Food hall reviews
30To everyone who wants to try authentic southeast asian food: RUN, don’t walk to this hidden gem in the cbd! Their nasi goreng (fried rice) with curry chicken was so good, i wolfed down everything before taking a photo! As a singaporean myself, their drink options also reminded me of home.tldr: authentic, well priced, plenty of vegetarian options available, highly recommend!
Foodhall.melbourne in Melbourne CBD is like entering a haven of authenticity and homeliness. The ambiance exudes a welcoming charm that instantly makes you feel at home. However, it’s the food that truly steals the spotlight, transcending mere sustenance to become a soul-awakening experience. The pad thai, a symphony of flavors, stands out as one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The fried chicken, with its perfect crispiness, is nothing short of a flavor bomb. The nasi lemak and delicious rolls add layers of satisfaction to the culinary journey. Each dish reflects a genuine touch, echoing the warmth of home-cooked meals. For those yearning for more than just a casual outing, this food hall is a sanctuary of flavors, making it an ideal spot to delve into the heart and soul of Asian culinary delights in the heart of Melbourne.
Hole in the wall under a train line. Hot and no air con. Tiny space. Trains rumbling constantly above. Overhyped on Instagram and then left severely disappointed in person.
I ordered a nasi goreng (fried rice) with fried chicken
The fried chicken is tasty
The nasi goreng also tasty but i think it would be better if they use 1 day old rice
Their service is good too!
I had the Bulgogi and my gosh was it a small serving with no rice and quite dear. I also had the Korean wings and they were tiny. Only upside is they are 24 hours if you're desperate.
Updating my previous review from 5 stars to 3 stars. Recently went a few times here, and unfortunately the service has dropped and so has the quality and quantity of the food. I ended up with food poisoning. And the price is ridiculous, it used to be super amazing and now unfortunately not great. I will still give it 3 stars because the food was still nice. And that the atmosphere i still admired
Had a great dinner with my partner, loved the beef bulgogi definitely 10/10. Would recommend
I’ve been here before and ordered tomyam (it was good but not what I expected).
I came here again today and ordered the same tomyam and it was amazing. Spicy and I could taste the flavour.
Thanks to the cook: Troy.
Food: Not so great. Pay 18$ for beef fried rice and got 3 pieces of dry tough beef.
Service: waited half an hour when the place had like 5 guest and 4 staffs. All the people came after me got food before me. I wanted to have quick meal then rest a bit for my next shift. But nearly fell asleep at their place.
Atmosphere: place looks messy, untidy and feel like a storage room than a restaurant.
Come on. Do something for your business!
Came at around 8pm, surcharge is after midnight or 1am.
The chicken entree came last and late, we almost thought it wasn’t coming. The sauce was nice but wasn’t cooked with the chicken, just placed over and slipped off so tried to scoop when biting the chicken.
The pad Thai came in a good size for me and still took some home, though it did taste a bit ick after a while. I don’t know how to articulate it properly but the flavour just changed the more I was eating it and couldn’t continue.
Nasi Goreng, chicken had good seasoning. Fried rice was also good
Great spot for a late night feed. Good filling food and lots of choice. It's a gamechanger for late night eats in Melbourne
Open late for a quick and dirty meal, though they are inconsistent with the quality of the food. Quality was decent for some meals though too oily or bland in other dishes. Overall not a bad feed if you have limited options at the time.
Went there after 12am.
Know this place from TikTok. The food was nice the table and menu were dirty, the staff not really look happy.
Recommend to come on a decent time because it’s 15% surcharge after 12am.
Not bad for a place that opens 24/7 for someone that hates most fast food chains it’s nice to have something like this instead of plastic cheese, at any time!
Came here due to Melbourne foodie tiktok she hyped up but this place was a disappointment. Their door was not closing and everytime a customer came in it was freezing. They didn't use the Heaters to warm the place and many people were cold. The food was disappointing. My nasi lemak came out cold was the saddest one I've had around Melbourne. My friends nasi goreng came out an hour later while new customers waiting only 20 minutes got their meals. It wasn't even busy. The only enjoyable thing was the drinks.
Hawker styled food hall with many little stores such as thai, korean, malaysian, etc but at time of visit only 1 store operating and cooked across the menu.
I ordered Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken which had hard chicken pieces which was the same chicken in the Korean Fried Chicken meal my friend ordered.
I do not reccomend as food wasnt great and the tables were dirty (had a sticky film)
I came around 2pm and I ordered laksa curry which I paid for $16.90. Not bad but I saw a front glass wall written from 11am to 7pm all menu is $5. I'm confused and there is other menu for $5 or only selected menu for lunch. Tha
Good food at a good price. Nasi Lemak fried chicken filling and tasty. Super noisy outside with the train. Chicken super juicy and moist
Went here due to IG vid/ tiktok we saw. At first we thought we were walking to a huge food “hall” but it was just 1 restaurant that offered different cuisine. Then the like it just came out of the microwave, corn cheese was sooo stale and cold, 2half half chicken was just all burnt chicken with sauce at the bottom, “sizzling” beef bulgogi came in a bowl (it was just heated bulgogi) to name the few.so different from the photo. We didnt even finish the food as we felt a little disgusted by it. Never coming back
I've been here before at various times and this time I had the nasi lemak and it taste great for the price. That said this place is 100% a street food hall, like Singapore/Malaysia food hall but with better service and it lives up to its name. So I'd recommend this place if you're missing that type of food.
