I had my child there and it was a very gentle, wonderful experience. The staff took very good care of me and my newborn!

My recent surgery experience at Frances Perry House was outstanding, thanks in large part to the exceptional care provided by the staff. A special mention goes to Heather and Nurse Kathy, whose attentiveness and expertise were truly remarkable. They both went above and beyond in ensuring my comfort and well-being throughout my stay. The hospital's environment was welcoming and reassuring, which significantly contributed to my positive experience. I am deeply grateful for the high level of care and would wholeheartedly recommend Frances Perry House to anyone in need of medical assistance.

I had both my babies in Frances Perry house and we are extremely happy with both experiences. My eldest was born in 2021 in the midst of covid and my latest admission was in September 23 just over a week ago. I went into labour earlier than expected and the staffs on the phone was extremely reassuring and made me feel very comfortable. When I reached the hospital, everything was arranged spontaneously and my birth was such an amazing experience. I am forever grateful for the care and kindness I received from the birth suite and the ward. Sinead and Annie were so kind, reassuring and caring (birth suite midwives). The midwives in the ward were all so caring, empathetic and patient with all my concerns and needs. Special thanks to the midwives Liv, Lauren, Cassie, Anna, Amaal & Vicky. I have so much gratitude for the kindness and care I received from all the staff. They always made sure my needs were met and always ensured I was comfortable and cared for. In addition, The food was amazing! Definitely 5 star worthy. The hospital definitely fed me well and had a very impressive variety too. I was given the option to the Hyatt but chose to stay in the hospital as the service I received was top notch and I wanted to learn as much as I could from the midwives. (they will educate you on everything - especially useful for new parents) I highly recommend Frances Perry house and I am very confident with the midwives in this hospital and would not hesitate to recommend this hospital to anyone. Keep up the amazing work

Dear Frances Perry midwives and nurses,

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Thank you for your kind words and professionalism when I was in pain or afraid.
Thank you for cleaning me up and helping me to get out of bed.
Thank you for your patience through the tears, and your smiles when we had successes.
Thank you for taking so much time with us as we struggled to help bubs to get enough to eat.
That time you were willing to give, when you had so many things to do, helped us to be calm and to understand all we needed to.
Thank you for educating us, for talking to us, for reassuring us and being there to teach us to get our way through some firsts that we'll never forget - like bath time, swaddles and the football hold.
You were sensitive to our needs, to making sure my body was respected, and to bubs - treating her like the most special baby in the world rather than just another patient of the shift.
You were there in the delirious fog of our nights, and you went out of your way to make sure we were OK.

We'll never forget you. The nurses and midwives who saw us through the biggest time in our lives so far, even though one of us has only experienced one week of life so far.

We send so much love and gratitude.

A service i received during my journey was great and memorable. Thank you to level 6 birth suit team and specially thank you to midwife/nurse Jen, you are the best. The way you care/treat me during my labour was unforgettable. I really appreciate for your support and help.
Furthermore, i would like to thank level 7 maternity ward for looking after us after delivery.
I would say every staff i met up there was great, professional and respectful.

Didn’t go to Frances Perry to give birth to a baby but for another procedure.
Other than a misunderstanding of lady checking me in at front desk, all other staff / my Dr were amazing.

Dr Deborah Neesham - gem she makes you feel so at ease. True professional.

Michelle (check in nurse who helped fill out admission papers)
anaesthetist - Dr Maggie Wong
Kelly (unit / ward manager)

All so friendly, considerate and compassionate. Felt very grateful to have them around.

Generally, nurses were friendly and made me feel so comfortable.

2nd time here.

Rooms are forever being ‘renovated’ do yourself a favour if you get allocated room 29. Ask for a transfer.
The air conditioner noise is unbearable many of the nurses comment on it as well (maintenance came to look at it when our son was meeting his daughter for the first time we politely asked to give us 5minutes of private time) then we went outside with the baby to let him look at it he was trying to explain there nothing they can do (I wasn’t overly interested as I had more important matters and thanked him). It’s between 45-50db doesn’t seem like much but it’s enough to not be able to hear what your partner is saying in light conversation.

