Friendly Forest & Sensory Trail reviews
12What a fantastic little walk. Wheelchair friendly, you can get actively involved, great for kids. And all where you would least expect it! Absolute winner!
Only 5km from central Ballarat, there's something for everyone and it's got good signage to help explain the settings
Great quiet spot for a walk up until the wallaby lookout. The lookout that's 1km further is a nice view, but the picnic area has glass and rubbish there.
Thought this would be a nice, safe place to walk the dog. It is a lovely place, even in the rain. However, the only other person there also had a dog, off the lead! Please obey the signs, dogs must be on leads at all times. My dog has been attacked by other dogs on 2 separate occasions and I am now a nervous dog walker.
A lot of people speak highly of it, but I didn't think it was all that special. But I don't have sensory issues so it's not really aimed at me I guess. There needs to be a bin out there at least.
Great tranquil walking track. Lots of flora and fauna. Plenty of places to sit and take a rest and enjoy the space. Wheelchair accessible.
A great walk for all ages to enjoy, rich smells of eucalyptus on warm days in addition to lush vegetation to fill the senses. Those who need to rest or want to stop and take in nature, there are benches throughout. Want to make it more challenging? Carry on up to the lookout and see an amazing view of Ballarat.
Just took a client out and we both absolutely loved the walk, the story, looking for the animals and the peace and quiet of the bush. Such a great idea for anyone!
Easy walk through revegetated and landscaped native garden with benches, stone circles and a pair of stone sofas.
Enjoyed this walk so much we spent most of the day here. Nice flat walk with seats scattered around. Well signposted and set out well. No toilet and it would be nice to have table and chairs to have a picnic lunch. Great for birdwatching and just to relax.
A very interesting walk with lots of points of interest created along the route. You can take your dog with you on leash which is great, and kids generally find the sensory trail items interesting along the route. It's a linear walk there and back and is relatively flat with clearly marked path trails.
