Freddy's reviews
35The food was good, all came out at a reasonable time and good selection. The service however was horrendous. We went with a large group this evening and spent quite alot of money. The staff were extremely rude, particularly the girl wearing a mid length dress. They acted like they hated their lives and made us feel like an inconvenience! She cleared the table and tipped part of a drink over my hair! When she took my pizza I still had half left and didn’t even ask me if I’d finished just took it away. When we went to pay, the staff were again rude and just told us to move or wait outside. Will not be back unfortunately purely based on pure service.
A selection of dishes perfect in their simplicity. The space is homey and the staff welcoming. A perfect choice for effortless dining.
Lucas and Izzy are the best waiters I’ve ever come across. Guys, thank you so much for making my birthday so special. Freddy’s - I’ll be back for another amazing experience!
Foods good, atmosphere is good, service is pretty shocking though. Never met a group of less charismatic girls in my life. Sulked around like they were angry and the only time I saw them be polite or smile was with eachother when taking the piss behind the bar. Besides the hospitality lacking hospitality, they were extremely non attentive which seems weird considering how small the restaurant is and how many are working. Don’t work in a customer facing job if you literally hate people and lack manners lmao Not that hard to say please, thank you or even a simple hello when you come in or goodbye when you leave
My partner and I are visiting from Sydney and we absolutely loved Freddy’s! It’s our favourite food spot so far, so good we wanted to lick out plates clean. Cheers guys and see you next time!
Went here for a random weekday dinner and drinks sesh and she not disappoint! Cute vibes with dim lighting and the drinks were so yummy! We shared the mussels which were really good as well! The calamari and beef carpaccio were average but not horrible. Highlight was defs the mussels and cocktails!
Freddy's on Chapel used to be our local and boy did we fall in love with it.
The staff are warm and friendly, the venue is always a vibe and the pizza it arguably the best in town.
We now live in Bentleigh but we still drive to Chapel street just for Freddy's.
For all the GF people, Freddy's GF is the closest I have had to the real deal, it's better than most regular places pizza.
Before you walk out the door make sure you get a cheeky tiramisu for the road (trust me).
Easily one of the best modern adaptations of Italian cuisine on chapel street. Small space but very cozy with some outdoor seating.
Tried a range of pizza and wine as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival Prahran crawl. All of the varieties were tasty, pizza dough was very good - the right chew and thickness- and will have us coming back to try more food here for sure.
Best takeaway pizza I've had in Melbourne in a long while. Bases are so tasty and everything is fresh and clearly handmade. So tasty!
Ottimo Lavoro! Hands down the best Napoli style Pizze I’ve had in Melbs in the last three years. Melty crust, crepe like caramelisation and so much gluten structure with a sauce with so much balance. Bellissimo! This must be where southern hemisphere Pizzas go when the die.
Haven't had a good pizza like that ever since I came to Melbourne! Prices for Pizza and Pasta ranges between 20$ and 40$ so not the cheapest but worth it! The staff is super friendly and makes the whole experience lovely!
The pizzas were really good! The gnocchi was not to my liking. Loved that they had plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options. The place was nice and quiet when we went for an early dinner but got a little loud later in the evening
Food thrown infront of me and I was told I made a good choice. I needed to ask what the specials were and never had the opportunity to ask about the menu because waitor never came back to me. Tried to order a second drink a few times, no luck. Was asked "you want dessert? " When taking my mains plate (the only words said to me after ordering), as the only question, had been ignored several times while trying to order a second drink. I was not asked how the food was once. Food not that great. Unfriendly, don't expect much service. Won't be back.
Quaint pizza pasta bar in Chapel Street. The staff were friendly and very attentive in there service. I was happy with the meal. Highly recommend and would return.
Great space, nice feel and atmosphere, but most importantly, very good pizza. Different to what you’d get, and one of my new local favourites.
Great food that's very well-priced but really poor service. Staff pushed us out as soon as we finished eating (50 mins after arriving) despite it not being busy, and seemed agitated when we asked for a menu or to order.
Lovely food but too cramd packed with tables inside and very loud. Very difficult to hear our conversation.
Nice interior pizza restaurant and great pizzas! Service was a bit slow but that’s only because it was super busy on a Friday night! Just goes to show how popular Freddys’ is! The clams & mussels were amazing and they also have a great selection of wines
Some of the tastiest food I have ever had, I would highly recommend the gnocchi, and Danny Zuko. Extremely friendly staff with a quick service, my compliments all around
