that, very modern.
Venue looks nice so many bars and places to get a drink. But half through the show we were attending most of them closed. Had a 15 minute break a lot of people wanted a bite to eat only to be turned away that the cafe was closing. Could not stay open that extra 15 for people to get a small bite to eat. Would hate to think how much money they lost.
What a wonderful new venue we have in Geelong. The staff were outstanding, the venue state of the art and the first show we saw, Priscilla, was absolutely awesome. Can’t wait to come back for the next show!
I enjoyed viewing Clarice Beckett exhibition when I visited the Gallery in late April. The gallery staff were helpful. The exhibition was well curated.
Album 1 at 10.30am and memories of the overdraft protection for email from ANZ advising the payout form did not include payout of the overdraft protection for email from ANZ
Currently under redevelopment so no large performances in the venue, but this Wheelchair friendly venue is a great place to hire for smaller events in the level 1 Foyer
The GAC is such an amazing arts and theatre space. Great to see a vibrant and evolving space like this in Geelong.
We bought tickets for a show and was cancelled we waited for a hour outside because we were not notified.
Until we asked security.
Very poor connection.
Amazing building. The refurb and extension by Kane Construction was done well. We had the privilege or doing the concrete polishing on this project that will now be one of the nicest buildings in Geelong for long time.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good parking. Excellent show. It was the first time we had been to Geelong Arts Center for a show loved it and have already booked our next show to see.
Great selection of shows. Hard to predict if you will be too warm or too cool inside - seems to depend on where you are seated. Usually a queue for the ladies toilets.
Went to watch a calisthenics performance. The venue is good with a few different drink and food options. The staff do tend to create artificial bottle necks when attempting to enter the theater but other than that the experience was enjoyable.
Decent theatre. Sure, it's not Capital-city-sized, but perfectly adequate for regional productions. Around 800 seats, all with good views. Bar (quite limited selections) and cafè are in the spacious foyer. Ticketek and Ticketmaster agency incorporated in the box office, but not always open.
All up, a good centre for many events/shows etc.
The Geelong Arts Centre is a well resources performing arts complex capable of taking a wide variety of shows. The staff both back and front of house are supportive, warm and well informed. The equipment (lighting sound etc) is all quality and it was a pleasure to perform there.
Went to production of The Thirty Nine Steps at Playhouse theatre. First time at a live play didn't disappoint. Absolutely brilliant in all aspects opened my eyes to Geelongs exciting Arts scene.
Currently under construction, for new part of Gpac was little out of place sound equipment technicians upper balcony. But usher allowed us to move to better seats so was great night for final closing night sound of music. Was a awesome production 9 out of 10 in my eyes.
