This place was filthy. Most of the food was cold.
Did I mention how dirty the place was. It has huge potential but wow its bad. I actually felt gross eating there. Mouldy grapes. Store brought deserts. Home brand garlic bread the butter wasn't even melted on. Toilets were beyond gross. The carpet was absolutely disgusting. Things stuck to the ceiling. None of the food was labelled had to guess what you was eating. Cups they gave us to drink tap water from was dirty. They buffet had a thick layer of dust on it. It was cheap and nasty cost is $102 for 2 adults and 2 children.
Don't waste your time and money on this place strongly recommend avoid it like the plague. Saturday night and it was pretty much empty tells you alot
Sorry but it needs a massive deep clean. Perhaps a visit from the inspectors before someone gets very sick

For value for money. It was way better than i expected it to be. Good options, good taste. Worth the money

I took my Wife here for lunch and it was quiet but the food was good. Been here many many times pre covid so we've spent ALOT here over the years. The following day I decided to take my Family here for Dinner for a Birthday outing as the food was actually good the previous day. They charged us full price and we walked to get food and it was almost all gone and they didn't top up anything. We had to fill up on whatever scraps were left and hurried as they were starting to take remaining food away to the kitchen.
Worst part was the Boss asked us to take whatever food we wanted back to the table so the staff could clean up and close early.
Normally not a big issue but they charged us full dinner price for 5 people and was hurried with the scraps with a polite hurry up and leave.

So very happy with the customer service and quality of food, please everyone try this place out, you won't be disappointed

Was ok very basic. Store Brought pizzas spring rolls cheese cakes carrot cakes fries calamari and the salad bar was lacking so much there was a potatoes salad consisting of potaote and doing onion and I believe sour cream. Then cucumber sticks canned sliced beetroot mixed lettuce leaves and that was it for a salad bar.

Good value for money but not that much options for food but overall I was satisfied with the food

It was my first time at sovereign hill. Been to Ballarat so many times even stayed at Comfort Hotel one weekend but I never think of visiting this place. I heard people went there it's very expensive. Yes $57 it's a lot of money. Lucky today it's only 4 of us. Me, huby, my brother from samoa and his girlfriend. A very good experience, it was a beautiful day and a beautiful place. WOW! It was so similar to an old place back home in the old days, where lots of people went to work, my mum and most of my cousins, uncles, aunts etc.when I saw the boiler room, wow I remembered my cousins (the boys) they used to work a day or two to dry cocoa and coffee.
I'm so so happy I came to Sovereign Hill today. Maybe I will come again. We did not find any cold today hopefully next time

Absolutely disgusting food. For $25 you can go and enjoy a hot pub meal. Instead I had cold, hard pizza with disgustingly soggy chips. They have hard meat dryer than sand with flies entering all over the food under the heaters. A grungy, dark restaraunt in urgent need of renovation and cleaning. Used to be a cheap and good feed, it’s just feral now. Ew. Judging by previous reviews, the owner will attack me / be warned I am an adult who’s worked for a long time and used to visit your restaraunt 2-3 times a week. You keep talking about being around for decades - if you want that to continue then clean up your act.

Absolutely the most disgustiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing restaurant i have been at in beautiful Melbourne! Do not go there unless you wanna Catch salmonella or other sort of bactéries.
The cold food is not cold enough and the hot food is just not hot enough.
You can see the cold food being all watery because the ice has melted on it.
They were dirty plates from previous customers left on the table for a long time that you could even some flies flying around the room and land on food at the bar it goes to show that the food was old and off.
The floor, the kitchen, the hot food container are so dirty that it will make you sick just by serving yourself.
Initially I thought I paid for it so I might just eat a little maybe it’s not as bad as it looks but after 10 minutes into eating I decided to leave because I thought it will be dumb to get sick just because I want to eat for what I paid for just not worth the risk and the $35 I paid.
I left the place and the food on my plate without saying anything to their staff.

Guess what I was absolutely right!
the next day my boyfriend and I were very sick both with the same symptômes (upset tummy, high body temperature and Diarrhoea we stayed in bed the whole day.
Honestly this place deserved to be investigated and closed down before someone dies of food poisoning because It is really clear and obvious they do not meet any minimum standard of hygiene.
I am generally not the type to complain and leave bad reviews but for what I have seen and how I felt after eating there I had to warn anyone reading this. Not worth your money, time and health. Who knows I might save a life by helping someone avoiding suffering food poisoning

Giving this review as listen here, you DO NOT use your landlord as an excuse for having an outdated looking place that sounds terrible and over priced. You do not make An excuse for not being new and do not say oh well we’ve been around for ages so it’s cool that we’re still standing. You can’t afford to update your place probably because your food ain’t good especially when compared to all the reviews I’ve read. Honestly that excuse of our landlord charges too much made me feel like you’re just begging people will give you pity.

Update; they replied and aren’t helping themselves by going on some random rant about the block and how some other restaurant shut down. Nobody cares. This isn’t about other restaurants this is about how you seem to constantly have to reply to reviews.its clear whoever is running this can’t seem to deal with negative feedback for a bad place. Please get over yourself.
