15Lunch options are limited and the most expensive I have ever encountered anywhere. $30 for a BLT!
Beautiful location overlooking the Broken River. We had a very tasty breakfast and coffees and were looked after by a very pleasant young lady.
Ordered breakfast, asked for the choc waffles and large ice latè after paid for it and sat down the waffles came out with no choc bit as they run out paid full price for missing ingredients then coffee came out hot, asked for an iced, came back with a tiny small glass, paid over $30 for this, was horrible.waffles are just warmed up and cheap.views nice, bad food/service.
Lovely spot for a cafe with beautiful views. Lovely desserts in the cabinets. Lunch was nice but the prices were on the high end for what we were served. Staff were welcoming & pleasant - a bit under the pump as they were short staffed (well done for still holding the forte). The highlight was the gallery and their thoughtfulness to make it appealing & accessible to kids - just perfect!
Ate here today. Ordered Nachos that were supposed to have pulled pork as part of the dish. There was none. I got a plate of corn chips with some melted cheese, a few jalapenos, a splodge of sour cream and avocado and the tiniest hint of tomato 'jam'. Over $20 for that? Pathetic! As I was with a group I didn't like to make a fuss, but I won't be back.
I was a guest at a 70th birthday celebration on Saturday 10th September, 2022 together with about 30 guests. The initial reception was friendly and courteous and staff were very helpful. I was offered coffee or a drink immediately. The service was very prompt, all staff were well mannered and very helpful and I enjoyed my meal. A bust tour arrived apparently with very little notice and the staff managed to accommodate their requirements as well.
I have previously been joint owner / manager of two cafes and would hire all of the staff for my own cafe. Thank you to the manager and staff for a great experience and I will be sure to visit again.
Kind regards John
Fiah and chips was delicious. Love the chips. Service was friendly and we didnt wait long for our food which was good given it was busy when we were there.
Love eating on the balcony overlooking the lake. Just a lovely view. Would defo go back again.
Extremely poor service from Christie. Cold greeting and when asked to have a hard poached eggs with the smashed avo she bluntly stated “it comes as it is”. Serving size was small with one soft poached egg on 1 piece of toast. Asked for gf toast and was assured by waiter it was gf but clearly wasn’t. Also, the menu said the meal came with beetroot hummus and it was missing. At $24 this was a complete Rip off. Coffees ok but small portion. Very disappointing as the view is beautiful.
Just popped in for a coffee but would like to go back for lunch. Food looked lovely and fresh. Staff delightful and served in good time. Outlook was lovely over the lake near the fountain. Will definitely go back again. It's located next to the Botanic gardens and rose gardens. Lovely area to go for a walk, there is a path all the way around the lake for a longer walk.
We were very disappointed with our experience today. Yes, a beautiful outlook over the lake, and a lovely entrance to the cafe through the art gallery gift shop. However we ordered one toasted sandwich each - $30 for the two was very expensive. Then my husband’s arrived - he waited, but I encouraged him to eat so it wouldn’t go cold. He had finished and mine was still no where to be seen. I went to see where it was - only just going into the sandwich toaster. Then when it arrived it was not even the correct order! And no apology! And it wasn’t busy. Very disappointing - over priced, unable to enjoy lunch together, and very lackadaisical service.
Needed better entry organisation! Servers were well presented and friendly, menu was limited. Iced chocolate, well l am still looking for the chocolate. Salt and pepper squid ok, salads lacked flavour, no dressings! Although like always beautiful view from Verandah.
A lovely place to catch up with your friends.
But cafe doesn't offer enough lower $$$
On the menu nor more variety to choose from. A little disappointing.
Absolutely beautiful sitting outside under the shade of the umbrella with a cool breeze blowing from off the lake.staff were wonderful and the meal was fantastic.
This was a great breakfast venue overlooking the lake, good menu, nice food if a tiny bit overpriced, still 5 * from me
Pretty expensive, especially the ice coffee and juice which were $8 each! Tourist trap items perhaps. Brownie was disappointing - not a brownie at all, just some average cake/loaf with rich icing on top. However, main courses were both great - we had the crusted barramundi and the vegetable salad. Staff were also friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was nice.
