Gateway Charcoal Chicken

Food is generally good and well priced, but I think people saying it's the best in the area is down to it being the only chicken shop in the area. Younger staff are mostly great but owners are loud and obnoxious. 2020 now and still no EFTPOS which is pretty inconvenient.

Great food and always friendly service with a smile and a chat. They have the best tabouleh, super fresh and vibrant in colour. Chicken, chips and gravy are delish!

Chicken was very dry, scalloped potato was yellow and disgusting. Chips just okay. Would not buy here again.

Paid $20 for cold soggy chips, stuffed it up the first time and remade it to only find out that they had stuffed up again when I had got home. Very disappointed and only has cash not card

Best chips and gravy I've ever had. Cash only is unfortunate but worth the trouble to take out cash just to get their delicious chips.

Potato chips were overcooked almost burned despite specifically asking they be lightly cooked.chicken was dry.service was friendly.parking was ample

Very average chicken roll. Hard crunchy bread roll with next to no chicken or mayo in it. Chicken tender but flavourless. Wont be going back

THE BEST CHIPS. Chicken is great, meal packs have great variety and lots of different salads. I get in my car, drive, put up with traffic, find a parking spot just to buy THE BEST CHIPS and then drive home.

Chicken roll very average. Hard crunchy roll (should be soft IMO for a chicken roll) and hardly any chicken in the roll. Chicken pieces were tender but flavourless as was the mayo and gravy. Disappointed after reading such good reviews. Wont be going back

Good value meals with a range to choose from, friendly staff. But on our particular visit the chips had too much salt and our chicken was a bit dry. They don't accept eftpos here but there is an ATM a couple of shops up.

Really good service and the quality is good here. Had a V Iced Coffee and a chicken plus chips and was stuffed

We always get great tasting chicken here! I must say the salads are quite bland though. There are much nicer side dishes available at other places for that price. I highly suggest updating the salads / side dishes at least a little to make them a bit more enticing. It would be really nice to have something healthy that tastes great to go along with that yummy chicken.

Friendly customer service. Freshly cooked charcoal chicken. A reasonable menu selection to choose from. Prices reasonable. Service was quick and courteous. Good salad selection to choose from also. Chicken was hot and cooked beautifully. Minimal seating, yet. It is mainly a takeaway shop. Ample parking and easy access from car park. Definitely worth a visit.

They don't take card. This is very inconveniet for every customer that does have cash, o had to go get money out of the nearest ATM which has a minimum withdawl of $20 which at the time i didn't have. I went back and then y suggested I withdawl from Coles.

It shouldn't be that strenuous to purchase food.
Though their customer service was good and the gentlemen serving me was polite and seemed like he was good at problem solving.

I suggest they invest making purchases by card possible.

I've been going to gateway Charcoal Chicken since 1998, & Now My entire Family still get's to Enjoy the Great food They're Mummy & Daddy Loved while the two of them Started Courting All those Year's ago. Amazing Service, very Friendly enviroment & Pristine too. =).

Always fresh chicken, salads and chips. Don't live in Langwarrin anymore but when we are in town, we always get Charcoal!

The owner is on the ball and regimented. Staff are there to please. Best chicken and chips for miles. Well done.
