Forrest General Store reviews
31I don't what happened to the last reviewer, but I had the absolute best chunky meat pie I have ever had. Yes, at $9 they are dearer than most other pies you will buy, but seriously, it was a meal in a pie and the flavour was just amazing.
Good coffee, snack, sandwiches, bread.very lovely general store and post office. Covid is hard however, the owner and her staffs are trying their best to help customers and locals with good hospitality and flexibility. LOVE them. Always feel good to be there.thank you for being there for us too.
We popped in here over weekend. It is a small store with limited products. We have been here once before and although it is nice sitting outside in the garden section out the front of the store, the prices that are charged here are very expensive. The food we had was o.k.
Passing through on our way to holiday we stopped here and bought 2 hot items, one being a pie in a tin tray. The price was a shock and then the difficullty of eating a pie out of a tin tray that its fused to is nearly impossible. The meat was tough, taseless and both items went into the bin before we continued on our journey. Every other town we stopped at I tried the local pie which I like to do and they were all amazing. Stay away from this shops pies, I'm sure their other produce is fine.
Very sweet little general store, we bought some gnocchi to have with Napoli and chilli pasta sauce for dinner the other night and it was truly delicious! We also shared a peanut butter brownie and that was to die for:)
Hands down the best caramel slice I've had in Victoria! (Narrowly missing out on top spot from Mulwala bakery in NSW if anyone else needs another caramel slice recommendation!)
We love to call into Forrest General store for coffee and cake treats, home made goodies, and lunch. Often two visits in one day while exploring!
Definitely recommend their pies, vegie pie is amazingly delicious! Try their suggest home made tomato chutney on top too.
Great food options and friendly customer service! Also, great selections of local wines/spirits and condiments/relishes/chutneys. Forgot to add, they make an awesome frittata and gf slices!
What a pleasant surprise this store gave wife and I. The food excellent, coffee was perfect and the service great.
Would come back just for the chicken pie. So good. After a day of mountain biking this place was spot on - so many delicious treats. Sausage roll and chutney also delicious! Bought a couple jars of chutney to take back to Melbourne too. Would recommend!
Such great customer service, good food and great gifts. Great stop over on your way to or from the beach!
Popped into this gorgeous little general store on the way home from our few little nights away.
Little businesses like this which provide an essential service to locals but also rely on that though traffic are the places any one regional should be spending their money at the moment.
They have some lovely local gins and liquors, soaps, candles, yummy pickles and home made relish and oils.
If you are allowed to travel (and know you are definitely not a risk) drop in, have some lunch, a really good coffee and meet the locals who normally would be hidden by the traffic and visitors.