Staff are great - though like most hospitals have issues with manning so they get in additional contractors ect to try cover the gaps.

Food is ok to average - just typical hospital food. There are plenty of other options in the area though.

In terms of birthing facilities and care - can’t fault it.

So if it wasn’t for the air-conditioner/room I’d give it 4-5 stars but it’s reflective of our stay here at the time. Or and not to mention - forever being renovated.

I’m sure the trades can take more care not to leave plaster everywhere.

Here’s a tip for them, bag and tape up the rooms. Instead of vacuuming with the door open so it goes into the hallways with the babies (same went for level 6 on the surgery) plaster dust all over the floors being walked over and cross contaminating. No idea how it’s acceptable but that’s the FPH way. I guess the staff are all use to it as it’s been ongoing for over 2 years now.

I thought I’d edit this review, the Hyatt is worth 5 stars. For a relatively smooth birth it’s an amazing experience. I wish we did it for our first. Though needed the extra care so we couldn’t.

But I highly recommend FP, and going to the Hyatt asap.

The rooms at FP are certainly at that 2 star mark. The Hyatt is 5 star.

Hi,

I was just writing to provide some feedback about my recent care.

I was admitted on the 4.5.23 for induction, my mother and sister were waiting in the waiting room, nurse was very abrupt and rude.

The next day my I had an emergency C section which the doctor and nurses in the operating room were lovely.

Unfortunately it all stated to go downhill from there on. As soon as I came out from recovery I had a nurse called honey who was very rough and rude to me and my visitors, even told my neice of 12 years old to leave the room as children weren't allowed she even made her tear up. I then had a nurse who asked me how I was feeling, when I replied i felt terrible she simply said yep like every other woman In the ward a very un necessary comment. I was then moved the next day to my room with my partner and baby. Some nurses were lovely, however most are tired burnt out.
I was there for a total of 5 days and everyday I would almost have to wait 20 mins plus to wait for the nurse to attend my room for pain/medication relief. There was a whole day where no one checked on me until the next nurse started her shift. I had to ask for them to clean my room, change the bed sheets as I had a c section. When i asked for breast pads I was told they had run out! (you would think a private hospital would have supply)

A nurse even gazed my childs head against the wall when she went to swaddle her didn't even apologise until I said something this was very daunting as a first time mother.

Paid for private and i was very neglected, frustrated when I complained all I got told was to email.

So I leave my review here as I don't want other mothers going through this terrible experience save your time and money and go elsewhere

Thanks.

I had an elective caesarean at Frances Perry. All the staff at were professional with great bedside manner and made me feel comfortable and cared for my entire stay. The food was surprisingly delicious and they catered to my vegan preferences. The Grand Hyatt stay was wonderful too. I was actually sad to leave!

Delivered my 1st baby here. Hospital staff were all great and knowledgeable, were always happy to assist and answer any questions. The hospital food was always nice. The premises appeared really clean and well kept. The bed was very squeaky and did keep me up the first few nights as everytime I moved it was rather loud. Unfortunately during our stay they were also renovating and the noise all day was VERY unpleasant and extreamly loud which was dissappointing considering the exspense spent to go here.
Option of travelling to the Grant Hyatt was a great touch and really made the transition before coming home much easier.
Having the OBs on site also made things much easier.

My son was born in June, 3 and half month, I’m still waiting for that birth certificate, coz this hospital didn’t send notification for birth to BDM (government)
What a great job. I have contacted hospital 100 times, they promise me to send that ASAP. So far I’m still waiting.

Our one star review is for Midwife Veronica.

We called the buzzer for help with settling our newborn. Veronica stormed in and removed our baby from our room WITHOUT CONSENT.

Her further remarks were rude, abrupt and very condescending.

When escalated to Unit Manager Gabrielle, she was kind enough to hear me out. She asked for my email address to keep me updated on this case.

I did not hear anything for a week so followed up. Gabrielle assured me of disciplinary action for her staff accordingly.

Gabrielle had offered a formal apology from Ramsay Health however we have yet to hear anything.
