There used to be a cafe here that closed quite a few years ago. I just discovered that there was a new cafe business that opened up here, about a year ago.
I just enjoyed a superb Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and a lovely coffee.
The Eggs Benedict was one of the best I've had.
The staff are all absolutely lovely and helpful as well.
I live in walking distance and will definitely be back.
Edit: I thought I was writing a good review, but I've just been reading through a heap of other reviews for the cafe and discovered that mine is basically just the same as almost all the others. It's most impressive to have so many fantastic reviews for a cafe and it speaks volumes for the quality of the food and the staff, not to mention the coffee! I was absolutely delighted with it and I'm so happy that pretty much everyone else feels the same. Well done to all the staff. It was an absolute pleasure to have a meal there.

Update down the track! I have now been back many times and love to bring friends who visit from Melbourne or Interstate, to come for a meal. I can always be confident that it will be a great advertisement for Bendigo and that the meals and coffee will be first rate, along with the friendly helpful service. My recent visit was no exception.
Update: Gallo Coffee continue to excel! If I want to be confident of good food and good coffee, this is the place to go. The staff are always friendly and helpful and encourage feedback about the quality of their offerings. I have always had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, but decided to have the smashed avo for a change, the other day. It was piled high and perfectly presented. Can't recommend this place highly enough. Thanks to all the staff!

Bloody good coffee and in my opinion, with out a doubt, the best place for breakfast/brunch in Bendigo.
Gallo in a family owned and run establishment at the south end of Bendigo on the main road out of town, there is parking at the back accessible from the side gate, you can park out back and enter the shop via the door in the fence.

The owners and their family are cheerful and friendly, the food is first class.

Food was absolutely amazing and quick. Staff are nice and it has a great atmosphere. I highly recommend.

The customer service here is outstanding! You are immediately greeted even if they are busy and told they will be with you shortly! 10 stars girls! So many other cafes lack this attitude! Love the food and coffee, you won’t be disappointed by gallo cafe

I dropped in here for a quicke bite to eat before a stressful day of uni.
I was greeted at the counter by a lovely woman with a genuine smile and a welcoming nature. The cook hand delivered my roll with excitement like she couldnt wait for me to eat it which I thought was fun!
All in all the roll was fresh, hot and delicious, the smoothie was refreshing and just what I needed to wake up. Glad I stopped here

Coming in from Melbourne for an overnight stay, coffee is a ritual for me each morning. Researched for highly rated places for coffee and found Gallo Coffee Co.to kick start our day. Went with a friend and we were greeted by the "lovely" family that owes and runs the establishment. They were all very welcoming albeit a quick stop but their coffee and hot chocolate were on the money. The coffee was on point. Good blend, nice and strong texture, great balance. I'll definitely be back for food, more coffee and the awesome banter this this family owned business! Highly recommended.

Super friendly customer service, food looks and tastes beautiful. Chai lattes are great. Also a lot of options for vegetarians. My new favourite brekky place!

First time visit, but won't be our last. Great family run atmosphere and the food was great. The young people taking orders and waiting tables were really friendly and accommodating. Lovely casual brunch and they were happy to whip up a puppachino for Princess Freyja, so extra brownie points for that

Tried this place for the first time after driving and walking past it for months.
Amazing menu, lots of variety in food and drinks.
Fast service.
Asked for hollandaise on the side which the waitress did not pass on but was able to scrape most off. Waitress seemed new as wasn't very confident but was quite young so will no doubt get better over time.
Would definitely come again.

Gem of a place. The staff are fantastic. So nice. The food and the coffee is really solid too. And a nice little play space for little kids out the back (although some of the toys are starting to look a bit ragged).

My new local favorite coffee shop! Absolutely fabulous coffee and even better family feel. And steps from home. My regular coffee is always prepared at a perfect 60°C. So professional using a thermometer to make it just right. I’ve also had the yummy sides as a main course breakfast. Mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, hash browns. Delish! Highly recommended. Great little coffee shop where staff were accommodating considering we came at 130 and they closing at 2.00. Good food and coffee. Staff excellent
