Futsal Oz - Thomastown reviews
18 Entertainment Entertainment Entertainment, All around good bit of fun, not a dull moment in this joint from great futsal fun to punch ons atleast once per game.
Bring your popcorn and enjoy friendly and family fun.
Overall atmosphere is usually great m, but always a mixed crowd depending on the teams that play,
Great place to play Futsal and enjoy good matches. Great atmosphere all around, friendly staff and good courts
Extremely poorly run organisation. Staff have no control of the behaviours of teams, allow intimidation and violent tactics of certain teams without repercussions and do not clearly communicate with paying members.
When Futsal Oz was desperate for teams to play post COVID-19, we were contacted immediately. We agreed to help them out as we have been playing there for multiple years. Despite the overpriced fees, which have always been paid on time without issue. The company is money hungry and do not care for the wellbeing of the teams. A player of ours tore ligaments in his ankle on one occasion and the referee didn't stop the game and didn't have ice available to help the injury.
Due to recent events and incompetence at the highest level, we will not be returning to Futsal Oz. If you are searching for a well run and fair place to play futsal casually, this is not the place.
Women and girls BEWARE! Futsal Oz has a history of prioritizing their profits and income ABOVE the safety of the people who play at their venues, particularly female players.
Case in point: In a recent match in their (supposedly highly regarded) Series Futsal competition, a female player was threatened, during the match, by another player. The player – with a long and demonstrable history of violent and inappropriate behaviour – threatened the female player that she would be found in the car park after the game and “have her head cracked open”. The female player - the target of the vile threat - immediately informed the referee who simply laughed and took no further action. The female player left the field immediately in tears, traumatized by the threat of violence made against her. After further, official, complaints were lodged against Futsal Oz, they reluctantly undertook some kind of “investigation”. In doing so, the player who made the threats of violence against the female player ADMITTED to making the threat to crack open the skull of the female player.
Notwithstanding that this is a criminal offence, at any sporting organisation – or workplace – that kind of behaviour would – and should – be immediately stamped out. In this case, especially considering the player admitted to making the violent threats, the player should have IMMEDIATELY AND PERMANENTLY been suspended and banned from all Futsal Oz venues and competitions.
But Futsal Oz felt that pleasing the team this player was on, was more important ($$$). The only action they took was to tell the player not to do it again – not to say such things. That’s it! Despite a long history of violent and vulgar threats and despite an admission of threatening to crack another player’s skull open after the game, Futsal Oz, effectively, took ZERO action.
In a society that still, sadly, struggles to address violence against women, one need only look at an organisation like Futsal Oz whom, by their failure to take appropriate action – indeed any action at all when there is clear and admitted evidence of threats of violence against women – appear to condone and endorse such violent threats against women, for the sake of maintaining their bottom line. It’s impossible to see how this grave and serious issue of violence against women can ever be properly resolved.
By their own actions, Futsal Oz clearly does not appropriately protect the safety of female players at its venues. By all means, go and play there. But if you’re woman or girl looking to start or join a team there, be under no illusion as to the lack of respect and agency Futsal Oz will accord you.
NB: It should be noted that official complaints regarding the above incident have been lodged with ASIC and Worksafe Victoria.
Amazing Futsal centre. World class facility. Staff a very friendly and I couldn’t rate this place any higher. 5 stars!
Nice. I go there almost every week and the staff are friendly and accommodating, as are the amenities.
Not really a soccer fan but was great to watch the kids play. A bit of hygiene in the toilet area wouldn't hurt, it stunk of urine well before you got near them.
Great atmosphere there. Fantastic place for kids to join a club and learn. Plenty of seating for spectators especially in the main arena. They also have national championship games played there. Staff and umpires are all friendly and helpful. I love the place.
Ive now played a tournament here for 2 years straight and I must admit it's a pretty good place. Has 4 courts, one is larger than the other three and if the name doesn't imply it their all about futsal. From what I've seen they do from u8 to seniors but don't quote me on that cause I did see something about 18 months to 6 year olds. The refs are pretty fair, has toilets located up strairs and they usually have a barbecue outside. I quite like it.
Been working there for the past 5 weeks it started off ok but the last few weeks the score boards haven't been working and as a ref trying to manage the game and clock stoping and incorrect scores being punched in when hiting the right buttons makes it fustrating and also for the players and people watching
Nice courts and massive structure. I have been there in some matches and it was a good experience to whom loves play futsal. Awesome staffs and good options to all ages and genders to play. Highly recommended! The only weak point is to be a bit far from city if you go by public transport, however it is a great place for futsal lovers.
Best place to play futsal. Their elite league structure and set up is the best I’ve seen! Look forward to every visit
Great indoor soccer stadiums. They have 4 different soccer fields and also a soccer club. Little kickers host their toddler program here with their independent soccer coaches. Great program. Also, they have under 9 year mix gender training and soccer matches for the local club. Plenty of parking. Changing rooms and bathrooms available
Most unprofessional sports organisation I've ever played in. Money grabbing crooks. Don't care about player experience. No consistency with fixtures and just make it up as they go along.
What a great space for activity. Some nice use of space with the courts being well placed. Went to see my cousin play in the Futsal Nationals where they made it to the Grand Final. Great umpires and equipment.
Air conditioning needs improving. The fan was blowing hot air on a 38°c day. Otherwise great place to play slash watch futsal.
Futsal is without doubt a sleeping giant in the world of sporting entertainment. The skills of the players at the elite level of Series Futsal are unbelievable. Fast. Exciting. Non-Stop. The venue at Thomastown could do with some sprucing up, but the game makes up for that. Could not recommend the sport more highly.
Good for kids parties who enjoys soccer the only downside I would give it is that their food and Beverage council is mixed with the front counter and takes quite a long time to get any service but other than that the place is good.
