FREEDOM KITCHENS
Do not go near Freedom kitchens to quote on or build your new kitchen. Non existent project management with out of proper sequence demolition / building foiling, for example, our requirement for a new tanked lino floor, trades contracted by Freedom much less than competent, refusal to comply with the law regarding electrical and plumbing safety certificates and a refusal to repair dodgy work is just the start. How about denial and obfuscation with a direct refusal to remedy faults for years? For example, now when the oven kicks in the flat’s lights dim - no certificate of electrical safety? Another example, water gushed back through the air conditioning from the washing machine taking out the carpet in the lounge room and possibly creating even more damage – no certificate of plumbing compliance? Worse, an absolute refusal to take responsibility or even admit liability or honour guarantees or fix the issues such as [another example] delaminating panels. We stopped one of their electricians re-entering the property after he dangerously botched the job and even now we have hinges failing because of dodgy installation. Yet another example, they turned up with prefabricated cupboards which did not allow our existing and expensive sliding pantry [60cm] to be used despite specific requests to the contrary – their response – ‘this is our standard cupboard size [50cm]’. In other words forget what you ordered, this is what you are getting even if it doesn’t meet requirements!
And still they refuse to fix their dodgy work. Most of their work needs re-doing yet they obfuscate to the point of even denying the trades they sourced, provided and directed were their responsibility.
Go anywhere but Freedom.

We had a wonderful experience ordering my sofa from Freedom Moorabbin. Steve and Richard were very helpful. I was looking for sofa for many months across many stores across Melbourne, and could finalize today here, thanks to Freedom Moorabbin, particularly Steve & Richard. Hopefully we get it delivered on time by end of this year!

Had issue with my order. The manager, Richard, assisted me rather efficiently and satisfactorily resolved my issue. Steve was also helpful. Would recommend discussing any issue you have with them as they were pleasant in their negotiations. Alison, interior consultant, was stunning in her assistance.

17 years after my last purchase at Freedom, I have now returned to Freedom, as a loyal customer. Over the last 6 months, I made multiple purchases, and all were at the Moorabbin store. On most of those occasions, I was lucky enough to interact with the manager of the store, Richard.

While Richard was incredibly busy with multiple customers queuing up to speak to him, he was always calm, efficient, professional and patiently sorted out issues. Richard went through great lengths to help customers make the right decisions with their purchases, and to make sure they were happy.

When I had issues with some of my purchases, I found it time consuming to navigate the process and to get them resolved. However, each time I reached out to Richard, he was very understanding, helpful and more importantly, sorted out the issues quickly.

I am very happy with my experience with Richard, and I just wanted to share this, as it’s not often you get such great customer service these days!

Something you notice about places like this is how keen the staff are to accost you when you enter. I was untroubled by anyone.
Freedom has plenty of appealing things, in fact many things I had no interest in and that was OK. My purpose for visiting was entirely recliner related meaning Freedom was not the store for me on this occasion. Next time?

If it weren't for the initiative and action of the Assistant Store Manager (Richard), I would be posting a rating of 1 and would have chosen to buy from any other retailer for as long as I take a breath.

WHY YOU MIGHT ASK? Well put it this way, Freedom Moorabbin oversaw and remained comfortable with the overcharge of $400 for an online purchase I made over a year ago and despite a bunch of emails and phone calls, it was only today that I got my money back (Thankyou Richard).

HOW DID THAT HAPPEN YOU ASK? So after Freedom Moorabbin said "There is no stock in Australia and the lead time is indeterminate", I found the stock I had ordered was available at a different Freedom Store. So using my own initiative to get the delivery completed, in agreement with the Freedom Moorabbin Store Manager (XXXXXX), I finally had my order honoured. BUT I WAS OVERCHARGED and after being stuffed around by the same Store Manager and by the Freedom Online Customer Help Portal who just looped me back to the same Store Manager, its only Richard who had the empathy and commitment to return my money to me.
Thankyou Richard and Freedom you've got a lot of room to improve with honouring (at least) this customer!

Unfortunately we waited 12 weeks for our couch, where the delivery driver refused to attempt to get the couch in our front entrance claiming it would be too small.

