Footscray Community Arts Centre reviews
41We had a great day at the Footscray Community arts centre. The facilities are fantastic and staff are very friendly and helpful. Thank you.
Amazing, diverse, eye opening space for local art and artists community. Staff area very receptive and helpful. I had many questions, about price listing's, artist development programmes, etc. Grace at the desk was generous with her time and information. She also mentioned the future reaching focus of FCAC to support the Aboriginal and indigenous communities as well as African diaspora community which is so a part of Footscray. I really value that FCAC is prioritising voices that need more air time (for several reasons).
Decent place, went for the at exhibition. Got the parking little far but the people there were nice and helpful.
Great school holiday program bringing in local artists. Nice venue to enjoy shows. The bartender I got served by at an event was quite reserved with her wine pour though! Pour to the line please:)
Great spot for a wedding. Rain couldn't be blamed on the venue. Staff wanted to make sure it worked well for us.
Really disappointed. No exhibitions. No staff to help/ask questions. I walked around the whole venue freely. Nothing advertising upcoming exhibitions.
Gorgeous building and gardens. Ampetheater in the gardens. Great exhibits. Offer fantastic classes. Friendly. Great cafe for families too. Toys, beanbags & smiles. Bonsai event was amazing.
The Amphitheatre is a beautiful spot for a wedding ceremony (which is what I used it for).
However, their wedding package is insanely overpriced for what it is and they ask for an extra fee if you would like a wet weather contingency. And if you provide a marquee you cannot pin it to the ground as to not ruin the grass.which is already balding anyway.and will be a very wet mud pit if it has recently rained (which when has it not just recently rained in Melbourne haha?).
Communication with venue was not very seamless either - many of my emails bounced and wouldn't send through and I was often answering questions more than once, which can get very tiring and frustrating when planning a wedding.
As I said, it's beautiful and just around the corner from a reception venue, so very convenient. But don't say I didn't warn you.
Saw one of the neighbourhood comedy festival sessions here and loved it. Great little venue to have in our hood.
Ok for a day out lack of food vendors make things painful. Bumped into a friend who would have catered better and tasted better. Will talk to him about next year.
His wife asked who's jollif rice is better.
Hands down no comparison!
Great cultural activities. Beautiful gathering place for communities
I do an Afro Beats class there that has changed my life!
Terrific art gallery showcasing a diverse range of local talent. Selections here tend to be beautiful and engage the mind as well as the heart. This gallery is inclusive and embraces art from Indigenous artists and people of diverse cultural backgrounds, showcasing emerging and established artists. The quality of art on display is high, as is the manner in which it is showcased. This small space packs a lot of artistic punch. Well worth regular visits. Downstairs there is space devoted to art programs for the disadvantaged, and there is a studio space upstairs used for children's drama and dance. All set is a picturesque setting next to the Maribyrnong.
Multiple buildings with large public open space facilitating a range of arts and culture events and is well loved by locals. All buildings are wheelchair accessible.public space has an abundance of seating, a public artwork and large grass spaces by the river.
Multiple artist studios, exhibition spaces and performing arts. The organization supports local, emerging and underrepresented groups.
A cafe shares the older bluestone building with an abundance of outdoor and indoor seating, local goods, baked treats and strong coffee.
Amazing Place, seen and worked some pretty special shows here. Worth checking out during the day too!
I attended a stunning bonsai exhibition there. The place is not too large. It is well maintained and clean. Beautiful space.
Awesome spot with views of the city and docs.
Nice grass areas to sit for a picnic and interesting art galleries.
Brilliant facility and wonderful organisation. Made even better with the recent addition of Myrtle cafe. The school holiday programs are also excellent, inclusive, thoughtful and fun.
Just an awesome space for local artists in the west. The beautiful river front and the cute amphitheatre add to the appeal. The gallery and the exhibition space are well maintained.
One of the most oldest Arts Centre in the Western and now just only passing the bridge so close to Melbourne City, beautiful Gardens and Great Community Arts Arts.
Beautiful space for holding intimate gatherings. Plenty of off street parking available as well.
