Fruit Shack reviews
23It was good till being taken over not long a go. Shelves are now to close have all sorts of staff that you don't need. The old staff would chat not now wouldn't bother going back. Its also very clutter as well.
As an Asian I found this shop is very good and convenient as they sell veggies and some other products that are rare to be found at regular shop in Ballarat. They sell morning glory (water spinach), snake beans, fresh chillies, fresh banana leaves, etc. Their price is affordable too.
Fruit shack is a small locally owned business, So I defibitwly prefer to shop here over Safeway or Coles, The shop is little small though, but their prices are always great and the produce is good also. The staff are great and very friendly.
Best place in town to get Asian food to cook at home. Staff have always been nice, great value.
Great place to buy veggies that supermarkets don't supply especially those for Asian cooking.
An absolute treasure trove of Asian ingredients and some of the best value fruit and veg in town. I prefer local businesses any time but so much the better that you will be saving heaps compared to the giant supermarket chains that spend billions on ads to tell us how what great value they are.
This Asian grocery has been a great source of supplies for people who want to cook some Asian dish and some who are far away from home and want to find something remind their hometown like cooking a comfort food. All exotic vegetables, herbs, condiments, seasonings and frozen meats are well organized on the shelves. Great services were from the owners. Loved the wide range of products from China, thai, India and Vietnam.
1st time shopping here today, purchased a punnet of Strawberries which are all Rotten & a punnet of Blueberries which are old shrivelled & soggy. Won't be back, not feeding my family compost: - (
More than just fruit and veg, an incredible array of Asian grocery lines with some European treats in the mix, lovley ladies happy to help with any questions regarding items and they genuinely care about how you are!
They have a wide variety of produce but it's not always great quality, sometimes it goes off quickly. The service is so-so but adequate.
I been visiting Fruit Shack quite some time and they provide all the varieties of seasonal fruits and vegetables which you do not get in other places in ballarat.
Great older working staff but not as much of a range of fruit and veg compared to how it use to be.
Good range of fruit and veges, they are expanding the asian range in store. Fruit is sometime second grade but is still edible and fresh hence they sell a lot cheaper than l
other Fruit stores.
Well stocked, fresher than the one next door to it. One day a week, slight discount for the pensioners. I think it is alright.
Certainly not as good as it was, was very friendly. But the new owners are a little cold and not as greeting as the last lot.
Good cheap fruit & veggies. Also good for more obscure options, particularly Asian varieties. Really great variety of spices. I always go here before heading to the supermarkets.
Very nice produce and great service a good place to get your fruit and veg also a good range of Asian product's.
The same price as the supermarkets, some stuff more expensive.the only cheaper item ive found is the kale.staff arent friendly, and the store hasnt got the best appearance.has more vegetables than fruit, and you have to pick through the produce to get something decent.i only buy food for my guinea pig here, yet i still have to pick through the vegies.this store is more like a shed than a shop.they have alot of asian groceries, but alot (most) of it you dont know what it is as the store doesnt have what the item is, and its written in asian on the packets.they also dont have prices on alot of the asian foods.if i didnt have my guinea pig, i wouldnt buy from here.when i buy fruit and vedgies for us, i shop at the supermarkets.
Great service and produce all fresh and everything you need for your weekly fruit and veg shopping also a good range of Asian product's