When we went back to Freedom Moorabbin the experience we had was terrible, and we were super disappointed by the unsympathetic, unhelpful, and rude staff members when we had an issue with a couch we were sold.

When we were told we would need to re-select another product and wait another 12 weeks. We asked for a refund as $4,000 is a lot of money to spend on re-selecting a product you did not originally want. We don't necessarily have a spare $4,000 and are in desperate need of a couch.

They flat out refused to refund us, and claimed we couldn't "change our minds". However, we were not changing our mind as the original product was not fit for purpose.

The manager Richard was no help at all either, and after pleading with him that we needed our money back he couldn't provide any reason why we weren't entitle to a refund. He was very dismissive and unsympathetic. When I asked to escalate this further he told me to go online, and when I tried going online they told me to go to the store manager. Useless!

Now we're stuck with no one to escalate our issue with and $4,000 in debt with no couch.

I would never want to work with Freedom again in the future.

We interacted with Alison, the store designer, who was absolutely amazing to work with. With her support and assistance, she helped us design our newly renovated home and the outcome was splendid. Alison also helped us with picking up pieces of furniture and accessories that were delivered on time for Christmas. We are truly appreciative of the efforts Alison displayed. We will highly recommend Freedom Moorabbin as Alison and everyone at the store are awesome to deal!

I had an online order that was packed by the Moorabbin store. A child's wall light in the order was sent out damaged and since the 28/10/22 I have been requesting contact from the store. I have not even had the courtesy of acknowledgement from the store. No customer service at all and I can only say this is my last purchase from Freedom. Like one of the other reviewers I would give no star if possible. Obviously Freedom does not care about customer service or it's customers.

I just received a response saying I should contact the website, well after approx 10 messages backwards and forwards and no contact from Freedom Moorabbin, I take away my one star. Idiots

Shout out to the team at Freedom Moorabbin, especially Rose (a very warm, knowledgeable multi-tasking problem-solver!). Rose demonstrated great patience helping me choose and order rugs, giving great advice on look and functionality.
I don’t think working in retail is ever a walk in the park, and in a store like Freedom ot must be especially demanding with many customers (like me) wanting in-depth discussions - and of course immediate delivery!
Very impressed by the way Rose juggled customers, giving her full attention to our ‘problem’ while letting other customers know she would be with them next.
Thanks also to store manager Ann for her can-do approach and honest advice on delivery times. I also loved the way she clearly supports her team members.

I am writing this on my friends behalf as she is time poor but we wanted to express our absolute shock and horror at the service that we received from Freedom to date.

My friend and I went to Freedom on the 5th of January 2022 as we are redecorating her house. We ordered a sofa, couple of arm chairs, couple of coffee tables/side tables and 8 dining chairs. It's the 27th of July and we have not received a SINGLE ITEM yet.

While someone will respond to this post and advise it's the shocking nature of the beast due to COVID and ports and supply chain etc etc, that is not our complaint. Our complaint is around the communication, or lack of, received by Freedom here in Australia.

My friend has had MULTIPLE people call her and email her about her order. ALL the information received to date has been incorrect. When my friend calls back, NO ONE knows what's going on and voids what the other person says.

On Monday, she was finally left a voice message saying that the items are all ready to be delivered and to pay the remaining amount. She calls back to confirm and they say, yep all good. So my friend pays the remaining amount and the delivery company calls her to confirm only two of the arm chairs will be ready for PICK UP! She then calls Freedom who stutters around and has no idea what's going on.

So, now we wait for a delivery on Friday with NO IDEA what is being delivered. Never again will my friend nor I shop at Freedom for large furniture. Over $8000+ worth of items sitting in limbo since January. Multiple incorrect communications sent advising it'll be delivered April, oops no, May, oops no, June, oops no, July, oops no, August. No wait, July! Not to forget, the 8 dining chairs being available and ready for delivery in a week at the time of placing the order (we made sure it was) and then not being unavailable and then available and then unavailable at all as it was discontinued!

Seriously Freedom, pick up your game.
