Gasworks Arts Park reviews
30Fabulous little farmers market tucked away in Graham street selling a wide range of fresh and baked food. I bought some eggs, milk, turkey, pork, yoghurt, bread, gnocchi and lasagne. Some of these are organic or free range and all are either locally made or sold by Vic regional producers. I had already done my fruit and veggie shop so didn't need anything this time. Had to exercise great restraint to not purchase any of the delicious pastries, donuts or tarts on display as had a very big Friday night feast.next time will be different!
Well established local Cafe, friendly staff, good reasonably priced food. Very good coffee excellent barista. Dog friendly.
Gasworks is fine for a quick stroll but it's not very big. It's impossible to avoid other dogs chasing balls unless you're on the outskirts.
Twice I’ve called to enquire about show tickets and twice the receptionist was incredibly rude to me. He was abrupt, and rudely told me I should find the info online. I didn’t end up buying tickets the second time because he was so I’ll-mannered. I would suggest that customer satisfaction isn’t high on the park’s management’s priorities.
Large open space with a lovely cafe nearby. We run our monthly maker sessions at the cafe. There's also a very active arts collective run by a not for profit. Definitely worth checking out.
Great little café, close to the park, serving excellent chai's. It has outdoor tables as well as an indoor area. The staff are friendly and polite. The service was excellent my food and drinks arrived very quickly. Also the outdoor area is under cover so you can still sit outside if it rains. All in all an excellent cafe. Highly recommended.
Always a home to us performing arts industry folk.
Fab Cafe, beautiful courtyard, fab performance spaces for audiences and casts alike.and then there's the park itself.
Great dog-friendly cafe, with exceptionally friendly and helpul staff. Tasty food and drinks, with a good range of sweets.
I really like going to the farmers market, the park is also spacious that is suitable for dog walking and some outdoor activities, also a plus that it is pretty close to the beach
The spouse and I wandered in to this venue and were greeted immediately by polite staff. We picked some food neither of us have had before and grabbed a seat outside in the shaded courtyard. Our food was quickly brought out and served in paper baskets and bags which was a nice touch and added an air of picnic to our day. Great coffee, better venue best staff and food. Have a go.
Great place to socialise your dog. A good mix of large and small pups all interacting with each other.
Open, spacious, park benches, shady trees, kiosk offering food and drinks.great for picnics! Dog owners love it! Pack a picnic, explore and enjoy!
No fart jokes please - this is a serious review.
I''ve never actually been to a show or event here, but we do go to the farmers market, and it's a terrific area and setup.
Great park and cool Cafe there too.
Overall really nice area to visit.
The farmers market that is on once a month here is wonderful. Gasworks park is lush & green, with beautiful trees. Great place for dogs to run off leash. Cafe is cute with some very tasty treats. The gallery space indoors is wonderful for exhibitions & the threatre is small & intimate. A must to visit.
Thoroughly enjoyed our night at Gasworks Theatre watching After Oscar. Especially as our neice was part of it. Listening to the audience after the play finished everyone was very positive and praising the cast, venue and the script writers. Can not wait till we can go there again.
The farmers market at Gasworks is a delight. Every third Saturday of the month. Really lovely vibe and nice produce from over Victoria
Great park but uptight dog walkers and obnoxious theatre company keep trying to ban local school kids from using this PUBLIC park
Many people bringing their dogs here at the moment, as there are a lot of open spaces for everyone to enjoy. Has a great market next to it too.
Just needs a few less dogs (or a few fewer?) and I'd give 5 stars. Though, if you have a dog, or a child that likes dogs, 5 stars. Though if you have a child who wants a playground, it's 3 stars. Oh I don't know. Just check it out if you're local. Has a small arts centre and a monthly farmers market pre-covid - aka BC19.
Gasworks is a relaxing oasis only 5 minutes from Melbourne's CBD. Spacious part and modern/clean facilities.
One of Melbourne's best Farmers Markets, which is held every 3rd Saturday of the month.
At the market, make sure you visit the 'Glade' around behind the main building - the best Open Pasture eggs can be found there.
