Fox In The Box reviews
30 A great option for a relaxed lunch, desserts also available after lunch! The server was super lovely, she had a very relaxed vibe and was very patient and helpful, making sure we knew if anything was out before ordering.
The food was very fresh and came out hot, the desserts cold of course. They have a great selection and as a coeliac I was very impressed by the flavours and food textures.
Definitely worth a try, there’s also plenty of parking options for 3-4hrs free within 5 minutes walking distance or less.
Wonderful and kind service, delicious food and how amazing to have a place with a menu that delivers on so many dietary requirements. Even purchased the FODMAP friendly 100s and 1000s!
First time in Fox in the Box, and you have to give it a try! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing FODMAP - suitable for my hubby who has IBS. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again.
Great concept, but patchy quality. 4 of us dined this week, entrees and mains arrived as they were cooked so 5-10 minutes between first and last person served. The salmon was lovely, but the steak very disappointing and the calamari was more like a plate of chips with a few bits of calamari and I can get better GF bread from the supermarket that doesn’t go rock hard in 5 minutes
Amazing. Worth driving a few extra clicks to get here.
Haven't been for a few years but it's still excellent!
Had GF Parma. 10 out of 10.
Had Lemon Meringue. 11 out of 10.
As a GF Plus Other Stuff person this place is great. Fine dining food but relaxed casual atmosphere. No worries for me, no compromise for my partner!
The reason is simple, they know their stuff and it is fine dining level, great tasting food!
This place is very frustrating. Some days the food is awesome and some days i wonder why i keep going back. The ONLY reason I go back is because I'm a coeliac and its safe for me to eat from there. When you call there, sometimes the young girl only ever says hello, not her name or the business name, then i get told it will be ready in 15 minutes so i get there 20 minutes later to pick it up and i end up waiting for another 20 minutes. Yet my sandwich was soggy and stuck to the paper, I'm guessing coz it was sitting there sweating. I get chips sometimes and they are cold. The other day i ordered a sandwich which was actually tasty but there was no mayo on it and the menu says there is mayo. Its definitely more expensive than a lot of other gluten free places so when you get the food and its cold or there is something missing or sometimes the portion is a third of the size than the last time you ordered its so disappointing. Its not a covid thing as this has happened before that started. It would just be nice to have some consistency as this place could be so awesome.
As someone who has a lot of dietary restrictions it was so lovely to look at a menu and have so many choices I struggled to choose one!
The food was very nice, the calamari was a favourite. Service was very good and friendly, they even gave us a free glass of wine because it was the last of the bottle.
We made the trip across town to visit, if it wasn't so far I'd be eating here more often.
Friendly venue serving a variety of gluten free meals, good coffee and dessert. It's great to be able to dine out without worrying about cross contamination, and my non-gluten free friends also enjoyed their meals.
Was very excited to be having dinner here with friends for first time as I have IBS & intolerance’s.
We ordered 2 steaks, chicken Parma & the duck. 1 dish out of 4 ok.the steaks are sold as “cooked for 20 hours” so how they were fatty & rare I don’t know and the chicken was too tough to eat.
Friendly staff and great concept but unfortunately will not be recommending to anyone
With friends we asked for Lasagna and we got a pasta Bolognese selled as Lasagna, pretty disappointed and surprised at the same time.
Wonderful place for gluten-free and low FODMAP options. Loved the lemon mirange tart, the homeliness of the people and the place, one of the few places i got into my writing zone.pretty close to the brighton beach so a nice hop between the beaches.
Fantastic food, impeccable service. On top of that one if our party was gluten free, lactose free low FODMAP and low copper even with all those requirements which normally rules out eating out Fox in the Box was able to offer many things she could eat. I can't recommend this place higher!
Always great tasty low FODMAP meals at Fox in the Box. The calamari is popular in our family. The chef is usually available for a chat when not too busy, happy to explain their beautiful meals.
Food was delicious, for both myself with no dietary requirements and my partner with difficult ones! We messaged ahead of time to suss out whether they could organise some 'low amine' options and Tim was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend.
We just had a dinner there. It took 30 min after we ordered, to be told they don't serve pies for dinner. So we waited another 30 min for one of worst fish and chips that I've ever had, and paid $28 for that.
It is so nice to have somewhere to eat and not worry about dietary issues. The chef was so friendly and accommodating. We ordered the parma and it was literally the best parma we have had, hands down. Totally making this a regular place to eat
I could not thank the team enough for making a great dining experience. The food was amazing and they even went out of their way to help with my 9 month old baby's needs. Above and beyond expectations.
Lovely friendly staff, incredible food and even better dessert! Can’t recommend enough and so great to know you can still enjoy a great meal out while being low fodmap.
Tried the Fox in the Box's homemade *Butter Chicken sauce, *Red Thai Curry Paste and *Teriyaki Sauce - all were AMAZING! Made cooking a breeze knowing it was allergy friendly and great quality - and the curry was mild with lots of flavour which I loved. I returned the jars tonight, stocked up on some more and will be back again! Thanks for allowing us to fine dine all week FITB! Can't wait to try new sauces! Keep it up!:) ps.also loved the (gf df onion and garlic free) chicken parma tonight w fries - absolutely delicious as always!
