Gariwerd Motel

A family with 2 young kids just stayed here for 4 nights. We found it a pleasant stay. The room is basic but has everything. The beds and pillows were in the right firm which I loved. It's a contactless service but I was promptly informed by the hosts before arrival and after check-in. Both hosts were lovely in person. Just follow the timetable at the reception to borrow books /DVDs and games. I would recommend this motel to others.

Very friendly and responsive staff. Nice location close to all the amenities and central to all the attractions. Will definitely come back when we visit this place again.

The managers sent a series of texts with really helpful information about the property and the area. The room itself was comfortable, clean and spacious. The property was really close to some of the hiking trails and to town. Really enjoyed my stay!

Great communication and customer service.short walk into the centre of town and best of all - kookaburras and kangaroos. Just beautiful

David was super helpful and friendly, the room was comfortable and reasonably well equipped and the bed was reasonably comfortable too. We were after an inexpensive but pleasurable stay and they delivered!

This motel is just perfect. The rooms are spacious, quiet and comfortable, with all your creature comforts, even the beds are great and I need a good bed!
The view is amazing and you have wildlife right on your doorstep. A lot of kangaroos visit daily along with numerous birdlife. It’s walking distance to town, so all your shops and restaurants are close by which is convenient. There are bbqs and table/chairs set up. They have a fire pit too so upon request they’ll get wood and start that for you to sit around with your loved ones and a glass of wine to just relax (it’s heaven).
The staff/owners are helpful, friendly, accommodating and I promise you won’t want to leave…. I certainly didn’t! Numerous look outs and breathtaking waterfalls are also close by, it’s utter serenity with the view of the mountains. Just be careful and mindful of the Kangaroos as they are absolutely everywhere and jump out without notice. I can’t wait to go back xo

Decent place. I got an SMS with check-in instructions so I didn’t need to go to reception. So check your phone before checking in to avoid awkwardness.

That place meet our expectations and we enjoy our stay there, staff was good n the top of their communication as well

Stayed for 2 nights recently and can't speak highly enough. The rooms, although a bit dated, were big, immaculate and well equipped. The staff were great, even doing my laundry free of charge. We utilised the barbecue and the firepit. All in all a lovely stay and if I am back in the area I would return in a heartbeat.

Quiet, clean and comfortable. Very pleasant stay; easy contactless check in / check out. An easy walk into ‘town’. Lovely waking to the sound of the birds.

The contact less check-in was super easy. And still able to send a sms and get great service.
The TV reception was not great. But we r in the grampians. And the offer DVDs to hire to stick a movie on at the end of your trek. And had board games the kids could borrow.
WIFI worked great so that's a plus
Beds are comfy
And rooms are clean
Aircons work a treat.
And we get a sms each day with updates about the weather and which staff is on for the day.
Love it

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gariweld Motel. Kelly and David are wonderfully informative hosts and all the team are so friendly. The website and guest information are excellent, accurate and provide great insights to create a memorable stay in the area.

This motel was very clean, exceeded my expectations and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Hosts are great but the place needs revamp.

Pros:
1. Close to halls gap shops and pinnacle view point
2. From the rear there is access to the oval where you can find kangaroos, emu's and birds
3. Nice fire place and bbq area at back
4. Tiny 21" TV with DVD
5. Aircon works
6. Most importantly staff are super friendly and very helpful. Tried their best to make our stay comfortable
7. Contact less check-in and check-out
8. Parking is not an issue

Cons:
1. No proper kitchen only a small electric stove and dining area available.
2. Rooms and equipment are very old and needs a revamp
3. Fridge doesn't freeze/cool enough
4. Place is just tidy and not clean enough
5. Can find spiders, geckos and insects around.
6. Shower and taps won't work if people next room using. So, plan to take shower in weird timings

Clean and tidy room. Kelly and David were so lovely and helpful! Very friendly people and chatted to us- helping out with some local knowledge! Kelly also have a great dvd recommendation which we really enjoyed

Great location & great accommodation. We booked last minute & arrived late. Kelly could not have been more helpful & had turned heating & blanket on for us so we were not cold. Lots of considerate touches like that. Gorgeous early morning walk to see the wildlife - hosts a mine of information- short walk to centre for breakfast. Really impressed

They have a nice grass area out the back with tables and chairs even fire pits and BBQs. Great place to sit and chill after walking around and seeing the sights etc.
