Fox in the Corn reviews
62Soft lighting, very nice atmosphere, friendly staff & food was amazing. Highly recommend the home made sticky date pudding one of the best i have had in a very long time. Will definitely be back
The beef ragu pasta was tasty. However, the the pasta broke easily. Maybe next time I’ll try the spaghetti pasta which had a bit more structure (tried my friend’s spaghetti carbonara - which was quite good).
The chorizo pizza was very good. Thin crust with no flop.
Note this place is only open 3 nights per week.
The Mediterranean pasta I had was atrocious. It tasted solely of pepper and the vegetables themselves had an awful taste. Definitely inauthentic Italian food. You need a better chef.
Il ristorante è un disgraziato alla cucina italiana.
My favourite pasta in the world, always sad when I get to the last ravioli. The sauce is rich and tasty and love the smell of fresh cooked pasta inside the restaurant.
Nice quiet place for a good meal. The food was nice and the drinks were nice. Prices weren't too bad either.
Great atmosphere with low lighting to match the superb food and craft beers. The gluten free gnocchi was very tasty with mushroom sauce. Service was welcoming and efficient. Definitely will go back again.
Nice ambience, pizza dough was lovely. However when they have advertised "cream" in carbonara it's a bit of a red flag. The salmon pasta had so much cream was horrible, the Moroccana pizza was good and states Moroccans spices.however they had salatana/grapes on it which were very odd and should be spitulated in menu and were not enjoyable
Came in around 5pm on a Friday night. Service was prompt and friendly. Spaghetti carbona and pepperoni pizza were so delicious! Will be coming here regularly.
It amazes me that this place doesn't get all that busy. My favourite pasta restaurant in the West.
A friendly local business! Love their pizza. We had the chili prawn spaghetti which is good however not sure why the noodles r soft or softer than usual Italian style but it’s probably something they practice here. Would come back and try more stuff!
Pasta is delicious with generous serving. Carbonara and Chilli prawns pasta are fantastic.
Very good Italian style food here. Food quality is such that I'd like to give it a 4.5 overall. However, the building seems to reflect sound a bit too well, making for a rather noisy dining experience.
An Italians dream.
The pasta is always cooked to perfection.
The pizza is addictive and always tasty.
Not many restaurants can keep up to the standard this place has set for many years now!
Take away or dine in and you will always get the same quality food and service.
Awesome staff and management.
This place is definitely a few steps above the rest.
The BEST pizza in Melbourne by far! One of the West’s hidden gems. Amazing Italian food with fresh pasta and awesome salads, good atmosphere and a great selection of wines and beers and quality service by the owners. Cannot recommend this place enough. Best place to come for a date or with friends. I am regular!
Had takeout pasta which was very delicious, although as with any noodle/pasta dish it doesn't transport too well. Still very tasty though! Will be back to try the food in person.
I had chilli prawn pizza and garden salad and both were super delicious. Went here on a friend’s suggestion and it was a great experience. Ambience is nice and so are the lovely staff. I will definitely go again.:)
Masters of two. These guys have kept it simple. Pasta so fresh that any Nona would be proud of. Craft beer that beer snobs/geeks would approve of. It’s small so be kind to the staff when it's busy or just don't go there hangry!
Friendly and professional staff, but overall we were left a bit disappointed with our experience. We waited way too long for our food. There were tables seated later than us that were being served their main meals before us. (We did not order entrees). Food wise, the pizza and the gnocchi were alright but for both the pastas we tried, the pappardelle was all stuck together and clumped. We couldn’t twirl the pappardelle around the fork, it just kept breaking. Had to kind of eat it in clumps. On a positive note, the pasta dishes WERE tasty, but just not executed well. Expected a lot better from an establishment in Footscray.
I wish I could rate this place higher because their food is really good, but we came here on the night before Melbourne’s most recent lockdown and we had to wait 40+ mins for two pastas and two pizzas. We weren’t the only ones waiting either, as we noticed nearby tables complaining to staff. After making my own complaint, staff were apologetic and did compensate for the wait.
The food itself is really delicious - my favourite was the Pappardelle in Slow Cooked Beef Ragu. I’d go again as long as the wait isn’t as long as last time because it was quite frustrating. Hopefully it’s not a regular occurrence.
